  1. Saw it on just one PCL voyage. I am serious - it was a surprise and quite the costume for sure, even for FN. But it's all good - they were enjoying it so NP at all. The gentleman was formally dressed (suit and tie) on the SC nights.
  2. I'd check into the private van option mentioned. I bet it is way cheaper than 8X whatever PCL charges.
  3. As formal or informal as you would like them to be for you and your SO. Try to go with Smart Casual minimum and you will be fine. Also fine with tux and gown, top hat and tails, plus cane (seen that as well).
  4. Personally, I would call Princess and use the phone tree options to get to Ocean Ready help. IMO, TA's don't use the App unless they also sail a lot and it really isn't their job. Also, you won't be in a position to do any back-and-forth with the support people if they want to know things about your App and the steps you are taking. Bottom line, I think it is a waste of time to engage a TA for App issues.
  5. I wonder if the App cannot handle this many voyages for Medallion ordering. There have been other App issues related to multiple bookings. Just more poor IT design and not stress testing it IMO.
  6. I wonder if they will ever introduce organic foods and meats. Cood day in July I imagine.
  7. I tested with a Ref Deposit. Hold option gone online, but surely a TA or phone rep can do it.
  8. No. She is a PCL guest and one of the MTP's in 4 figures.
  9. Glad it was fairly painless to get it fixed. IDK for certain, but if you give a rep CC Member Number and they enter that, then perhaps the profile fields populate in POLAR record. Perhaps @jwattle, @ceilidh1, or the Atlanta guy with the scuba mask (sorry, brain block and I cannot find his handle) know about any auto-fill feature in POLAR.
  10. Where did you hear/read this, please> Even if changed to 24hrs, they would make an allowance for weekend or TA off work. Was this for a last minute kind of deal? They can have shorter than normal hold periods.
  11. It's true that EZ-Air can be a challenge at times to get the best fare. And experiences vary. For example when I was shopping our Rome fares last year, either Restricted cost more than Flexible or was an insignificant difference that it made no sense to use it. The Flexibility to re-fare with price drops has some value for sure.
  12. CANADA. USA. I think we pay a lot flying from here. Last year, I started on AC, but changed to AF and BA (Euro airlines) for much lower fares and all that happened with AC is the price went up from the date of opening bookings.
  13. Interesting - I am thinking this is because Air Transat is a low-budget carrier (used to only do charters). Most of the time when booking Economy overseas, you do get a bag per passenger included. As I indicated before, you may have to pay for Economy seat selection, depending on airline policy when using EZ-Air. EZ-Air may not be for all, but in your case it works to go with the airline. They wouldn't be a choice for me in EZ-Air or direct. Hope you have a great holiday.
  14. The other day, I was asked by @HMSDingy about using EZ-Air to Europe. Unfortunately, the thread is lost and I have been asked to re-post the information. So, here are your answers and others might benefit as well. Yes, HMS, I have used EZ-Air a number of times and it is especially beneficial for overseas flying. You book Flexible and can change airlines or re-price existing flights when price drops up to about 45 days before sail date. It would be a rare snow day in July to see a price drop in the last 60 days, however. In the Fall of 2022 we had a B2B2B + 1 (4 cruises) in Europe. I booked ASAP on EZ-Air and then monitored flights regularly (some might say obsessively) after that. I booked the outbound associated with our first cruise and the return with our last cruise. It has to be that way of course, but it is a great advantage if you can do the same because it allows making separate changes to each one-way flight if one direction has a price drop while the other may have gone up. Unlike booking with airlines, there is no penalty for booking one-way overseas using EZ-Air. To give you an idea of what might happen, I began with booking Business on AC to FCO from YYZ and Premium Economy (PE) on LH/AC return. I wanted Business for sure going over because of the lie-flat suites on an overnight flight. I won't take you through all the changes, but I began with a cost of $3,233 for outbound and $1,286 for return. (All costs in USD). I ended up with Business on AF (via CDG) for $1,705 going over and Business on BA (via LHR) for $1,725 coming home. That is Business each way for ~$1,710/pp round trip. Incredible deal I thought and also definitely the lowest fares possible for our trip dates that was offered on EZ-Air. The connections were not overly long at all and we had to have one connection anyway for FCO in order to fly Business. The only hassle was LHR Terminal 5 which had a lot of challenges in 2022 and IDK if it is better. I would prefer to pay somewhat more and connect elsewhere next time. Like @Lady Arwen, I would not choose Air Transat. I suppose they have something like PE class, but no true Business Class. I just don't trust them much although many report good experience. They did have some lower pricing when they would pop up in searches (not for Business, but mostly for Economy when searching for