  3. Today this should be me arriving in Nassau on Liberty of the Seas and transferring tomorrow to Vision of the Seas to Fort Lauderdale. However I do hope to get to church in person today as one of our Cub Scouts will take a leadership role and be presented his God and Family award. I'm just concerned that there will likely be a downpour this morning. Roy
  4. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Every day should be Honesty Day, Jazz is not my favorite but I enjoy it. I've had the same barber for many years and I really need to appreciate him as he took care of me Monday and I was months overdue. I never was into Mr. Potato Head and have not been t to Eidfjord. Wishing healing for Vanessa and congratulations to Ren. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Jimco and Mango Salad, Baked Ziti with Saisage and Sun-dried Tomato, and Mixed Berry Crisp as served on MS Nieuw Statendam April 30, 2019: Roy
  5. Today's sunrise is from a 2013 Crystal Symphony trans-Pacific cruise from Kobe to Vancouver. On April 29 we arrived in Vancouver, Roy

  7. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. I won't dance and can't think of any independent bookstores in my area and astronomy is fascinating. I often feel like Kissinger and good riddance to the wall. I have no idea what the meal is. My alternative is Orange and Avacado Salad, New York Strip Steak, and Cherry Crisp, as served on MS NIeuw Statendam April 29, 2019: Roy
  8. Don't know how the quotes got jumbled but that was @St Pete Cruiser and the bite occurred while sailing the Noordam with a medical disembarkation in Hilo. Praying for a speedy recovery. Roy
  9. I am back home after a good morning. Today is trash day and I knew the weather was coming so I took my trash can out to the street yesterday evening, and took last minute stuff out about 6:30 while there was still just a little drizzle. I headed to Wegmans about 7:15, stopped at our mall for a 15-minute walk, did my shopping and was back about 9. A mild but significant rain as I walked to the car, from the mall parking garage to the mall and back (each of those 3 legs about 100m feet subject to the weather), Wegmans had a covered passage from their garage to the store, and a mild rain when I got back home, and have been hunkered down ever since. When I was out visibility was still fine. I'd really encourage you once again to think about The Music Center at Strathmore. Located next to the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro station with free concert parking at the station, it's about a 20 minute drive from Aspen Hill, BSO as well as other groups have a varied collection of performances there. 12. Happy Friday! Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Very few mates left in my family. I like clean comedy and great poetry, and have taken a number of night flights. I love the Einstein quote but will pass on the curry. My alternative is Canaletto Salad, Chicken Parmigiano, and Postachio Gelato as served in Nieuw Statendam's Canaletto April 28, 2019. Today looks mostly like a washout, and I'll leave fairly soon for Wegmans and then hunker down for most of the day. Eva, do you think Father David's Pilgramage should go on the celebration list? Roy
  13. Bon Voyage. I was booked on the same side to side but am slow recovering from pneumonia and had to cancel. Roy
  14. I have this feeling @grapau27 is on a cruise but I checked the Southampton schedule and didn't find anything so I can't figure out what it might be. Roy
  15. I haven't done much in the way of personal updates the last few days, a combination of being busy and not really knowing what to say. I think there's been a bit of a combination of progress and adaptation. We've had weekly curbside recycling for many years. I don't really have a lot to recycle and declined one of the baskets they issued. Instead I've been using a combination of paper grocery bags and shipping boxes to hold my small items. We've had more wind in recent days and carrying 2 or 3 bags to the curb early in the morning has become a pain. I don;t feel safe using 2 hands to carry a big basket out to the curb, especially over the curb. The county now supplies rolling carts and I ordered one which was delivered yesterday. One adaptation completed. I should actually be in Fort Lauderdale waiting to board Vision of the Seas back to Baltimore but didn't feel strong enough to take a cruise for the next several months. I do still have 2 cruises on the books, QM2 New England/Canada from New York in September-October and Rotterdam out of Fort Lauderdale over Thanksgiving. I now feel like those cruises will work and have fleshed them out with train reservations and hotel in New York and Auto Train and several days of Florida hotels booked for Rotterdam. Roy
  16. I was just thinking of all the information we lost from the old Crystal forum and wonder if it was archived or actually deleted. If it still exists I was thinking it would be nice if it could be set up as a sub-forum in the "Friends of Cruise Critic" area. Roy
  17. Today's sunrise is from my 2014 MS Amsterdam cruise from Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale. April 27 was the last sea day before arrival in Fort Lauderdale. Roy

  19. Thank you Rich, Sandi, Eva, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann for the Friday Eve report. I need to get my orange shirt out for the day. I think the best stories are told around a roaring campfire. I never learned Morse Code and as @0106 said I'm not far from Babe's birthplace. I like the Ellis quote. I've been to Delgada 3 times, Crystal Serenity in 2008, Queen Elizabeth in 2016, and Nieuw Statendam in 2019. Beethoven was one of the true greats. The meal sounds pretty good. My alternative is Chilled Mixed Berry Soup, Australian Fruit Platter and Chateaubriand as served on MS Amsterdam April 27, 2014, my final dinner of the 2014 World Cruise. Roy
  20. Ok, thanks. I was thinking it was the Eurodam but now I understand. I pretty much know what to expect from this poster. Roy
  21. @kazu did they take out all the pins or do you still have some. Wow @cat shepard and @cunnorl that's scary and it is not far at all from my SIL's place (near Viera). @StLouisCruisers can you give me a hint about how to find that thread. I could use a few laughs. Roy
