  1. Luggage Forward is more complicated and more expensive when crossing national boundaries and I would be a bit reluctant. Canada Place has a baggage storage option that looks promising, Here's a link: https://www.portvancouver.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/WCS-Bagdrop.pdf You could leave their bags there and tour the city and then come back when you're ready to head to the airport. At one time there was a program where they took your bags and gave you a HOHO bus ticket and pass on the skytrain and you could pick up your bags at the airport, Not sure if that's still possible but they give their phone number. 4. Thank you Rich, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Red Cross Founders Day is special and I'll celebrate the many who have followed, including our own @cruzn single. I think Email may be the new version of memo. I'll salute all waiters and waitresses, especially those who balance platters while at sea. I'm OLD but still not quite old enough to avoid tempataion. Interesting that both Lindbergh and Earhart made their marks in lat May but 5 years apart. I've been to Agadir and Casablanca but not Tangier. I prefer my chicken mild and not really in a sandwich. My alternative is Fruit Palette and Oven Roasted Chicken as served on MS Prinsendam May 21, 2015. Worship will be from home today. The entire AV crew has the day off and the equipment will be tested in automatic mode. Roy
  5. The race is on. Pending rain vs Preakness post time. Roy
  6. I've seen the bow both open and closed at times, depending I think of what the crew is doing at the bow and possibly also who the captain is. You may find it varies from one day or one cruise to the next. Roy
  7. I'm not sure why you would want to do that if there isn't a ship docked there. Roy
  8. Today's sunrise is from a 2015 cruise on MS Prinsendam. On May 20 I was in Amsterdam and boarded Prinsendam in Ijmuiden that afternoon: Roy

  10. I know it's regularly bad mouthed but HAL usually offers a transfer from Amsterdam to Ijmuiden and in this case I think it has a lot going for it. @asebastian do you know if the Leonardo was formerly a Holiday Inn. It looks like it might be. If so, it sounds like what the hotel told you was pretty accurate with one caution. The Netherlands is the land of dikes. I think the hotel is at dike level but the cruise terminal is much lower. When I was there in 2015 there were several nice places to eat near the hotel. The walk to the area of the ship is on top of the dike and easy walking. The bus SHOULD also stop right opposite the terminal (at least it did in 2015). The following sequence of photos follows the passage form that bus stop to the cruise terminal: You might also check with locals to see how baggage friendly the bus is. Roy
  11. Thank you Rich, Eva, Debbie/Tina, Dixie, and Ann. I'll salute all of the days as well as Lucky Lindbergh. Eva, while your dad's passing his taking care of his final arrangements was one of the best gifts he could give you. May he rest in peace. Bon Voyage Jake. Sadly, the Boston Cruise terminal is not the best of places to be looking for lunch. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Tropical Fruit Medley, Oven Roasted Chicken, and Baked Alaska as served on MS Veendam May 20, 2013. Roy
  12. Finally we see a bit of Volendam as the webcam has resumed panning: Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  13. Per the Marine Traffic map Tender 13 is off. Roy
  14. You can see a bit from the Snow Cloud 3rd camera down (see post #4). Roy
  15. And it isn't like there's anything to see on tying up the Quantum. Roy
  16. That mystifies me because Volendam should have priority, ACT and CT suggests to me that PERHAPS with the Volendam at the CT dock there would not be sufficient room to get tenders into the ACT tendering platform. Roy
  17. Those cabins are fine but I would still prefer deck 2. The cabins away from the promenade deck I think are deeper, although if you are a light sleeper you might be able to hear walking above you. Depends on which possibility is more important but I would take either easily. Roy
  18. It's a factor but not exclusive. In their MANY calls in Juneau HAL tenders only twice as far as I can see, both times with the Volendam, affecting the fewest passengers. Others like Cunard and Regent barely ever see a dock. I think there are several criteria, and longevity is a major part but not exclusive part of the mix. Roy
