  1. So, didn't you get a refund for the canceled Bungalow? Unless they are sold out (doubtful), you can still fix this situation.
  2. All gyms will be the same policy. I would say minors need to be accompanied by responsible adult. On their own, I am not sure... maybe 16.. but that's a guess. Someone will know, ir just ask once you board.
  3. Yes, click on Change Flight and shop to your heart's content. You can bail anytime up thru the final page where it shows the final price comparison between new and original. Nothing is canceled until/unless you confirm a new booking.
  4. Since your parents are not using computers, why don't you have their login information and just go into their Personalizer and order the Bungalow under their booking? Easy-peasy!
  5. That is also what I do if bringing one from home. Otherwise, I will splurge for one of the bottles I get from TW. (And of course, I would never drink wine in my PJ's.. 🤣.. glad that thread got killed.. had to throw that in there as I got a couple of "like" notices and it's gone!).
  6. You should check out the destinations forum for NZ and probably get lots of ideas there. When we did the NZ cruise out of SYD, we rented a car in every port I think (maybe one exception?) and did our own touring around to see sites. Was not interested in LOTR things, but we did get to the hot springs. And some wineries and saw some great scenery and other stuff. I would recommend self-touring if you cannot find a suitable ship tour. We also do independent small-group tours over ship tours in any case, but NZ seemed like a good place to get out on the highway and see the countryside.
  7. It could be that you are relating experience from resumption of cruising because it really isn't like that. Sure nothing is absolute with Princess, but generally, the line with res is different than the line without res.
  8. I do drink wine almost every night - unless a beer would be more suitable or desirable. Bottle values vary, and it is not very easy nor really feasible for me to bring any quantity beyond a bottle or two (should I so choose) from Ontario to Fort Lauderdale - or overseas for that matter. So, I depend on Total Wine to obtain my stash. I had never heard of the producers you mention - although would have surmised located in one or another CA wine region. Dare I suggest these are smaller producers and won't even find their way into consumer locations that are larger scale because they cannot get the quantities needed. Most restaurant wine lists could be called uninspiring. (Many don't even deserve that much). I think most are either unable or uninformed to go beyond "safer" selections and so forth. At least some do present labels that are not found on the store shelves. I am happy for you to be able to take and enjoy the fruits of your own collection. No idea the size. For me, I only have a 100+ bottles around at any time and very few duplicates. I have been in a longish period of trying a wide range of wines curated by a service here in Ontario that can obtain private sourced wines and re-package and share with members. Here, we have total government control over wine (and liquor) and so to experience off-shelf wines, one needs to find other ways. Our liquor board is one of the largest buyers of wine in the world, so again, they need to find quantities as most purchases bring in large quantities. They do have rare wine program as well, but I digress. I no longer have the space nor inclination to build up a large cellar, so the inventory level stays relatively steady with new in-flow replacing what has been consumed since the last acquisition. So obtaining wine in FLL, or overseas, is for me to find some decent value wine that beats what PCL can offer for what it costs me and is then on par with labels they do offer at much higher prices. On a much smaller scale, I do enjoy having some of our local Niagara Region wines that do not make it to the stores which I presume is the case for many of your CA labels. You are lucky to have so much choice there beyond the names every one knows.
  9. I used to bring some better wines as part of my inventory, but soon stopped when I realized the food was not quite up to the wine and now I just go for good value wine that may end up costing close to the lower prices on the menu, but is far better.
  10. Note that I used words like "can result" and "subject to". A guest won't necessarily always be charged, but neither should guest be surprised nor object to a charge if it happens. Checking in early at the terminal will often mean the wine table is not setup to process excess bottles. Although an unmarked bottle can be charged in the DR by your waiter, they might not do so every time. Guest is charged at the time of opening bottle in DR, SD locale, or bar. Guest is not charged if later bringing same open bottle to dinner next night or to another location.
  11. Nothing to do with the packages. Also, neither package has a corkage fee waiver benefit. It is true that bringing a bottle or two of wine back to ship from a port will rarely garner any attention at all and guest can simply proceed with it to their cabin. That said, bringing said unopened bottle to dinner can result in being assessed a corkage fee.
  12. Incorrect. Guest may bring on much much more than 2 bottles (IDK if anyone knows what the practical limit would be). All bottles >1 per guest are subject to a corkage fee of $20/btl.
