  1. Well that is common sense considering a couple of their NEW ships have up to 5/6000 - can't compare that to the Vic or the Lizzy .
  2. When you mention 'Check -In' we assume you are referring to the local (part time) check-in agents at the Terminal. Usually Voyage Sales ( who are responsible for the Cunard World Club ) deal with the pins .
  3. I was referring to those bottles of wine that have been held back from guests on ' Open Dining',when a sommelier has to go hunting for either Red or White I don't experience that being on fixed dining , Red is already on my table and the white is close by in the bucket . I'll probably always start with the white, as I may not have had an alcoholic drink before arriving into the restaurant ( unless it's a formal evening) due to pre dinner dancing in the Queens Room, so I just want to get stuck right in 😉 I build up a good relationship with my wait staff and the sommelier , they know my preferences even before I ask. Much easier on fixed dining than on open .
  4. I think he is teasing our American cousins who appear to always receive perks , whilst us poor Brits don't .
  5. Pleased that your wine was eventually brought to you , however, I don't want to be bothered having to explain if red or white , I just want the Sommelier to reach into the bucket and Pour.😉 lol
  6. I've never booked the open dining concept for a variety of reasons , one of which you have just mentioned. Speaking with friends I understand the wine service can be a bit of a hassle , trying to flag down a sommelier and then the long wait while they go off hunting for the bottle. Much prefer fixed dining, dedicated wait staff who I've built up a relationship with, who use my name and remember my preferences, and a sommelier who is one step ahead and has the wine chilling in an ice bucket nearby the table.
  7. I certainly received one in November & December 2022 & Jan 2023. I stand corrected the title is " Your Ocean Awaits" It's a much smaller version from the previous booklets. I really need to get the hang of posting photos here , however , someone will come to my rescue and produce a photo of one.
  8. A different version of the booklet - 'Your Voyage Awaits' is still being sent out , however, NO luggage labels.
  9. Why on earth are you worried , you are already guaranteed a stateroom on your crossing ( part of the particular booking you opted for ) I and many other customers have been known not to have been allocated a stateroom until one has arrived at the Check-in desk. Stop worrying , worry more over how many Jackets you are going to pack 😅 Edited to add: If you have no stateroom allocation on the day of your journey down to the cruise terminal, Attach luggage labels with your Name and Voyage Number 'clearly printed' - Drop your luggage off to the porters in the usual way - your luggage will find it's way to your allocated stateroom, no problem .
  10. They most certainly are , however, in conversation with the senior housekeeper I understand post covid Cunard have been having problems with their supplier ( probably coming from Asia) In November & December 2022 they were on request , in January 2023 they were standard in the Britannia category. If you use them ( personally I don't) then just make a request through your stateroom steward/ess
  11. That is in Barcelona, and an isolated incident . That wouldn't be the procedure in the UK ex Southampton or Brooklyn USA
  12. To be honest, it is better to have a Hard Copy, ( as back-up) far too many folk are holding the lines up 'Scrolling Back a Forth' at the check-in desks, and eventually when boarding. A Plea from a check-in agent (when on my last cruise in December) "Please encourage people to present a hard copy at check-in", Apparently a passenger checking -in for a P&O cruise misplaced her smart phone , either on the train or in the Taxi en route to the terminal .
  13. When you take your 'Second Cunard Cruise' you will automatically become a member of the Cunard World (loyalty level ) Club' , You wont have an option to back out. 😉
  14. To be very honest I find the 'New Plan' is much better, now that I'm use to it. As mentioned in other replies just buy one 24 Hr at $20 and login late afternoon ,better still log in every other day depending on the length of your itinerary. I just wish Cunard would add an additional $5 to the Diamond plan $135 , I'd be able to stretch out the 24 Hr daily rate to 7 days rather than six at the moment .
  15. To answer your question ; Pre pandemic usually there were 'Three' cocktails receptions. An open invitation for all guests 'irrespective of loyalty level', referred to as the Captains cocktail party and a further two receptions ie Cunard World Club party (usually in the evening) and the Senior officers party (usually pre lunch at 11am) Invites for these two receptions are sent to loyalty level guests. It appears since Post pandemic the usual Captains Reception ( open to all ) has not yet been reintroduced , however, having said that, in my experience there is never any consistency in the onboard product across the fleet of Cunard, things are often hit or miss depending on the itinerary .
  16. Agree, it all depends on the Ship and Itinerary, one will need to refer to the daily onboard program.
  17. Evening Theatre performances are usually at 8pm and 10.15pm What ever evening dining preference you decide to choose, you are guaranteed to see a show. Having said that, the evening performances in the Royal Court theatre are not always set in stone , occasionally the times could be adjusted by 15mins either way, it all depends on the length of the performance, for example, the performance 'Top Hat' is one hour ( most evening shows are aprox 45 minutes) The Theatre times are occasionally adjusted on the final evening before disembarkation , for example, those guests on late dining the show suggested is usually at around 7pm whilst those on an early dining 8.45pm/9pm. I'm afraid you are going to have to managed all this on the day, it all depends on which ship in the Cunard fleet as there is no consistency across the fleet .
  18. Sorry I'm afraid I don't, as I've never booked an Ocean view cabin . Sorry I'm unable to comment .
  19. You mention fb messenger, have you tried telephoning Cunard UK direct otherwise go on line and check out ' Celebration Packages Cunard'. All the information you need is available for booking, eg Embarkation gifts, Birthdays and Luxury gift packages etc.
  20. 😂 😂 " Yet around the pool and Lido, you could get anything served without batting an eyelash" Correct, just as I've been saying , "There's life outside the Grills" 😉
  21. You bring your own or they are available for sale onboard .
  22. That's because the majority of your fellow guests were Brits, and possibly seasoned Cunarders . 😉
  23. Nothing has changed , 'Gala or Themed' evenings are still classified as Formal Evenings. If the guest does not want to enter into a sense of occasion on these evenings , then there are other venues set aside for those who prefer a more casual evening.
  24. Please don't get me started on this nonsense , I believe it's an American thing , don't tell me it's now come to UK cruise ships 🤦‍♂️ , any Cunarders on this board , don't start introducing this to Cunard 😂. leave it to the likes of Disney cruises . There is an uproar at the moment on a particular Seabourn cruise forum , where some of the guests are not amused at their ship being littered with these things . I've never really understood the logic behind this duck hiding , are you expected to make contact with Mr & Mrs Bloggs and then socialise with them one evening 🤔 ...........If they are accommodated in the top 'Grand Suite I might think about it ...lol 😂
