  2. @Paula_MacFanI'm so sorry to hear they did this to you as well. I'm honestly not quite sure whey they just don't tell us earlier. They notified us a few days prior and it was blamed on port congestion in Cozumel, yet there were actually 7 ships rather than 6 that could handle thousands more people. Hopefully you are able to figure out what else to since your excursions are gone. Hope you have the greatest cruise!
  3. Sorry to hear you have such rough seas and aren't sleeping. Has guest services offered to do anything for you?
  4. Just a thought... but perhaps we should stop discussing second hand reports from an employee of Princess on the ship as Princess reads the boards and I'm sure they wouldn't be too happy with an employee talking to a guest on board about how things are not that great.

  6. I had an aft suite once though it was on The Crown and as someone who can get sea sick, I only booked it that once. There was simply too much motion for me. Beautiful view but the swaying just got to be too much for me.
  7. I got his call two weeks ago. Wasn't thrilled that the guy knew so much about my past sailings and made it seem like they were calling about my December Sky sailing. It was a big no thank you from me.
  8. There are things wrong with things on Princess and as an elite member, it's annoying as heck the perks that they took away. I will say that traveling on a whole isn't the same since pre-covid. Heck, I always used Disney and The Ritz Carlton as two of my personal bench marks and can say that Disney has without a doubt made cut backs and still to this day hasn't gone back to pre-covid levels even though they have consistently raised their ticket, hotel and food prices quite a bit. Still spend a lot of time there and enjoy it immensely but realize times are different and I have to manage my expectations. I managed my expectations for this last Princess cruise from both reading the boards as well as friends who told me that things were not the same. And they weren't, however I decided that I was going to appreciate being on the cruise and enjoy myself and I did.
  9. Welcome to Cruise Critic, I see that though this is not your first sailing, you just found CC and joined. Sorry that your first post was for such a negative experience. Hopefully you will post after your next great experience cruising. Sorry that you did not enjoy your Princess sailing. It's great that you. have other lines that you throughly enjoy. As others have said, Disney is a cruise line on another level along with the price tag to follow. I do have to say that I have never had an issue or language barrier with those passenger facing crew on any of my Princess sailings to date so that is just a surprising tidbit to read about. Hope you enjoy your next cruises on either Celebrity or Disney!

  11. I just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year! I know at times things can go sideways on here, but I have to say that I have been so fortunate to have meet everyone either on board a ship or on here. Thank you for being a member of cruise critic and for all of your help over the years.
  12. Unfortunately you sailed with very high winds and weather which hindered your port stops. That greatly altered your cruise which is very unfortunate but beyond any cruises lines control. I was on the week prior to you and we had awful weather. It certainly made out cruise very different than what we normally have had. Sorry you didn't care for your cruise. I would suggest giving Princess another try and not during the holidays.

  14. I'm so sorry to hear that you got so sick on board. Like you, I was so happy to get home after our sailing and had a tough time even getting off the ship and to the car. I slept the entire time across the alley and could barely make it to my bed upon our return. I'm still recovering and still have a horrible cough as I ended up having pneumonia. No clue where I got mine from. My husband just said to me "you still don't sound great" just five minutes ago when I coughed. Hope you are fully recovered soon and thankfully you were able to enjoy your holidays. Happy New Year!!!

  16. I can't thank those who posted about this terrible lighting situation prior to me boarding. I made sure to buy and bring blue painters tape and my husband covered the light in the hallway. I would have been pissed with it going off every time one of us got up every night. We used the pillows from the sofa in front of the side tables. (though mine didn't work so I didn't have to bother.)

  18. I'm not making excuses for the crew, but as I know I am still recovering from my Sky sailing, I do wonder if they have some crew members who are sick. And to the OP, the Director of Restaurant Operations you spoke with was Cirprian Hoidreag. I can tell you that he sincerely cares about what you had to say to him and will work hard and trying to rectify issues in the future. He has been with Princess for many years and we spent some nice time with him on our sailing. He does like to make sure things run smoothly and does pay attention to our opinions so know what you said did not fall on deaf ears.
  19. The bartenders in Take Five and Vines are absolutely exceptional so those are two bars that I would suggest spending some time at.
  20. thank you for taking the time to write a review. Glad there were things you did like and enjoyed. Sorry you had such issues getting a cocktail. I guess we were very lucky as we never had an issue getting a cocktail even with a good portion of the ship having the drink package. The one issue that I had was I never was able to get my coffee delivered to me throughout the sailing! The Sky does have many new Princess employees. All the cruise lines are having issues restaffing their ships since the restart of Covid as so many crew members did not come back. As my son is a senior compensation analyst with Disney, we were discussing their cruise line just this weekend. Disney is a whole other animal, that's for sure. Hope you can look back and have some fond memories and that you are able to enjoy all of your cruises in the future. Again, thank you so coming back and taking the time to post a review.
  21. We got the alert from Princess for our 12/9 sailing. Finding a parking space later on was evidently very difficult. We found a parking space at 10 am on the 3rd floor after driving up. Nothing prior to that floor.
