question about bringing 2 bottles of wine per person aboard
NutsAboutGolf replied to l_n_kelly's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Put a couple of bottles in your luggage that you hand off to the porters and carry on the rest (2 per person 21+) -
Not impressed with MDR on Silhouette

They most likely won't contact you but they do read the surveys. If they were to contact you, at the end of the day, what do you want from them? Because you can try calling the engagement center and perhaps they'll throw ya an OBC on your next sailing as that seems to be their standard fix -
My opinion on Beyond--Infinity Verandah
NutsAboutGolf replied to mizLORInj's topic in Celebrity Cruises
If the fifth ship is simply a minor evolution, it makes no sense to me to "waste" the name Pinnacle on it. Pinnacle is the top status for RCI and there are similarly named ships, CCL Liberty and RCI Liberty of the Seas...Who knows -
My opinion on Beyond--Infinity Verandah

For the 5th E-Class saw on YT Don's family vacation state he was told this ship will have "the most suites ever on a Celebrity ship", only details he shared. There's a few threads about the name, due to X having it trade marked, leading names are: Pinnacle, Luxe and Elegance -

Call X and plead your case, maybe they'll offer you an like a $100 OBC. If they don't offer an OBC tell them an OBC would satisfy your compliant -
Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation

Yup! Crew is going to swipe/tap your sea pass in their computer along with the drink order and it will either ring a $0 if the drink is currently included in the drink package or it will charge you. No way to grandfather it -
Classic Beverage Package Changes and Devaluation
NutsAboutGolf replied to j0hnnyb0yyyyy's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Bottom line with the drink package is, are they making a profit? They have many options to ensure the package remains profitable along with price increases. They'll know exactly what part of the package isn't profitable and can adjust the package rules. If they determine pax are drinking too many drinks per day, they can change the rules to limit the amount of daily drinks to say 10. If over a certain timeframe X determines too many people are ordering Johnnie Walker Red, they can remove from the package -

Also remember that Elites and above get free mismoas and bloody marys in the morning and the 5pm-7pm happy hour. You can also carry on 2 bottles of wine per person. Lastly you can sit at a penny slot machine by the bar and you'll be in the path of the waitstaff; I'd guess that's only $1-$2 in penny slots per drink -
Tourism is and always has been, a double edge sword as it brings in revenue, more development, raises property value (good for owners, bad for renters) but also congestion. During Covid, residents loved the reduced congestion while the local Governments hated the lack of revenue coming in. Infrastructure can be solved by incoming revenue. Regardless, as stated above, the title is click bait as its doubtful this fee will pass as is, will probably evolve to a new tax and/or increased tax

Mention your disappointments on the survey -
There was a thread claiming they are closed for 2023 but it appears to be deleted??? Wasn’t following so perhaps that OP was wrong

Is Hawaii so expensive that cruise is a good option?
NutsAboutGolf replied to gordylad's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Great photos...To comment on this, there are three key reasons to at least think twice about a timeshare, #1 after you die, they often get transferred to your family #2 maintenance fee and #3 massive assessment fee. Airbnb are often cheaper and in some cases better than hotels but if one wants a hotel, here's an example on Kauai...Hotwire has the Sheraton at a reduced rate, all in $378/night (about a $500 savings over booking directly); is that cheaper than the average timeshare with fees? -
Do you mean when you book suites you're forced to book AI or something else? I've read when in port bars are closed so if on a sail-only fare, I guess if you're in port from 5pm-7pm, if the bars really aren't open than that's an indirect benefit cut

Coincidently, here's Don telling you to fill out that survey and not to be afraid of being honest with negative remarks...Like him or not, he puts out a daily cruise video and is one of the top cruising YTers

All cruise lines seem to have resisted automation/tech as they can rely on cheap labor who can work seven days a week. I would love to be able to do as many things as possible with the app. Go to a sit down restaurant for dinner? You're already in the app looking at the menu, you should be able to order from the app. There are reports of it taking the crew 20mins to take your order

NutsAboutGolf replied to gordylad's topic in Celebrity Cruises
There's def things to do and see on Oahu outside of Waikiki but there's nothing wrong with staying put on Waikiki. Part of the land vs cruise decision is if you're okay with a ton of sea days if going on X -
Very possible, I could stand corrected so thank you for pointing that out. Yet my point remains that LLP has to answer to higher-ups, apparently RCG's board

The article is somewhat clickbait as this $50 visitor fee concept has been around for 50 years and even the article states: "There are several models under consideration"...In 2021 the $50/person fee didn't pass and they ultimately raised the hotel tax %

Yes but the other dynamic is most excursions are 4 hours or less (obviously exceptions exist), assuming one has the energy to utilize a rental all day the per hour cost with a rental is USUALLY cheaper. With a rental you can beat attraction crowds by arriving early or late, can have a local meal whenever and where ever you want and explore the port destination at your own pace. I just checked the rate for when the Eclipse is in it's overnight port in Maui in May, so TWO days, all in is $171 (plus fuel, entrance fees, possibly parking, etc), that's not expensive if one would utilize it both days
