  1. Was the Purser's desk aware you are a 'US resident' Not too sure why the 'Pursers desk' have got involved and are apparently now responsible for answering questions on behalf of the Voyage Sales Office . This is something new and very irritating considering they have no background into sales , however, I just by pass them , walk-in and speak directly to the wonderful Dragana, Yo Yo or their colleagues, whenever I notice they are not engaged with another guest .
  2. FCD's are still available to purchase for US residents and also for Japanese residents @ $300 just had this confirmed via corporate sales manager Carnival House.
  3. I wouldn't get too excited about this new Starlink concept ! I experience it just having been installed on a recent Silversea cruise some months ago. The Wifi connection was no more different from what I've experience in over 50+ cruises with Cunard/Seabourn . Please let me know when you eventually come across a Cruise Line with exceptional wifI connection when at sea. 😉
  4. re the Wine packages ( which I am a very big fan of 👍) No need to select all the wines at once, you will be issued with a booklet from which you tear out a voucher and hand it to 'your Sommelier' whenever you need a bottle replenished . A book of vouchers, payment and a list of the wines on offer for either Captain's or Commodore selection are available on the 'set up tables in the public areas on Embarkation day ' or from any Sommelier in the Lido or your personal Sommelier in the main restaurants. re OBC, your obc will be deducted from your onboard account each time you present your key card for 'any purchases' eg bars, wine packages , Spa treatments, Shoreside tours etc ( unable to use for the Casino)
  5. Cunard Line is, and most other cruise lines are back to normal capacity . It's really time we moved on from the last couple of years.
  6. There is NO way you'd get me wearing a wrist based medallion , it'll clash wiv me Rolex .
  7. Well the galley chefs would often have 'free samples of lite bites' on offer .....😅 remember, some folks haven't eaten for the past hour ..lol 😉
  8. NE John, you have paid a premium to 'cruise in style' , you don't need to be bothering with the 'My Voyage gadget app thing', put your i phone away, the concierge desk is your go to place. Call me old fashioned but I prefer interacting face to face with the wonderful crew members whenever I need anything, not only that I'm addressed by my name and nothing is too much trouble for them.
  9. No, not available which is very odd considering that in the 'Maiden Year of QM2' it was available on the TV. If you want to bothered with your smart phone you can track it on My Voyage intranet .
  10. Yes, certainly pack you dance shoes there are many solo gentlemen guests, excellent dancers like myself who attend the 12 noon dance lessons where you can be sure of male or lead partner .
  11. I can confirm there are no magnifying mirrors on QE or Q.Vic , a good friend of mine always packs her own 😉
  12. Have to agree with you. To be honest I was delighted that it was pushed back a little later in the year , the thought of cruising early January and almost immediately after we had just gotten over the Christmas & New Year Celebrations, I think I'd have had to give my liver a little rest 🍾🍸
  13. A question that is frequently asked and many stress about it. If you are having to rely on public transport ie trains etc and if you can managed to arrive at a 'sensible early time' of no more than two hours before your original check-in time you will not be turned away from the terminal building . You maybe asked to take a seat until called forward to the check-in desk . Just to clarify, Check-In and Embarkation are two separate procedures, therefore after check-in there is a possibility you'll be asked to take a seat and wait for the embarkation announcement.
  14. 😅 😅 Oh no, just think you would have been at the top of my guest list ... I'll be arranging the Mothers of all suite parties in my Q4, It'll be the place to be seen . lol 😉
  15. Well at least I woke you up . 😅
  16. Hey Victoria 2 , don't be a 'Debbie Downer', at least celebrate that Cunard Line is now able to move forward towards 'some sense of normality' even if it's only to sending out a Cunarder magazine. For the past three years ( 2020) we have seen a reduction in the Cunard Brand , from the onboard cocktail receptions ( I understand you don't attend them, however ,many of us do) Hosted tables, Gentlemen dance hosts and the list could go on. Let's celebrate ! Cunarder Magazine is back .
  17. I believe the USA have their own edition.
  18. Thank You 👍 It's a former colleague of mine Jag Sihra who was responsible for the cover design, including a very interesting article ( page 12) of her work for Cunard creating the luxurious World Voyage gift collections on Silk .
  19. Unless your guest is from the Grills the answer is No. I travel quite often in Britannia Club , occasionally on a table for one and the answer you will receive from the duty Maitre'd will be "I'm afraid not" Britannia Club just like Grills is an enhanced product, fellow guests have paid a premium to dine there. You have paid for solo occupancy and opted to sit at a Two Top where there is always going to be a second chair unused. You can occasionally dine in Britannia by arrangement.
  20. Future cruise deposits on Cunard Line, available from the onboard sales office (usually £50 and decide on the itinerary within one year) Was discontinued about two years for those in the UK .
  21. STAND BY FOR AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CUNARD . I'm not saying anything , my lips are sealed 😷 😉
  22. You would be out of your mind paying for bottled water on Cunard. What is your itinerary, is it port intensive ? if so, then buy shoreside. I often take onboard a dozen or so 500ml bottles , handy for carrying around during the day. You can even take into the restaurant if necessary just to say Grills and Britannia Club provided complimentary bottled water in the stateroom and will be replenished daily.
  23. You need to contact and speak with the Cunard UK call centre, ( Carnival House Southampton) I believe there is an error or, you are doing something wrong . I can confirm ALL solo guests pay the 'single supplement' of approx 175% for a double stateroom. The price quoted for the 'New' single staterooms are complety different from the double staterooms
