  1. Should emerge soon. Cruisemapper also tracks satellite positioning and shows Volendam about where @Sharon in AZ indicated. Strangely, schedule shows a technical stop at the current location but it does not appear to be happening. The normal purpose is a rendezvous with a small boat which goes far up Tracy Arm, but that's normally only done with the cruises from Vancouver to Skagway that end with a land tour. Those cruises do not have any glacier viewing from the ship so they do it there. Since Volendam goes to glacier bay they generally do not offer the Tracy Arm tour. Roy
  2. Best wishes to Ren today. Actually, it looks like it might as well be a matter of flight convenience because all 3 area airports are just under an hour away (Baltimore Washington (BWI), Reagan National (WAS) and Washington Dulles (IAD). Roy
  3. It's about 23 miles as the crow flies but about 40 as there are no direct roads. @RMLincoln in Aspen Hill is much closer. Roy
  4. Happy Friday. Welcome back to the US, Rich (I think you said you go home tomorrow). Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Ann, Debbie, and Dixie. I have not been to Limassol but remember it as a place where ships hung out during the shutdown. Happy Heavenly 932nd anniversary to Richard I. I'm not sure I agree with the quote, I think some careers do turn out to turn sour. I enjoy limericks, and especially appreciate nurses. CFS is a truly awful disease. Today will be a beautiful day in Maryland but a lot of rain tomorrow. A near crisis just passed as today is trash day and I usually take my trash out about 7:30 and it has just been picked up when I come back from Wegmans about 9, I just heard the truck and rushed out. They had passed before I got out but stopped for me and one other homeowner on the way down the cul de sac. If I have pizza today it will not be vegan. My alternative is Fruit Salad with Yogurt and Honey, Garden Wedge Salad with Grilled Chicken, and Strawberry Ice Cream, my embarkation lunch on MS Veendam May 14, 2016. @StLouisCruisers is Ren in Baltimore today? Roy
  5. It might be more of a pain than it's worth but try typing a word or 2 that would be after the Blue Bubble and then inserting the name in the middle. I think that way the format may carry over to the next area. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is from my 2017 Crystal Symphony voyage from San Diego to New York. On May 11 Symphony began an overnight call in Cartagena. Roy

  8. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. A chilly morning but over 80 this afternoon. I tend to like technology but it can be very frustrating. I've been to Santarem twice, both times on the Elegant Explorer. I'll pass on making the book; interesting quote by Martin. I do eat what I want but try to control my portions. I'll pass on the soup, My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Grilled Molasses Lamb Chops, and Strawberry Sundae which would have been my choices on Nieuw Statendam April 28, 2019 if I had not dined that day in Canaletto. Roy
  9. Just out of curiosity was this the Gran View. Ogdensberg has a special place in my heart. I grew up in Syracuse and my parents were both born in Canada between Ogdensburg and Montreal. Growing up, I travelled almost annually past Ogdensburg and Canada, along both sides of the river and had a ringside view of the Seaway construction. I've stayed at the Gran View a few times and dined there quite a few. Roy
  10. At least a brief closeup of the docking but I think it's time to get on with my afternoon errands. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave and others. Roy
  11. And apparently the cam operator is out to Starbucks. Roy
  12. Staying far to port. I assume she will turn around and dock stern to the camera Roy
  13. And now the bow and a clearer view. Roy
  14. Fortunately, Noordam is well ahead of Brilliance but camera will probably divert relatively soon when Brilliance arrives. Roy
  15. Today's sunrise is from a short 2019 Queen Victoria voyage from Kiel to Southampton (and then back to New York), On May 9 we visited Skagen, Denmark: Roy

  18. Happy hump day. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Dixie, Debbie, and Ann. I should clean my room, and salute school nurses and small business. My brother served on a nuclear submarine (Haddo) a few years after Triton's epic voyage. I've been to Malaga at least a couple of times, Celebrity Solstice in 2012 and Prinsendam in 2017. I'm having trouble relating to the Barr quote. It's a chilly morning but may be the last one until foll. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Sweedish Pork Medallions with Apple Mushroom Compote and Lemon Tart with Blueberry Ice Cream as served at my Mariners Brunch on 2019 MS Nieuw Statendam transatlantic: Roy
  19. @Oceansaway17 you raise a thorny issue. I was hospitalized with pneumonia in early February and really have not recovered that much. Actually, I should have been on Vision as we speak but did not feel like I could safely make the trip. I've been following a live thread by @DragonOfTheSeas and very impressed by what I see of Vision, especially a couple of differencees from other Vision class like a few outdoor tables behind the Park Cafe, @grapau27 you seem to be lucky in the UK. @DragonOfTheSeas and DH got new blocks but were told them if they did not carry them off the ship they would not get them. Roy
  20. Very close but I have a zoom meeting at 4. Seeing her or not will be very close. Roy
  21. For today I once again have a sunset rather than a sunrise. This is from my 2017 Crystal Symphony voyage from San Diego to New York. On May 9 we visited Fuerte Amador, Panama. Roy