  13. It was yesterday afternoon and you can find it on Carmen Roig's YouTube page. It was more of the usual rah-rah sales gab. I didn't see all of the questions answered either, nor many of the issues raised here addressed. That would not be in line with the rah-rah session style.
  14. Don't be surprised if they manage to rig up some of the gauze "sails" they use on other ships. IMO, it doesn't do much at all on Royal Class, so I wouldn't expect a lot of coverage for Sun Class, but they'll make an effort I expect. I also expect there will magically be more pads on loungers that didn't have them before.
  15. I do not see PCL guessing at all. They have realized a significant number of guests want to continue with TD and they are adding that back into the mix formally (it really never left if one was aware of things and requested it). OTOH, they will make it easier since guests can request that option upfront and it is done outside of DMW App which could not handle TD at all. Guests can still make custom reservations or do walk-up (a.k.a "anytime"). It's the best of all worlds if they can pull it off smoothly. DR Mgrs have been dealing with making adjustments to whatever gobbledy-gook DMW delivers them.
  16. Not on their public webpages. They may have hidden or member pages that will indicate discounts. Some have the discounting baked into their booking engines if you get access to those webpages.
  17. That one is a no-no to mention specifically and has been deleted in the past. It does have several participating subscribing travel agencies and acts as an intermediary advertising platform in effect. You should find non-specific wording to refer to this website like posters who reference the "Big Box". I have advised posters to look for a website where agents compete for your business (or similar).
  18. As for Canadian fees, we probably have higher hotel tax rates than many are used to. BTW, those $300 - $400 US room rates are well over $500 in Monopoly money (er CAD funds).
  19. I think the Fairmont chain is Canada's top line of hotels.
  20. No, they don't transfer funds. See my post above which aligns with your final sentences.
  21. No. You cash out casino winnings/balance at the cage. You then visit GS and hand over the cash and ask them to deposit it into your cabin account.
  22. I agree that the absence of a public AO section for open decks is a miss. That said, as long as I don't have to sit under or near the noisy MUTS screen, I don't mind a few kids and we wouldn't generally be sailing in prime school holiday periods.
  23. Thanks for the illustration. And for clarification - yes, Suite guests already had included access to the Signature Suite sub-section within the Sanctuary. So, I do agree that the only added benefit if Premier package. For the Minis and handful of special Balconies, they did not have the Sanctuary access. I am not surprised there is a huge money-grab here and it won't take long for savvy guests to figure it out. The question is, will they give up their habit of booking Suites and drop down in protest or switch to another line? Guests like me are certainly not chomping at the bit to fill ay void and snap up those expensive Suites.
  24. I don't need Princess for information. I might need someone there to do something for me I cannot do myself. That still requires some level of understanding and job function on their end to execute and deliver. And requires some expertise on my end (in some cases) to ensure it is being done right. This is tough situation for newbies and read their tales of woe on here often. As far as TA's go, I'd venture that most of them know less about PCL than I do. Speaks to the challenge of getting a good one that is knowledgeable and thorough. OTOH, I just don't see it as a TA job responsibility to call up PCL and book dining for a client - as an example. So, a TA Isn't the answer for everything.
  25. Another issue raised is that access to Sanctuary is not possible for the masses on Sun and Star (and presumably the ships that will follow). It is now turned to an exclusive area for most expensive cabins (save for a handful of special deluxe balconies. For me, based on the early reports of what the Sanctuary is on the Sun for $100/day, I have zero interest in booking it, whereas I am all over it for Caribbean sector voyages on most of the rest of the fleet. So, the loss of even having the option on a Sun/Star voyage doesn't really concern me. That said, I presume they will upgrade the whole thing by this Fall because they only had the nice padded loungers primarily in the exclusive Signature Suite section and I doubt anyone included in the new Sanctuary Class is going to be happy to be laying out on a crowded sun deck in regular loungers. I continue to believe the lack of much shade is going to be a huge problem until they resolve that. I still want to experience the Sun Class one day - because it is new and different for the most part. I don't see this change really affecting us as I would not have been attempting to book the Sanctuary even in the Caribbean. Other than trying this new Class out, I would prefer one of the older ships if I was taking a Caribbean cruise in order to have a decent Sanctuary experience. Who knows if Princess will look to alter the experience on the older ships - particularly Royal Class - in order to deliver at least some level of this new change of Ship-Within-A-Ship?
