  1. Supposedly, if you have a simple type of corkscrew with a relatively short helix screw, you should be good thru TSA. But each agent can do their own thing and a long time back I had a supposedly good one taken. At the time, they were selling corkscrews at Vines for a reasonable price. Last time I inquired there, nope, not selling those anymore. I found one ashore. You are unlikely to get past TSA with the large corkscrew type with the side-arms and a long screw piece. You probably can expect issues with the "waiter" style as well (short knife blade - even though under TSA limit - with turn screw). There is zero issue if pack one in checked bags which I normally do. I take a waiter style corkscrew in checked bag. If we are travelling with checked bags, I'd just buy one at Total Wine in FLL or some other port location. I will take both corked bottles and screw tops. I tend to open the bottles in the cabin. I have asked to borrow a corkscrew but it seems to be RS now and they won't leave it with you for the voyage. Once, many moons ago, our steward had one to lend us, but I prefer to look after myself now as it can be unpredictable to get one for keeps on the ship.
  2. Sorry, I am not sure because it is not something we have been interested in.
  3. This UK promo has occurred last year sometime as well. IDK why they would even offer the Plus as an option when the Premier is priced the same. If one was going to book a package, why on Earth would anyone select Plus in this situation?
  4. The Reserve (formerly Club Class) Mini's were getting Platinum level priority as far as I recall. There is some level of priority boarding for any Reserve cabin, but the Suites would still be first AFAIK (along with Elites in any cabin).
  5. Who cares about the setup stuff? You mean they did not allow anyone (Suites, Elites) upstairs to the gangway level? Surely they must have had those folks in a section downstairs so they could head on up first. Seems odd, but I suppose it took less staff that way and less clean-up after? Maybe they thought they would get complaints if folks went upstairs and found no refreshments.
  6. That is the total price, with a baked in gratuity amount. That said, many full-cruise bookers seem to reward the stewards on the last day with some extra cash. I love the place, but having done it a lot in the past, I'd be content with full-cruise afternoons now as I'd rather do a couple of other things and not just slack out on a lounger all day long.
  7. This makes sense to me. My Shipmates is a different feature than adding guests for dining reservations in the old App, so I imagine it is the same thing in the new App.
  8. Thanks. I am not quite sure how it got to so many posts. I know I participated a lot in some Roll Calls for longer voyages. I don't do social media other than this forum. It must be due to the information sharing and the largely great group of folks participating here.
  9. Yes, you can advise your room steward (a.k.a. Stewart) that you don't need a particular morning or evening service. Or that you just need some towels changed. We often don't have Stewart do a full servicing both morning and evening. You will likely want trash taken out during a voyage as the cans are small and it does mount up. They are required - or at least want to - change the bed linens every four days (so once for a weekly voyage). We have had just one change on a 10-nighter before. You do not go to a "front desk" for cabin supplies or to request a cleaning, etc. Talk to your steward. I have found they are quite accommodating. Use the screen at your cabin door to set Green to request service and Red to not enter. PS - Congrats of sorts as you have ended up to be my 20,000th post here on Cruise Critic. I have found this Forum to be extremely helpful over the years and I try to contribute when I can. Welcome to the Princess Forum. Look up your Roll Call and participate in that to enrich your experience. ETA - Sorry, no prize. LOL.
  10. Princess consistently implements very conservative time gaps for catching flights - at least for departing the ship. (They seem to be much more optimistic for arrival flight times to catch the ship). Since you know what you are doing, just ignore the warning.
  11. Doesn't seem like much of an excursion - only 1.5 hrs and a certain amount of that will be wasted time.
  12. The first part of the above reads like you were already logged in with userid/password? Where specifically were you entering the booking number? Were you attempting to respond to the link about "add a booking" or "link a booking"? If so, that doesn't work and it is sad that PCK IT still has that there as none of us understand why it is there. If you login using userid (email address typically) and password and do not see a cruise booking, use the alternate login method of Name, Birthdate, Booking number. If this last suggestion is what you were actually doing, then try doing the same thing with the web version of the App (link can be found in Cruise Personalizer). If that also does not work, you need to contact the OCEAN IT team as you must have some piece of corrupt data that is preventing a login to a booking.
  13. It has to be refundable since it is a refund of monies paid which were not required. Same as a refund or rebate for anything else over-paid.
  14. It may vary a bit by ship, but IIRC approx 8:30am to 12:30pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm. It is roughly two 4-hour segments with a break so they can do a fresh setup. If booked for the whole day, you just ignore the break. I think you can stay often until close to 5:30am and you might get in by 8:00am. In my experience, it isn't exactly regimented.
  15. What do you mean by "entering". If you are logging in using Booking Number, you also supply Name and Birthdate.
  16. The bypass has been suggested in a couple of ways. Add your CC, order Medallions, delete CC. Others have entered an old expired gift card they had around or an expired CC - anything to get the entry to accept and move on.
  17. It would be nice if you added location to your profile, but I had not read very many words at all before realizing you are from UK. It is unfortunate the travel rules there - or one PCL takes advantage of or has a contrary policy - mean your deposits are non-refundable. Have you investigated whether the voyage you are booking (BTW, it would have been helpful to include ship and voyage you booked) is calling on your key port on another date, or has this port been permanently dropped? If there is another chance, I have read posts by other UK residents that you can make ONE change for a £100 fee. Perhaps this option is available to you?
  18. I think you have it now. The OP was asking about redeeming GC's on board - not about purchasing rules by AARP. I believe there will be a limit to amount of purchasing OBC with a GC, but not a limit when using a GC to pay off balance owing on stateroom account.
  19. I know. I know. For the laughing emojis, nothing is ever "settled" on this Princess Forum.
  20. Didn't know you were looking to place 3 in the cabin. There is the sofa bed in all the rooms. IDK how many cabins have extra berths. Not something I have been shopping for.
  21. Must be tricky to predict from voyage to voyage and night to night how many are going to be walk-ups versus other arrangements. Plus they are likely allowing at least 10 minutes grace on reservations. It's not perfect, but I bet some ships do it better than others.
  22. I do agree that @memoak is right about no one seeing it first hand. However, I would think the Sun Reserve Minis are going to blow all other Minis out the door. Therefore, @stevenr597, if you are familiar with the Edge cabin you mention and existing PCL Minis, I imagine that will guide you in advance of hearing direct reports. If I wanted to spend the bucks on a Reserve Mini, I'd be all over the new Sun.
