Looks like Quantum will be pretty well tied up by the time Volendam arrives. The 2 ships are both shown on the map as small dots listed as "Passenger vessel tracked by satellite". Satellite tracking is world wide but less accurate (updated less frequently) so provides a good idea where ground tracking is unavailable. Cruisemapper includes satellite tracking and I've added the ship names from there to the map: Roy

Bon Voyage. I don't fly to Boston either but Amtrak from Baltimore is a longer journey than you have. Roy -
Today's sunrise is from a 2013 Blount Cruise from New Orleans to Saint Petersburg. I boarded on May 19 but woke earlier that morning on Amtrak's City of New Orleans: On that trip I had planned a stopover in Peoria to catch Mark Farris' dad at his place but the connection did not work out. Roy

Happy Friday. Thank you Rich, Eva, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie. I'll salute Boys and Girls Clubs, sadly am not a gardener, and will pass on NASCAR day. Lots of changes in alignment of colonies/states since 1643. Today Volendam drew the short straw and will need to tender in Juneau. I have not been to Loreto. As @grapau27 no amount of wrongs (except possibly zero) make a right. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Papaya with Rainbow of Fruit, Turf from Surf and Turf, and Tiramisu as served on MS Veendam May 19, 2016. I wasn't doing meal collages then but did catch the starter: Off to Wegmans in a little while. Sounds like rain tonight (well after the Black Eyed Susan race) and again tomorrow but hopefully holding off until after the Preakness. Roy- 99 replies

I think I've been reading the Daily too long. With one of our Senators about to retire, a local Congressman is running. He is founder of Total Wine and lists among his accomplishments being a leader in "Ban the Box". I kept thinking "what's so great about banning Cardbordeau. Roy- 78 replies

Today's sunrise is from a 2010 Blount Small Ship Adventures cruise from Nashville to Chicago on their smallest ship. On May 18 we visited Joliet, Illinois: Roy

Happy not quite Friday. Thank you Rich, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Museums are important. At least for the moment I have no dirty dishes. All my remaining relatives are some distance away; the nearest just South of Montreal, about a 9-hour drive. I have not been to Graumans. I've never had a cat but based on reports here, the quote rings true. I have been to New York many times, both land and for cruises, but only once with HAL. It was the Rotterdam in 2010, the start of my modern period with HAL (I sailed Rotterdam 5 in 1997 and a short cruise on Zaandam in 2002 (Skagway to Vancouver in conjunction with a Canadian based land trip) The flatbread pizza sounds nice but I won't have it today. My alternative is Chunky Jicama and Mango Salad, Rustic Home Made Lasagna, and Birthday cake (not mine). The cake: Roy- 78 replies

I'm not sure if this relates to the original purpose of World Telecommunications and Information Society Day but I'll post it anyway. During the Covid shutdown my church installed some new equipment and has been using a pretty sophisticated system to livestream the services. Each week it requires 2 people to run the equipment and the team recently put out a request for additional help. I got some training on the system and will debut on May 28 and June 4. As one who frequently "attends" from home I appreciate it and decided it's my time to support it. Roy- 81 replies

Falmouth is another cruise line built port. It's owned by Royal Caribbean but they will happily accept fees by others. It is actually though part of the town of Falmouth. If we only get 3 reports on it they may be very different. Falmouth and Ocho Rios are very close, about 30 to 40 miles.apart. @Mtn2Sea rafted on Martha Brae river. @Nickelpenny went to Dunn's River Falls. I did that as well but it is very close to Ocho Rios and my visit was from there on the Crystal Symphony. I visited Falmouth in 2015 on the Grandeur of the Seas and I did a "Heritage Walking Tour" of the town of Falmouth. Crime may have not been as great a concern in 2015 and of course we were accompanied by a couple of local guides, I'll start with a view of the port from the ship: One of the first stops was the court house. Note the alternating yellow and white squares on the trim, We visited several churches on our walk. The first was the Walter Knibb Baptist. Knibb was a leader in the emancipation movement and when slavery was abolished about the 1830's he buried a pair of shackles signifying the end of slavery. Today a monument stands above the shackles. The Anglican church was not just lovely but also a rest stop. We stopped at a traditional house marked by wide porticos and thick walls to cope with Jamaica's oppressive heat. @Nickelpenny mentioned rafting on the Martha Brae river, I walked to the mouth of the Martha Brae in town and it was not at all attractive, It was also an excursion on my cruise and was glad to see that it was nicer further upstream. There is a bit more information and more pictures on my blog post for that day: https://getawaysfrom21044.wordpress.com/2015/03/28/day-15-friday-march-27-falmouth-jamaica/ Roy- 81 replies

I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It's from my 2017 Crystal Symphony cruise from San Diego to New York. On May 17 Symphony was at sea from Charleston to New York. Roy