friends). I don't recall pricing, but it wasn't enough lower to tempt me for sure. Also, not sure if they had daily flights. Anyway, that's my two cents. As for seat selection, you can always select seats in EZ-Air when booking business class (BA may be an exception for some flights as they can be "difficult" or want to charge - even for BC). You can mostly select seats in PE class when booking. However, lots of airlines do not support selecting Economy seats in EZ-Air either because they want to charge for seat selection, so you do it on airline site later, or they require you to be ticketed first. Air Canada requires ticketing to select economy seats, but you can book PE and Business seats right away in EZ-Air steps. Just one example. You also asked about cancelling and re-booking. You don't actually cancel your flights first. You can go into EZ-Air anytime after having your booking and re-shop for new/changed flights. You go all the way through the booking steps to the end if you like. On the last page, you see your new total cost versus your existing cost. You either accept the new flight booking or keep what you have. Your existing booking is not cancelled until/unless you accept a new booking. You can bail out of the shopping steps at any point along the way. When making a replacement booking, you can change dates, airlines, class of seat, etc. Or you can re-shop the exact same thing you have to see if any price change. Note that if you re-fare a cruise with an EZ-Air booking, you should make sure your TA or Princess rep is aware of that so they can preserve the air booking and not potentially lose a good price on you. As soon as you have a booking, go to the airline website(s) and retrieve booking and make sure your name, birthdate and contact info get registered and also check for FF member number being entered. I would also keep an eye on the airline website for any flight changes, including equipment changes. An equipment change generally means your seat can be lost or auto-selected somewhere else. The faster you spot this and act, the better choice of seat you will have.
  15. Even if something was missing or out of stock, it should be replaced by something else such that the total content remains 10 + 10. Otherwise, I'd ask for replacement.
  16. I wonder if he was cast in that role due to his role on Three's Company which came to TV earlier that year.
  17. That is true, but in the end it doesn't really matter how or why PCL screwed up. The bottom line is that the package cost for Plus and Premier has not changed.
  18. It depends on the airline. In the USA, the airlines still use the term FC, but it is really Business for domestic travel and would only get a FC experience if travelling overseas. In Canada, Air Canada doesn't have FC - just Business for domestic (includes USA and North America). The BC is quite elevated for international flights and they now use the term Signature. International BC is like FC. Other international airlines have a FC section on some planes for overseas, along with their BC product. Most airlines have PE for overseas flights. Check out the airline websites for ones you are considering and you will easily find out details of their service classes and on which aircraft types.
  19. Not really. The Princess flyer was not a notice about a package increase. Rather it was a poorly constructed piece of advertising material used to send to the wrong set of guests. There is nothing to argue about that piece of advertising. There is no price increase.
  20. Advice is to tell the host before they scan you that your plan is to order a la carte this visit so they don't charge the Prix Fixe cover charge.
  21. You need to supply the itinerary with dates and departure times from ports for accurate information. ETA: You gave enough info that I could look up your cruise itinerary but it is best to include in your post so we can just respond. FN #1 - a no-brainer for Nov 16. It is your 2nd night out and a Sea Day and they always schedule the first one ASAP as the theme is Captain's Welcome Aboard. They do the champagne flute tower in the Piazza that night. FN #2 - normally, this would be a no-brainer for Nov 22 since it is a Sea Day. Will never be Nov 24 Sea Day since that is your last night. There is a small chance they could schedule it on Nov 23 simply because that is Thanksgiving Day for USA and vast majority of guests will be Americans. What takes me away from it is the 5:00pm departure time (all-aboard of 4:30pm). Usually, if they are doing FN on a port day, look for a 4:00pm or earlier departure. If you want to check before getting on the ship, look for the Activities schedule in the App close to sail date and they will identify Formal Portraits or Casual Portraits and that is your indicator for the dinner. Not to say the schedule will be 100% accurate all the time.
  22. Good point, but those are pop-up and handled like SD even though they come under the CD category. Who takes the res? DINE line only? Can one's DR HW or DR Host book a res using their tablet system?
  23. These threads drive me nuts because folks get sent off into tangents over nothing. Confusion and consternation rises. Calm analysis indicates no issue. The pricing is $60 USD/pp/day and $80 USD/pp/day. There is no increase. Yes, it will increase in the future, but we don't know when. Case closed.
