  1. For us, it does depend on price and since most if not all hotels now have dynamic pricing that can change daily, we shop around. In 2021 it seems in the center of FLL was cheap with hotels and in 2022 it was Dania Beach. Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port (If affordable during your date range) was great for us as there are tons of restaurants within walking distance. Also, if you elect to rent a car, parking is (or was last year) free
  2. Its the sail only fare for two, you still pay fees/taxes/tipping for both of you
  3. I've had bad steaks on X but never had a bad steak at the Outback/Texas roadhouse, I'd be happy with their quality, many would rank those 1 star
  4. Hate taxes but love the US? You avoid income federal tax, income state tax and capital gains tax in Puerto Rico if you are willing to: 1) Buy property in Puerto Rico 2) Live there for 183 days a year 3) Make an $10,000 annual donation to an PR approved charity While many will claim the electricity always goes out many buy generators and/or solar panel especially for new builds
  5. If you book a comped balcony you’ll receive CC points for a balcony
  6. You get CC points based on the room you booked though X/BCC; if offered a balcony and you paid the $10-$20/night to upgrade to an AQ/CC, you’ll receive the AQ/CC point amount Like all MoveUp bids, if you win a move up bid you do not receive the extra points. Most BCC are not linked as eligible for MoveUp, only by emailing the MoveUp dept (not the BCC) can they be made eligible
  7. Everyone receives free drinks from the classic drink package while playing in the casino
  8. Yes, it's a very nice hotel. We did a two nights there and it was great being close to the resort and not deal with parking. We then joined others and therefore moved into an airbnb, finding parking was a pain due to so much snow reducing the number of parking spaces
  9. Coincidently, I was just there two months ago. The cheapest room type had a gas fireplace, tub and tv above the tub
  10. I truly wish I had their palate...You have seen one of the many threads about the cuts in service and declining food quality? This is is 17 pages long and only a week old: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2915201-not-to-pile-on-but-it’s-bad…/?do=getNewComment
  11. Thanks that answers some questions as they state this is the “initial” yet you do wonder only Celebrity was awarded and more importantly, did they rate other cruise lines and deem them “not worthy”? I’m hoping this is a blessing in disguise and motivates X to up their food quality. Forbes mentions “Known for fine dining” and if people are booking X for the food they will be outright disappointed by the current food offering
  12. Since the restart we do not have any confirmed reports of any on board comps like specialty restaurants vouchers, etc. This is apparently different than pre-pandemic...They'll just say charge everything to the room and if you have enough play on the last night they'll give you a credit
  13. Curiosity killed the cat but I wonder why not X's newest ship, the Beyond? Why is Celebrity the only cruise line to win this award and not any ultra-luxury lines like Ritz, Regent, Viking, etc?
  14. You do get an morning arrival, over night and evening departure in both Maui and the Oahu, you get 10 hours at each of the big island ports
  15. Wow, thanks for sharing...Seems too good to be true that they're going back to ALL stations open for dinner
  16. Recently off the Solstice in AQ, assuming things don't change Blu will offer filet twice on both Chic nights. One has a sauce is listed under Blu signature entrees and the other will be sauceless on the clean cuisine side; appears the be prepared the exact same
  17. In 2023 it was $49.95, was in the day 2 dailies and you had to leave it out in the morning on day 3. Problem with that is you'll hardly have worn anything by then
  18. This will inevitably get moved to the ports of call Specifics help, exact budget range, if you want to explore FLL or not (there's a water taxi), etc
  19. The trend seems to be going in the opposite direction, they built the larger E-Class then for the 3rd, 4th and presumably 5th E-Class ship, lengthened it...I'm incredibly interested to hear what the next X class is
  20. The other thing about Blu is guests can order off of MDR menu. On a typical 7 night sailing, Blu will offer filet on both Chic nights, but that's it. Used to be get the Prime Rib on the first night and Ribeye on a non-Chic night but those options are gone
  21. I'm sure they didn't want to mess with "The Retreat" too much but I think it was you who stated they downgraded beef suppliers
  22. It states if you bring sealed wine/liquor on beyond the allotted amount, they will take it and give it back the last sailing of the cruise
