This!  This was the deciding factor for us when we booked the Millie for a Southbound cruise last August.  The two secondary considerations which also leaned towards the Millie was that she was Revolutionized and that she was smaller (2k vs 3k).   On the flip side, it was more of a logistical pain around flights/hotels/etc...but to us it was well worth it. Felt like we got to see a lot more of Alaska (i.e. a slightly thicker, tiny sliver of what there is to see).

We did the Southbound last June. Their were 4 of us. I rented a car and stopped at Alyeska Resort Aerial Tramway on our way to Seward. The next day we did a excursion out of Seward to see whales, glacier and wildlife. Our hotel was near Alaska SeaLife Center. After breakfast on the morning of the cruise we went to Alaska SeaLife Center . Then took the free bus outside the center to the cruise terminal. We tip the driver because of luggage. Sunset in Alaska.

If you are eating in Luminae one’s concern for the dinner buffet is pretty low.   I have eaten at high end tea and it is common for the executive chef to wander the room and talk to guests.

DH has dietary restrictions and needs/should to eat smaller meals more often. He will normally go to the OC at 3pm and bring snacks back to the suite. Also after dinner he goes to the OC to get snacks for 9pm. We will see how things go in May. Might just have to use the butler more.

Not sure where to post this question/comment regarding room upgrade/bid process.  Was ready to submit an upgrade offer until I discovered that the upgrade to a higher suite ONLY includes the room NOT the benefits.

Has this always been the policy?

Yes if your upgrade to a Sky or Celebrity suite.

If you upgrade to Royal or above. There are items that do come with the suite. You need to look at what comes with the suite.

    Royal Suite:

    Exclusive services and amenities

Complimentary bottled water, soda, and beer stocked daily

Unlimited lunch and dinner in all specialty restaurants

Two complimentary bottles of premium spirits

    VIP canapés

Complimentary laundry service (twice per cruise)

    Priority luggage delivery

The above is from Celebrity website. I thought premium drinks, premium Wi-Fi came with RS. Has things changed?

On the Edge now. Secret always available includes: French onion soup, escargot, Caesar salad, a regular salad, steamed vegetables, baked potato, salmon, chicken breast and an awful NY strip steak that is brown/grey skinny . Also secret ice cream with chocolate sauce.

What about creme brulee is it gone?

One thing I like about the Mille is a 3rd. set of Elevators.!!! Close to Mid Ship but only on the Port Side but with Glass sides looking out to Sea on the outboard side.

I like the Revolutionized refurbishment decor and the fewer guest count than on S & E class ships. I do miss  Murano........

Mille.  was the First X ship to return to Service after the worst of Covid in June of 2021 (Yes 2021!) sailing from St. Maartin in the Caribbean as US ports were closed. Where were On it for that cruise and 30 days later when Mille. sailed from Seattle to Alaska in Celebrities First return to Alaska cruise. 3 more Mille. cruises since then and in 3 weeks we will do B2B's on it  out of San Juan. I guess you could say we Love Mille. ??

Millie is also my favorite ship. We have sailed on her twice lately. Oct 2021 and June 2022. Millie is a great ship for Alaska. Suites are very nice on Millie, great location mostly on deck 6. We will be on Summit in May.

Thank you. We usually carry off our luggage to avoid all the confusion of everyone looking for luggage. I guess we will continue to do so.

    Laura

We have carried off our luggage once on Millie as a suite guest. We left from MC out the side door on to the outer deck with a separate exit for suites. It was great.

I have been wondering if suite guests have a separate place for their luggage during debarkation. Do you know if this also applies to Bayonne?

    Laura

As a suite guest we were assigned group 1. We wait in MC or the Retreat. When your ready to leave someone from the lounge will escort you to the exit.

Correct, I work in digital advertising in Canada. There isn't any $ for TV here (or I haven't seen any commercials at least on TV). I do get daily ads on digital platforms like web and mobile apps.

With the Edge and Celebrity seeming to be going for a younger group. A TV now is just a monitor for streaming digital content. I've seen many ads for Celebrity.

  9.

On another post I said if Celebrity has only E Class ships I'm gone. Prime Rib comes in 2nd. 3rd is Crème brûlée. It is hard to cook m-rare prime rib at home for 2. Has anyone been able to order PR in Luminae with advance notice. Celebrity seems to have already gotten rid of the chocolate sphere in Luminae, at least on the 7 night sailings.

Does not the room attendant each morning change the bed into a couch. Will the room attendant make the bed after my lunch, so I can take a nap or is the change made while at dinner.

  11. Edge is not sailing Alaska until 2024.

Since the restart we have done 4 cruises. 3 of them have been Alaska cruises. 2 were on Millie and 1 on Solstice. The Millennium would be very nice, but adding airfare to Anchorage and transfer to Seward. I decided to pass on the Millennium. The Solstice out of Seattle would be the simplest for us. We are 30 mins from the cruise terminal. Eclipse out of Canada Place is about a 3 hour drive from Seattle. In my eyes Eclipse has the better itinerary. I like Hubbard Glacier, Icy Strait Point and glassblowing.

If I was already having to fly and could add 2 days in Seward, book Millie. Otherwise I would sail out of Vancouver over Seattle to see Hubbard Glacier. Photo of HG June 2023.

  12. First we were just on Solstice last Nov and we had the divider open with our friends next store.

When it comes to the M Class ships in general the only balconies that can be opened are on deck 11 A1's. These cabins were added to M Class ships after Solstice was built with the new style of dividers. Along with Blu. Blu was cut out of the MDR. Photos from Summit.

  13. When it comes to the S class ship for us it was all about location. Solstice ship we have booked 2105 and 2107 a number of times. You have a larger balcony with overhang. Walk right out to the pool. Up one deck for Oceanview café to bring food back to the cabin. Cabin numbers are different on Reflection because Celebrity moved the pool up one deck and added more cabins/suites.

OT:   Finally found this site. (You've posted a chart like this on a few threads...)

Question - Have you actually booked cruises with them??

The site shown is my go to for research. I want to say for 20 plus years. Never booked with them. I have a great TA that has helped us over the 20 plus years.
