More perplexing to me is going out of the way to save a few dollars in gratuities and then talking about how (s)he throws tip money all around the ship. The only way everything adds up is if you do RCI math. -
They were being preemptive, you know, just in case RCI decided to do a world cruise. I heard they are now saving in case Royal decides to sent Oasis to the North Pole.

We have moved on from internet. The present discussion is you prepaying the gratuities in order to avoid the increase that was announced as well as you encouaging everyone to do the same. You can reread your initial post in case you have forgotten. -

Perhaps a petition to RCI would be in order asking for an immediate gratuity increase with no grandfathering of lower rates.... just make it an addendum to the internet petition.- 35 replies

The crew is not making sacrifices for either RCI or for the guests of RCI. They don't take these jobs for either of those two groups. They take these jobs for their own purposes. You really need to get in touch with reality.

I cannot comprehend how you continue to patronize an industry that exploits the people that you claim to care so much about. Humane conditions? These folks work on billion dollar cruise ships. I'm curious as to how you settled on free internet access as being to pivotal issue to focus on when it comes to treating these employees humanely.

I like the proteins that they have for breakfast. Mornings on RCI are such a carb fest. And plenty of those carbs are poor choice ones.

I really like St. Patrick's. It is majestic without being gaudy. Unfortunately, it can also be somewhat distracting in there when it is overrun with tourists.

I didn't know that. However, it would seem that it becomes even more pricey for a $14 drink plus 18% plus a tip for the delivery person. And though it doesn't apply to the OP, I suspect C&A vouchers are probably not going to work for a cabin delivery.

That might be the case if you have the drink package as they don't want you delivering drinks to other people. However, if you are paying for a drink they don't care what you do with it.

I've never heard of drinks being delivered. If you are paying for a drink at a bar... soda, beer, etc. you can certainly tell them not to open it. And yes, you can ask your room attendant to fill your ice bucket. You don't have to buy a cooler.

Deck 4 is the outside area. Outside deck 5 only exists on the bow. The rest of deck 5 is Royal Promenade, dining room and lifeboats hanging outside.
