  1. We'll be on the Ruby in October, so enjoying your review. Your picture-taking skill is exemplary! So often, the photos people take of the Patters are hard to read. Yours are SOOOOO very clear!!! Thanks!
  2. My 'guess' is the cruise lines will follow the data. There are 3 Holland America cruises happening now with no pre-cruise testing required. When those are finished, they will see if the number of covid cases on those ships is significantly higher than cases on similar cruises where pre-cruise testing was required. If not, they might start rolling out no pre-cruise testing. If they find a significant increase, they might leave it as it is for a while. Only a guess.....
  3. My outbound flights were ticketed long ago. My return flights just finally showed up today with ticket numbers on my Travel Summary. I did call Princess on friday and the person I talked to thought because she had a confirmation number, they were ticketed. I hung up, but still was unsure. Over the weekend, my cruise happened to go under 30 days. So, either it was the 30 day mark that did it, or the person I talked to did 'something'. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Since you are close to 30 days, you might want to wait until you are at 29 days and see if they magically get ticketed?
  4. I doubt it with the current wave, but it is definitely interesting. Thanks for posting this!
  5. This used to be mentioned on their website, but it is no longer.... ☹️ So, pretty sure you are now on your own to get a test....
  6. Wine yes---a noted in above posts. Bottled water - No. You can bring a 12 pack of canned water (if you can find it) or soda per person at embarkation. You can also pre-purchase 12 packs of water from Princess for a fairly reasonable price delivered to your stateroom.
  7. There's a lot of people (like me) who normally have FCDs that have now all expired/been used since I haven't been on a Princess cruise since Covid. It did push me to book something next winter that I might have waited until after my August cruise to book, when I intend to again purchase some FCDs.
  8. Sometimes these are shown on the cabin tv later, I believe. Perhaps that is the case and some people are trying to avoid what they thought might be crowds? in the theater. It also sounds like a port intensive cruise....sometimes people just need to crash....
  9. How far out is your cruise? My experience too was that they said they wouldn't talk to me until about 30 days out. I wasn't willing to deal with that stress. I gave up and rebooked myself thru EZ Air online, which cost me and several hundred $ more (International Business class) since the price had gone up since I booked. I even had a CVP and she was less than helpful.... πŸ™„ My experience was a few months ago....might be that it has gotten better....but I am doubtful.
  10. Get the Princess Insurance or Insurance from another source. At least then you know you are covered. We have been treating Princess insurance as just another charge in the cruise budget like port fees....
  11. That has always been our favorite place to eat also---even pre-covid! 😁 Question for you... It seems you are always in Princess Live in the evenings. What is your strategy in that venue? Pre-covid we had a problem finding seats anywhere in these type of venues...so there would be no choice of socially distanced ones. Are there that many fewer passengers on the ship now? Or what is your 'avoid covid' strategy for them? TIA Thanks for your Live from.....It helps as we await our next cruise!
  12. Nope. Not to my knowledge. You can stay overnight near the airport and go back to the airport the next morning to pick it up.
  13. Your positive test result IS your Documentation of Recovery. Just bring it along and show it when you embark. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/frequently-asked-questions/us-cruises/ Guests who have recovered from COVID-19 within three months from the date of their cruise departure or cruisetour departure (whichever starts first) do not need to take a viral test before embarkation if they are at least 10 days past their COVID-19 infection, have no symptoms and produce documentation of recovery from COVID-19. Documentation of recovery consists of the following: Paper or electronic copies of the positive viral test result from a certified laboratory (dated no more than 90 days ago) or A valid digital COVID-19 certificate (DCC) or a document issued by an official health or government authority showing confirmed previous infection Guests who present these documents will need to go through a secondary screening at the terminal, and boarding will be approved at the medical staff’s discretion. Guests who are unable to provide documentation of recovery that fulfills the above requirements must take the required COVID-19 viral test and show a negative result. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When you present your test results at embarkation, they will screen you to make sure you aren't still sick. If you want to avoid this additional screening, you could take an antigen test just before your cruise and if you test negative (probably likely as antigen tests aren't that sensitive), you can upload it and you are good to go. If not, use your positive result and do their screening.
  14. It is all a bit confusing. However, it sounds like they needed a pin for the Aunt's card? If that's the case, apparently she had a Debit Card on file instead of a Credit Card? It does seem that Princess needs to look at their policies if they allow people to pay in cash or use a Debit card, they should have a billing method available so there isn't such chaos at such a tremendously stressful situation. Prayers to the Op and her aunt.
  15. Loved Skjolden....but so very small I don't think it has an airport.....
  16. This menu is from May 2022. The package started in June 2022, so is no longer the current menu. ☹️
  17. I think the key is that it says OR. The way I read it, all you need is proof that you had a positive test and you are 10 days past it. This does mean you can't just take a home test...you would have to get a proctored test with documentation for it.
  18. On one of our cruises a few years ago, it was an evening "game" in the main dining room---what would come for the coffee? DH and another traveling companion would always ask for "real cream" for their coffee. Sometimes it was real, sometimes it was not..... πŸ˜†
  19. Interesting that this was "highly successful", but generated zero buzz on Cruise Critic.... Where were the rave posts about how great it was? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
  20. I have always thought the best stewards are the ones I rarely see. My room is magically refreshed while I am away. If I have no issues with remotes, ice, toilets, tv or whatever, I don't need to see a lot of them. (You would be surprised how good they are at fixing tvs when there are issues.) Happy to say hello in the hallway when I see them, but generally I don't need to learn their life stories, nor they mine. Others really enjoy engaging a lot with them...different strokes for different folks....
  21. Correct. Think of test day as day zero (so the 29th). The 30th is day 1, 31st is day 2 and August 1st is day 3. Have a great cruise!
  22. Yes, you are up to date with only one booster. I have not heard of any cruise lines requiring 2nd boosters---though they are often recommended. At least not yet..... πŸ˜ƒ
  23. It depends on the ship. On one ship-pre-covid, we went down to read the dining room menus at lunch time and there was a line up for the Pub Lunch (in the dining room)! No mention in the patters.... πŸ™„
  24. Thanks for confirming this. I was looking for it yesterday and didn't find it either. I thought maybe I just was missing it somehow. Guess I'll have to find someplace else to test ...or the even better thing would be if they change their requirements before August so I don't have to test at all! 🀞
