  1. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 Crystal Serenity Northwest Passage cruise. September 5 was a sea day from Pond Inlet to Greenland: Roy

  3. Can you tell me the stations where you boarded and disembarked the train? Roy
  4. In case anyone doubts there can be such a sign, this was in Bay of Islands NZ in 2020: Roy
  5. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I will try not to be late for the eye doctor this morning. Every day should be Charity day. I love the Gandhi quote. This is a great day to celebrate for film fans. I have not been anywhere near Trieste. Sounds like some good news from @Crazy For Cats. Lots of talk about pizza today. Sounds nice but not in my plans. My alternative is Fillet of Beef and cherry crisp a la mode as served on MS Westerdam yesterday. Roy
  6. I think that's all for me today. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  7. Better view than earlier but still pretty distant without a zoom. Roy
  8. Doesn't look like a good viewing day today. At least likely no noisemakers in the mix. Roy
  9. No travel sunrise for September 4 but this was taken one year ago at the school building across the main street from me. Roy

  11. Going through some photos I found this from 2012. Remember the floral "World Map" on the Symphony? Roy
  12. Sorry I don't eat seafood. I've tied a crab cake once and it is just not my thing. Roy
  13. I wonder if they were actually deleted or just no longer available. It may be too late now but I wish at the time the old Crystal forum had been moved to "Friends of Old Crystal" under "Friends of Cruise Critic" Roy
  14. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann for the Labor (Labour) Day report. 4 great days to celebrate today. I filled in for a friend as a newspaper carrier one summer in my youth. I wonder if there is also any kind of celebration today in Los Angeles. I like the Tabore quote. It looks like I've been to Sitka twice, SS Rotterdam V in 1997, and 2010 on Cruise West's Spirit of Alaska. Hmmm, I'm just thinking me visiting Sitka may be a bit jinxed, both of those trips were the final seasons of the ships for their then current company. The meal sounds interesting. Also, Lisa and Tom @LAFFNVEGAS who do post to the Fleet Report and Daily occasionally are currently on the Westerdam. They are posting the daily menus. While my alternative menu selections are currently on hiatus, my alternative menu suggestion today is Gourmet Greens, Peruvian Chicken, and Mango-Blueberry Crisp a la mode.which would have been my choices last night if I had been onboard. Roy

  16. If I'm not mistaken one reason I would choose HAL over Cunard for Alaska is that I'm pretty sure the main pools on QE/QV do not have the sliding roof over them, making HAL's pools more useful in Alaska. Otherwise, I think quite a fair comparison. Roy
  17. Such sad news about Baby Murphy and I'm hoping for a miracle but proud of the family for making a tough decision. Not sure how much such a young baby can really experiencing suffering but a dignified death may be what's best. Roy
  18. Today's sunrise is not much but I got bullheaded last year and took one anyway. It's from one of the parking garages at my local mall: Roy
  19. Thanks. QM2 may well be the most stable passenger ship ever but the rules of physics are unforgiving, especially in the far North Atlantic. Roy

  21. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, Ann, and Graham. I was in a bowling league way back in the 60's, but rarely go to a cinema. Skyscrapers are interesting. I see a ring of truth in Berle's comment. I have not been to San Marino. This was a great day for the US in 1783. I visited Bali just once, embarking the Crystal Symphony there back in 2014 for a string of 3 cruises that ended in Fort Lauderdale on the Amsterdam. Not sure about the meal. AV duty at church and then it will be hunkering inside with the heat. Roy
