  1. I think NA is moving faster backwards than Equinox did forwards. Roy
  2. Somehow, when I was on Allure of the Seas it sounded better in person. Roy
  3. Today's sunrise is from my 2017 MS Amsterdam Grand Asia segment. On October 28 we began an overnight call in Shanghai: Roy

  5. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Debbe, and Dixie. I'll celebrate the Statue of Liberty and love chocolate but will pass on the plush animals. I have sailed from San Pedro several times but only once from Long Beach, but have stayed a few times on the original Queen Mary. I like the Horney quote. An interesting combination of days today from justice, one a great success and the other a dismal failure. Nice to see 2 BHB in Everglades, the season is really starting. I can't remember ever having Ground Turkey Pasta Bake but it sounds nice. In fact it beats my alternative, a bag of potato chips (left over from the tour) and ice cream from the lido late night snack in Shanghai after a very long tour on October 28, 2017 with MS Amsterdam. Roy
  6. This was a sad day within my congregation with 3 funerals of interest to people there. First we had in the church a funeral for a member who passed suddenly at age 96. Of particular interest to me was laying to death Baltimore City firefighter Rodney Pitts III, who died in a row house fire October 19. Another of our key members is a judge in the Maryland Circuit Court and a friend of Judge Andrew W Wilkerson of Hagerstown MD, gunned down October 19 in his driveway by a man upset by his decision in a child custody case. A sad, sad day/ Roy
  7. Today's sunrise is from my 2016 transatlantic on Alllure of the Seas. On October 27 Allure visited Malaga: Roy

  9. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie for the TGIF report. Happy birthday @grapau27. My DD DB spent several years in the Navy and I visited his submarine several times. I'll pass on the beer. I know we have a lot of cat people on the Fleet Report and Daily and I expect a number of them are black. Interesting quote by Brenner, and I'll certainly celebrate Pinckney's treaty. I don't think I've seen Rebel Without a Cause. I have been to Callao/Lima several times and it's an interesting place. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Chilled Mango Gazpacho, Chateaubriand, and Carrot Cake as served on MS Amsterdam October 27, 2017. Roy
  10. Today's sunrise is from another round trip transatlantic, this one in 2014 eastbound on QM2 and returning on a cruise ship, this time Wind Star. I worked early on our fire department's breakfast October 26th and caught the sun coming up from our ballroom lobby: Great to hear from @NextOne again. Roy

  12. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie. Hats off to the deployed. I really depend on my horseless carriage. Mincemeat pie is a favorite of mine. The Trillin quote kind of strikes me as funny. Having experienced the Northwest Passage, McClure's discovery really resonates with me. I have not been to Oban. The turkey wild rice soup sounds nice. My alternative is Minted Melon and Raspberry Soup, Red Curry Coconut Chicken, and Strawberry Crisp as served on MS Amsterdam October 26, 2017. It should turn nice today and I get my Covid booster. Roy
  13. I am actually at 26 years post diagnosis. Getting old is not all fun but still far better than the alternative. Roy
  14. A number of my trips have evolved from something I missed in a prior trip. In 2007 I sailed Silversea Rome to Dubai and got document too late to visit the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. A couple years later I filled that gap by booking a Nile River cruise but missed out on a tour to Alexandria I the day before the tour started. When Serenity had a nice tour visiting Alexandria in 2010 I booked it, followed by another med cruise on the Wind Surf, and QM2 back home from Southampton. This is the sunrise our last day in Alexandria, October 25, 2010. Roy

  16. I did leading to a flurry of frustration and activity while no issues were found at the visit My regular treatment is a hormone shot which they say leads to bone density loss, and they referred me for a bone density scan. I discovered that my copy of the referral did not specify where it was to be done and I had to clarify that with the practice, and then their appointment online scheduler moved my appointment to a distant facility so I had to call and get that corrected. They also changed their patient portal to a different company, and after a 30-minute call with them they could still not get me a login. Breaking, the primary check on my status is a PSA test and the PA just called with the results which were a sharp increase. So now I am on deck for a PET scan that I tolerated very poorly last time. Frustrating. Roy
  17. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Ann, Dixie, and Debbie for the Hump Day report. Happy anniversary @seagarsmoker. I think I'll pass on the days. I love the Rowling quote. I'll bet there was a lot of celebration in the Netherlands this time in 1964. I have been to Castries at least twice and I'll bet a number of us have as well. The meal sounds nice. My alternative is Fruit Ceviche, Salisbury Steak, and Mango Crisp as served on MS Amsterdam October 26, 2017: Roy
