  1. Excellent! Also happy to report no ill effects so far from my booster. Roy
  2. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit. Thank you, Rich for the first Fleet Report and Daily for October. I like all 3 of today's days but International Day for the Elderly and International Coffee Day are tied closely for my favorite. I have not been to Toulon. A nice quote from Flaubert. It looks like a wet day here but not heavy enough rain to make things impossible. I'll head to the mall soon for my walking and then groceries. The meal sounds nice. My alternative is Pear, Cucumber, and Melon Gazpacho, Turkey Scallopini, and Apple Strudel, my first dinner on Amsterdam's Grand Asia voyage October 1, 2017. 3. Long time since I've been operational. Treasurers do not take a lot of risks. Roy
  4. @MISTER 67 thank you for checking in. I've taken the liberty of adding your "Lemonade" cruise to the celebration list. @ottahand7 I think you made the right decision canceling your visit to Baltimore. We seem to be calling for almost continuous rain all the way to Monday. While it will be just a rainstorm when it gets to Maryland it has had an effect on me as well. I had planned to get my Bivalent booster tomorrow through our Health Department. When I registered I thought it a bit unusual that the site was a local park but they do remote clinics sometimes and it was only when I got the confirmation that I learned it was part of a fund raising walk. Well, last night I got an email that the clinic was rescheduled for November 19, which I hope will be my last sea day on the Eurodam. Other options for rescheduling with the Health Department were not attractive but made appointments first for October 18 at their headquarters, and then realized there was a clinic October 12 at a branch library that could have worked, still not what I was looking for. I found out my usual pharmacy had walk-in access. I revised my weekend to visit that store today and shift the one with covered access to tomorrow and headed off after lunch to the grocery store and pharmacy. The pharmacy is usually pretty calm but it was very busy today but I did get the shot. Neither I nor the guy giving the shot knew if the rush was due to the storm but I suspect it was. So far no reaction. A drizzle has started now. Tomorrow I definitely plan to walk at our mall, and visit the grocery store with the covered access and maybe visit Panera if the rain/walking distance are not too bad. I then must dash into my church if at all possible for a funeral, but after early Saturday afternoon may not leave the house again until Monday. A pretty miserable weekend. Roy
  5. I don't have a September 30 sunrise. This is from earlier in September, the 17th of 2007 from the Training Center at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico: Roy

  8. Thank you for the TGIF report, Rich. I'll pass on both the Mud Pack and Vegetarian days, salute translators, but my favorite is Canada's Truth and Reconciliation Day. I love the Tolkien quote but have not been to Nafplion. No idea what the meal is. My alternative is Honey Pineapple, Rack of Lamb with cannellini beans and garlic pearls, and Black Forest Cake, my likely choices September 28, 2017 on MS Oosterdam if I had not been in Canaletto. 9. @HAL Sailer, great news on your family house. @Cruzin Terri stay safe as Ian approaches. Things don't sound good for your getaway to Barbados. Just wondering, would it be possible to go somewhere nice and inland when your anniversary comes. Your house may be the best place to ride out Ian but it's no place for a celebration. I have a bit of my own good news. I got a message from my niece in Orlando that her family is ok. I can't confirm she has power but she does have a generator. Roy
  10. Today's sunrise is from my 2017 Oosterdam cruise. September 29 was a sea day from Astoria to San Diego. Roy

  12. Awesome news. I expect tree experts will be hard to find but hope the mango can be rescued with less sophisticated help. Roy
  13. Thank you for the Thursday report, Rich. 3 great days to celebrate, with a special salute to World Maritime Day. I love the Lewis quote. I have not been to Majuro. Not sure about the meal but I don't have a slow cooker anyway. My alternative is Chilled Raspberry Soup, Oven Roast Chicken, and Mango Blueberry Crisp as served on MS Oosterdam September 29, 2017. 16. And things are changing rapidly and probably not completely predictably. I'm not on a cruise in the area soon but if I were I would not want to miss a port simply because HAL couldn't guarantee it's availability several days before embarkation. If a port is ready for and wants us I would want to go there. A little flexibility is a definite bonus for me. Roy
  17. I've been trying to think of Crystal people in Florida and coming up empty. The one person who came to my mind is a great lady from my early days with Crystal that I never met. May @Judith02 rest in peace. Roy
  18. Bon Voyage. I wish you satisfactory water levels and a wonderful first river cruise. Roy
  19. I have been following all the BHB that were taken out of service post-covid until they returned to service. Today the Maasdam (now Renaissance) left Aigio where it has sat since 9/3/20 on the way to Malta. Roy
