  1. Which ship? Just wondering if it’s E-Class only
  2. It’s continental so cereals, fruits, pastries and simple beverages like coffee and juices, no smoothies
  3. Sea and port days so literally every day…Things just went from bad to worse…guess they’re getting congested
  4. Mind posting a screenshot? First I've heard of this and this sounds really bad
  5. I live somewhat in the vicinity and have taken two ride shares home from the port in the past 4 months, neither time was surging much. Based on how much I paid in fees and per mile, I would estimate that had I gone to LAX instead of home at the current pricing it would have been $40-$45. Both times we self-carried off
  6. Like @jjfarns states, we were on her in Nov and it was $35/person
  7. Are you sure it's only as little as $35, for a taxi? I believe its at least $70 and wouldn't be surprised if it's $100 While you can lock a ride share rate, the drivers have to accept them and probably won't during high surge times
  8. Just a marketing justification to make both passengers and investors feel better. Like with all travel that uses the dynamic pricing model, if the ship is fairly empty there's a "fire sail" as the sail date approaches. The next Mexican Riviera Solstice sailing on Feb 11th, 7 nights, for example, before fees and taxes an inside is $276/person and a balcony is $450/person. Reportedly you can book an inside and on boarding day immediately go to guest services and change rooms to a balcony sometimes for no charge if there's lots of availability
  9. I've sailed many times from July 2021-present, there's always been very little enforcement of anything. For the Covid test results and vax card, 9 out of 10 times it was a second long glance. Remember when they wanted masks in the theater? While they posted a crew member at the entrance to hand out masks, they didn't check to see if anyone even put them on. Casino, while the pitbosses did enforce masks at the tables, no one enforced them at slot machines. In the beginning of the restart there were Capt announcements over the PA system if someone tested positive. This seemingly got replaced by the capt showing up unannounced to a show to make their covid announcement; guessing this satisfied announcement requirement from corporate
  10. That's awesome it's so good. Another random FYI with Michelin stars, while it's not uncommon to hear "Michelin Star Chef", its fancy marketing as there's no such thing as stars are awarded to the restaurant, solely based on food
  11. Was recently on the Solstice, in AQ they had a Samsung TV with HDMI ports and an USB port. I have never tried the USB port on X's Samsung TV. My home TV 15 years had a USB port which would not play video, audio only so I wouldn't solely rely on a hard drive. Simply move your files to your computer and connect it HDMI. Also, you MAY be able to connect it to a computer wirelessly, we were unsuccessful connecting but didn't put much time into it since we had a HMDI wire we just connected, YMMV
  12. Do better Bo, give getting sloopy drunk the old college try! 😅
  13. If I could take a vegas bet, I would bet it's hear to stay and like anything, the amount will increase every so often. IMO they should get rid of it for Blu since one of the benefits is the expanded RS menu. Why would anyone want to get a RS salad for $12 when they can get it at the buffet/MDR/Blu for free (rhetorical)?
  14. I feel like it's been that way for a while now, you have suite guests who get the Retreat and Luminae, AQ guest who get Blu and spa access and everyone else
  15. Should be noted that status doesn't really matter because you can have top status, go on one sailing and never play. For these comped offers on X, only your last sailing play counts
  16. We always try to eat when in port but often a tour eats up most of our time in port
  17. FYI, Michelin stars are awarded to the food, it ignores restaurant service and atmosphere which is why you have food stands in Singapore with Michelin stars for a $5 dish. Cruise ships, Carnival included, generally have great service, it's just the complimentary food itself leaves a lot to be desired
  18. I can add a datapoint that this is accurate. On the AQ RS menu the fee is listed on every page including the front cover
  19. Yes, this is accurate for those dining in Blu. On a typical 7 night sailing in Blu you can expect Filet Mignon twice and no additional charges for multiple lobster tails. In AQ despite having an expanded clean cuisine room service menu, you still pay the room service charge of $9.95 + 18%, which seems like no one put any thought into that one and just greenlighted the RS fee for every stateroom but suites. AQ should be excluded from the RS fee
  20. Absolutely agree. @TeeRick is welcome to provide more context. While suite guests have more dedicated crew, X is still paying a minimal amount for labor unlike US Airlines. Every single X ship gets more and more suites, the yet to be named (rumored to be Pinnacle) 5th E-Class has only had two details released, that construction has started and it will have the most suites on an X ship. Why would they increase suite staterooms if they're less profitable? Why even partner with MoveUp is selling discount suites is less profitable? We also have to remember that most reduced capacity sailings still sail with nearly fully booked suites
  21. Correct, I was correcting the amount. On lobster night they used to have beef wellington (filet mignon), some are reporting that's now gone. Reported options on lobster night are Duck a L'Orange, Lamb Provencal, Haddock and Risotto
  22. Was on her twice last year, I only have the random sampling of passengers I spoke to, 2/3 said were they were there due to a comped BCC offer
