  1. Today's sunrise is another from my 2019 QM2 transatlantic with continuation on to a river cruise on Crystal Bach, then both Crystal ocean ships: Roy

  3. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Diwali day sounds interesting. I'll pass on the Balogna but salute the UN and love the Einstein quote. Sheffield FC must have a great history. I have not been to Guadeloupe. Bon Voyage @aliaschief. Happy Birthday to @Overhead Fred and belated happy anniversaries and birthdays to several I have missed the last few days. Off to one of my weekly supermarkets in a while. I'd prefer to keep my hamburger and my macaroni separate. My alternative is Lido Steak and Ice Cream as served on MS Amsterdam October 24, 2017 after a very long tour to the Great Wall of China. Roy
  4. Today's sunrise is from a 2012 Crystal Symphony Cruise, Montreal to New York. On October 23 we visited my most recent Crystal port of call, Newport. Roy

  6. And she's gone. Two threads for one port call might be a first. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  7. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Never had a Mother in Law, and Talk show hosts run the gamut from the nice to some I would avoid like the plague. I had to look up Mole Day, and it's for the chemical unit of measurement, not the thing that grows on your skin, nor the burrowing pest. It seems with the Elso Baghoorn discovery today should be National Fossil day, didn't we just have it within the last few days. I was scheduled to visit Gisborne on Crystal Symphony in 2018 but something came up and we missed the port. Interesting quote by Carey. The Chicken and Rice sounds nice. My alternative is Chilled Grape and Cranberry Soup, Ribeye Steak and Cherry Sundae as served on MS Amsterdam October 23, 2017. Sadly I forgot to take a picture. Roy
  8. I wonder what's happening here. Veendam is still at it's dock in Aigio which I don't think is a place for renovations and is not on the December 1 Fort Lauderdale schedule. OK, just checked the Victoria Cruises website and startup is now July 6, 2024. Roy
  9. @Cruzin Terri so sorry about your need to cancel. It was a roller coaster today in church. It started out on a high note as one of our pioneer people who ran the livestream of the service had been out sick for many months. He showed up for worship a couple of weeks ago and today was at the controls for the first time in ages. Then came the end of the service. Our beloved pastor who has been with us for over 10 years has been reassigned by the Methodist church to another post and will be leaving at the end of January. We are a combined Methodist/Presbyterian congregation so the next pastor will be under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church so that will be an interesting process. Our liturgist was so devastated by the news she could barely get out the benediction. Roy
  10. A very nice saiaway. Thanks Leanne, Lou& Dave, and fellow Addicts. Roy
  11. I thought she was a bit weak earlier but the new toots are really awesome. Roy
  12. I mentioned earlier that I had visited Stockholm twice, 2003 on a land trip, and 2015 on the Elegant Explorer. Land trip is a "sort of thing" it was a combination of trains, freighters, ferries, and one cruise that was supposed to take me around the world, the first of 2 failed attempts. My 2003 attempt was cut short by SARS, and 2020 by Covid. My 2003 arrival in Stockholm was on a train from Gothenberg, and I left on the ferry Gabriella for Helsinki. My 2015 arrival had a bit of a feeling of home week as we followed Gabriella into the port. My tour in 2015 was quite unusual, as I was a lot more mobile 8 years ago than I am today. It was called A Sensational Rooftop Walk, and we got a real birds eye view of Stockholm. We started in a building attic donning safety gear before we started out on the roof: I was in group 2 and watched the first group lead off: Here's a tricky corner: And up close views of some steeples: Roy
  13. Can't understand why they book a Celebrity Ship at 4 and HAL from Pier 26 at 3. Never going to happen. Roy
  14. Today's sunrise is another from my 2019 QM2 transatlantic leading to continuing on Crystal Bach, Crystal Serenity, and Crystal Symphony. A little bit of improvement in the weather than previous days: Roy
