  1. Agree. When Princess sells a cabin to Aussies and Kiwis for a cruise out of Sydney (for example), the CA is baked into the fare. When we book an Australia-based cruise here in North America, we are paying a cabin fare not including CA and we need to pay it either via the Plus Package or a la carte. In Australia, a Plus package costs less (when converted to USD) because it doesn't include CA (because it is covered by the base cabin fare).
  2. The person on the other end may be unreliable and non-expert. I would expect a CVP to have the latest and greatest information. Let's wait and see if more members post the same news. We already have TWO confirmations above, but we don't know if they happen to have the same CVP.
  3. Probably needed a refresh after some IT changes or data loads. No harm done it would appear.

  5. Oh my, talk about confusing. A slew of posts where it's like people on different wave beams. I am quite sure that @MissP22 is well acquainted with what both the Cruise Fare packages and the Standalone Beverage packages contain. Apparently, she thought @Lady Arwen was referring to a standalone alcohol package and I presume took her wording literally. I think we are all aware that there is no standalone package that is ONLY for alcohol (albeit there are standalone beverage packages that are strictly non-alcohol). So, @voljeep, the world still turns and the packages are what we know them to be.
  6. Although lots of plonk these days is bottled with screw top, there are lots of quality wines bottled that way. It can be a regional thing such as Australia which has embraced the usage big time. In Princess' case, they may be offering the lesser wines when admission is $10 or free.
  7. It is not necessary to have a QR code which is part of the App Boarding Pass screen, which you don't need either. It's really just reminder info for the guest. PCL check in can use it but not at all required.
  8. The only thing I would add is that ONE standalone beverage package plus other normal expenses like two Crew Appreciations plus at least some internet is virtually same or more than TWO Plus cruise fare packages.
  9. Yes, you link other guests as Travel Companions and then include everyone in a Dining Party. But they need to be booked together for SD reservation in order to be at one table is what I was saying.
  10. Presume you are joking as chocolates were a perk gone to save some money... nothing to do with Covid. Pub lunches are being held regularly. There was never any Elite OBC - it was a periodic recognition for longer term loyalty but I do acknowledge that recipients had to be Elite in order to achieve the yardsticks required.
  11. This is wrong and poor advice. Both couples need to be booked together - otherwise two reservations for two people are made. This isn't what they want - unless dining at separate tables and it takes up space for other guests who want to book.
  12. Stand your ground. Do your friends get something from the TA who sells the package? LOL. I have never bought the package and I have never had a problem booking SD reservations. You and your friends should share your booking codes with each other and setup each other a Travel Companions in the App. Your friends can book the SD using a Dining Party of all four of you and you can pay your own cover charges. You need to book as a party of for at SD location anyway, so one or the other couple needs to book for everyone.
  13. IMO, we are well past Covid that the former pandemic cannot be the reason. But IDK for certain.
  14. Maybe I don't get it as a male, but if you mean for ironing clothes, they have them in the laundry rooms for free to use there.
  15. Nor sure if Shorex would be the definitive knowledge base for this, but are you saying the implication is that the ship tour is never coming back?
  16. These are very basic questions. Why not spend some time researching Princess on their website and then come back with some more specific questions?
  17. What is YOUR definition of the best deal? Is it price alone?
  18. The best player odds in a casino are Craps and BJ (with a strategy). They've impacted BJ already with the change to 6:5 payouts on a BJ. Wouldn't surprise me if they are looking into a way to change the Craps odds. I prefer to play Texas Hold 'Em poker. Sure there is a rake from each pot, but I am playing other guests and not the House. After all, doesn't the House always win? (In the long run).
  19. You will have the shortest wait as a walk-up if you elect to share a table with other guests. If you tend to eat dinner later which is more of a thing in Europe than N.A., you should have much less wait if you want a private 2-top to dine alone. If I were you, I would ask the DR Host or Mgr where you go the first night which DR they recommend for walk-up with the shortest wait. No, you do not have to eat at the buffet with no reservation. If you are flexible and okay to share, the wait should be not so bad. You can also see if your fellow diners want to stick together and then the DR Mgr can likely keep you together at a set time each night and it will be so much easier as well. There is a post above as to how five women got together that way.
  20. You can do that. Buy the Pizza a la carte for $8.50 and save your CD credits for another time. If you are never going to get more of a meal, may as well burn the credits. I'd probably get two pizzas and take one to go. May as well get something out of it.
  21. Gotcha. Of course, as stated earlier, it doesn't matter what you or they do when guest is on Premier. The only charge I see is if a couple ordered a Prix Fixe meal each, plus an extra dessert. They should/would be charge for the extra dessert at a la carte cost. Same as ordering a drink with meal.
  22. Gotcha. Yes, that seems absurd and glad they got it quashed.
  23. Total cost is almost $77 with the added gratuity.
