  1. The key word there is "door"!
  2. Our previous two requests received very quick response and approved. It would be useless to have approval two weeks before sailing as @DallasGuy75219 suggested above. For example, our last deviation included a flight to return to port to get on another ship, accommodation bookings, rental car booking, plus travel and sightseeing plans. These could not wait until on the ship or even a month before sailing.
  3. Oh, I still want to experience this ship. I just won't be laying out the dough for the non-Sanctuary.
  4. To summarize what we know so far on pricing for Sun Class Sanctuary. Not all questions have been answered. General Access Fee = $100/pp/day (officially $99, but really now?). What you get is access to regular deck sun beds, perhaps a double-wide padded chair near the pool, some curvy hard plastic loungers at the pool, plus a general seating area that have tables and chairs and appears to be the only area with shade. Suite Guests pay no Access Fee and have access to designated area with comfy padded loungers we are used to. There is a bar. Cabanas cost $500/day (no word on number of guests allowed without paying more, although the number is 2 on older ships). These have full shade and some sun. NO word on part days - it is likely the $100 entry fee applies. NO definitive word on selecting lounger location and it seems unlikely this is still the case. ETA: I'm calling it the "Not-A-Real-Sanctuary Sanctuary", or the Non-Sanctuary for short.
  5. True, but of course the Dome is an open public area and may have more noise.
  6. I had read the same you quoted, but of course PCL did not publish that they were ruining the rest of the Sanctuary for the steerage guests. From the main video provided to date, it makes perfect sense that a Suite guest can come and go as the please and use the entire space. What we do not know is if they show up expecting to use one of their padded loungers, and they are all full, will they be able to plunk down onto a sun bed lounger to wait for one to open up? The Sun Sanctuary must have some capacity control, but that doesn't mean everyone gets a lounger. IMO, we need a detailed report from a guest who interviews the Sanctuary manager and asks them a list of questions on the operation. Until then, I think we have speculated the heck out of the place. In fact, I have been thinking that the Sun Sanctuary needs its own thread topic and all posts in this thread on the subject should be moved to it. ( @Host CJSKIDS, is that too much work now with maybe 100 posts on the Sun Sanctuary- what do you think?)
  7. I think we can safely assume that all these collected gratuities are going into the pool. Same as the rest of it. Your cash tip goes to the waiter.
  8. I am thinking you meant to include a thread link?
  9. All the SD and Experiential dining has been increased to add 18% on top whereas it used to be baked into the price. Sneaky kind of way to do a price increase. Maybe they wanted to literally show guests a gratuity is involved in everything as many may not have realized. It is still a price increase no matter how you cut it.
  10. It is quite possible and often done. You need to submit a Route Deviation Request. Your TA or CVP can do it. If you booked directly, you can get the form from Princess. Try calling and asking, but you can also write Customer Relations (they are not the team processing the requests, but I don't have an email address for it).
  11. Don't bother wasting time on the above video. It is lifted from an earlier one and the fellow doesn't seem to know much. Other than a Cabana costs $500/day. Yikes!!
  12. He appears to have lifted his video from another. Whatever.
  13. Exactly. Only shade I have seen is in a lounge type area with scattered chair settings and some stand-up. Pretty bad IMO.
  14. Even if they come up with pads, those sun beds have no wheels and cannot move and you are crammed in with everyone. Just terrible and not worth the old $40, let alone $100!!
  15. Sorry, but that video doesn't provide any new info other than the $500 ticket for a Cabana (which was exactly my guess price when I heard $100 for an unpadded sun bed). The videographer doesn't seem to know anything too much.
  16. Pretty sad, isn't it? Now it's just chock-a-block plain old deck chairs in an adult-only zone. A hundred bucks for that??!! Who are they kidding?
  17. And I imagine those are free as FCFS. So, $99 is for ONE person for full day? Or a couple? (If one person, that is a 2.5X price increase - $40 to $100 essentially). Any info on half-days or cabanas? I am guessing a Cabana must run $500 now based on the $100 new lounger price.
  18. @HiramDylan, Any chance you can get us full Sanctuary pricing before you disembark? Full Day / Half Day / Full Voyage cost. "Regular Section". Same for Signature section. Cabana cost for Full / Half days. Whole voyage? Also, are there any padded loungers outside of the signature area - OTHER THAN the double-wide beds around the pool? Thanks. @rexdillinger, you took a video of Sun Sanctuary, but no mention of pricing. Any chance you can re-visit that to gather the above info? Hopefully someone on board can supply the info.
  19. Your thinking is correct. It is somewhat unpredictable as to when get unfettered access to cabins, but we can normally drop bags in and then leave for lunch. Suit yourself - less lines later after the initial rush is on board.
  20. On the varying opinions on price of the new Caymus, I am guessing the new price is the $149. It would have helped if those posting what they paid included the date.
