  1. Priority Disembarkation is really a nothing thing. It should really be called Priority Disembarkation Lounge as you get you own room with others in same CC Member Level or Cabin Type and they have some setup of snack/drink I think (I have not been in one in eons). Otherwise, a guest can depart the ship pretty much anytime they want/need. Just request the time you want or do self-walk-off.
  2. It's only "special" if guest is checked in and waiting to board prior to opening up the ship. Then it can help get you on first with Suite/Elite priority.
  3. So I presume they substituted the extra App in lieu of a Dessert. And it sounds like you were assessed two CD visits even though you did not have two full Prix Fixe meals. Or am I misunderstanding? I don't see how you could be charged only one visit and not pay anything extra.
  4. I am not sure what the order change for sushi means, but I would say any guest - including Premier - who orders beyond what is allowed in the Prix Fixe selections (type and quantity), then they would have an extra A La Carte charge for the additional item(s). IMO, it should never result in the entire order being charged A La Carte. A Premier could avoid the extra charge - IMO - if they dined and left and then lined up again to come back in for a second go. Afterall, they have UNLIMITED access and nothing the rules indicates a max count per day AFAIK.
  5. Sharing a Prix Fixe between a couple on PLUS is like getting four CD visits instead of two. This may be why they would want to curtail sharing of the benefit. It gets gray if guest 1 orders Prix Fixe and guest two orders an App or Dessert, paying a la carte. In this case, I think sharing should be allowed. Yes, it seems nickel and diming, but if eligible guests all double their visits, it makes it hard for other guests to get in - potentially. I see it from Princess side. I think if they varied the number of visits by cruise length, you'd have less folks looking to beat the system.
  6. What does "no additional charges" mean? Were you charged ONE Prix Fixe cover or TWO? Were you charged say, ONE Prix Fixe charge plus ONE item a la carte (the extra soup/salad). Not sure what you are telling us. They may have considered two Apps = one App + one Dessert, so it was a sub.
  7. With respect, the rules mean nothing to a guest on Premier package. Because CD is unlimited so it doesn't matter what you order up to the full Prix Fixe meal.
  8. Of course. All the CD locations cost the guest if ordering A La Carte. If guest doesn't want all the food, they may as well burn their CD credits and just tell the waiter not to bring something they don't want to eat. THAT should never result in a charge.
  9. All they meant was that you would be charged $ for ordering a la carte versus the Prix Fixe option. As to how it works, that has been well-hashed out here on other threads (there is a "prime" one for the new CD rules and talking about Alfredo's in particular). I have read ONE post where the forum member indicated the restaurant was going to allow them to share a single prix fixe order and only charge them ONE CD credit to the Plus plan. Technically, there is no sharing a Prix Fixe option without incurring an extra charge. It gets into gray areas real quick. I presume you saw all the original posting and discussion since you are a regular. Personally, I don't see why one person cannot order a Prix Fixe and the other order one A La Carte item and pay for it and then no problem. Should a couple choose to do that. It could be that a couple doesn't want to try and visit Alfredo's - or other CD locations - 4X per voyage in order to try and maximize the benefit. I can see a couple wanting to try that on a longer voyage because PCL Is very stingy and only gives TWO credits no matter how long the voyage is. Truth is, we just don't have very many live reports of Plus couples going to Alfredo's and testing the limits of the benefit. Most reports I have read just mention how deserted the place is compared to before.
  10. From under my snowbank I only learned of this organization from this thread and the PCL announcement.
  11. To modify the above, there is really no reason for anyone to consider purchasing the standalone beverage package unless no one wants internet or do not pay the CA (gratuities). Two Plus plans cost $120/day. Otherwise, one person is paying ~$77 + $16 + $15 = $108/day. Are you going to use OCEAN Now ordering? That is another flat $15 for the voyage. Are you going to use Casual Dining? Once the value is about $15. The non-drinker is paying $16 + $15/day = $31. Total cost is $139/day. Throw away one internet plan and you are at $124/day. Throw away both internet plans and you are at $109/day. It takes virtually nothing much to get to $120/day after that. Either go with no plan or both go Plus. Nothing else makes sense. Just figure out which items you will use and their cost. The difference between that and $60/day is the amount to compare to what alcohol and non-alcohol beverages you will likely consume.
  12. Hmmm... it appears Princess is locking up group people thinking you all do exactly the same thing. If I were you, I would contact DMW support via phone. Let them know about the issie and explain not everyone of 200 ppl is going to be doing the same thing all the time. Also, write CustomerRelations@PrincessCruises.com.
  13. It will make it easier for the magicians to create a puff of smoke when something needs to appear or disappear. They can run a pipe from the casino through the wall to the Spellbound stage.
  14. Never use the "Link My Booking" option. We don't even know why it is there. Your booking will already be linked to the App. You can login with Name, BD, Booking Number and try that. The Web version "should" work. Obviously, you got in or you wouldn't see your group res. You should delete the group res if you want to do your own thing. It looks like you are selecting the whole voyage option. You need to do individual nights and then select the day you are trying to book and then the time. It should warn you the existing res for that night will be canceled. IDK if a big group res is different and "locked in". Never heard of the issue before. See if you can delete individual nights from night 2 onwards. You have to do it a day-at-a-time to delete. As for getting something else, you have left this very late to be booking dining and many/most choices could be gone for a Private table for 1/2. You can be a walk-up on the ship if not finding the time you want.
  15. And it will be the same procedure/process for other currencies like GBP. AUD, NZD, EUR.
  16. You probably got an outsourced rep who was no expert and went off on a tangent.
  17. Doesn't seem right to me to take away the a la carte option.
  18. !0am is likely great as you might be moving a bit slower and such. I'd only worry about earlier if I was determined to book Sanctuary and thought there would be high competition.
  19. Heard. I wasn't trying to excuse him if that is what was going on. I did use the word "maybe".
  20. Thanks for information on how things are changing on the ship(s).
  21. Isn't this the typical $25/$50/$100 USD that PCL sells? You asked same on another thread. Was the USD on previous screen? I do agree they should indicate it even if it would seem obvious. What was the exchange rate used when you booked the cruise? Such as, if the cruise fare was $1,000 USD, did you pay $1,550 NZD? (Perhaps you are unaware of the exchange rate PCL is currently using). ETA: Getting $100 USD for $155 NZD is a pretty good deal right now because it would cost more than $10 NZD per hundred at today exchange rate. I'd jump at it if you are going to have expenses to cover on board.
  22. Maybe the DRO is "old school". I was on two ships last Fall and they had tablets with what I would call the ship's master DMW App where they could setup or change reservations. It was obvious that the younger hosts were the tech-savvy users versus the older generation managers.
  23. The first person is locked in from what I have read. However, I believe you can swap 2 and 3 and no more money is owed Princess since they collect from the primary booker. Then cancel #3 and new #2 owes money internally to former #2 for the fare difference. But IDK if that juggling is necessary. I do think it takes care of issues with PCL however. If nothing else, my missive will stimulate additional posts with details.
