I thought Princess & HAL were under the same umbrella. My PCC told me I could buy standard which covers 80% cancel for any reason but we aren’t going until next year so I didn’t pursue it.

Please let us know. I thought we could still purchase standard cancel for any reason through Holland America just not the premium?

Ours only shows on our statement from our PCC for our February cruise. Doesn’t show on the App until onboard as far as I know.

There’s a Starbucks within walking distance of the port.

For our cruise in November on the Eurodam if you had the HIA there is a form to fill out in Neptune lounge. Otherwise it’s the honor bar. We found it very convenient as we could grab cans of pop for our fridge using the form with HIA.

Maybe if everyone complained the cruise line would start doing this themselves again. So many complaints.

Yikes, I feel your pain. I can’t sleep on a plane either. It seems sometimes I’m so tired & start to nod off & something happens. I do find it takes a few more days to recover from longer flights than when I was younger 😂

I was thinking it was lucky it was the son because if it was me I don’t know what I’d do besides freak out! I am glad you got to enjoy the day in our city and the weather cooperated. Sounds like you did get lots of fun here. Hope the red eye flight went smoothly.

I have, since day 1, always been impressed with the floral arrangements on HAL ships. I know I’ll be using some of my OBC to order on the ship for our cruise in February.

So was it HAL or the 3rd party you booked with that made the error? Glad it worked out for you.

Really appreciate your updates. I wonder if the owners of the dogs will have an extra cleaning fee charged to their cabin. I certainly hope so.

@Haljo1935 thanks for those photos/info about airport transfer. One issue is we aren’t domestic but I’ll definitely check when we get on the ship if anything works. We have lots of OBC so wouldn’t mind using some of that.

Really enjoyed following along on your cruise. Lots of great info. We will be in San Diego for a cruise next month.

We have been there several times but because we are doing the 35 day cruise will have more luggage & carry on than normal. We just would have preferred to check it somewhere. We will take the latest we can to get off the ship and I guess if we have to will just go really close by to grab a bite. I will double check again once on the ship if we can take their tour then to airport but doubt it. Thanks though!

@DAllenTCY is there anywhere to store luggage at the cruise port after a cruise? We have a later flight out of San Diego to Canada so can’t do that luggage transfer thing as our airline isn’t listed. Plus we can’t do a HAL tour/transfer because of the timing of our departure either apparently. We were just hoping to walk to a restaurant for lunch maybe but not lugging 2 suitcases (returning from a South Pacific cruise). Thanks.

What a fabulous cruise you’ve planned! We love the Eurodam & were on her in November for a 10 day Caribbean cruise. We also had the HIA. We dined at Tamarind, Pinnacle (for supper & lunch) and the Canaletto. ALL were wonderful-the food & service! Hope you try them all since you’re on so long & that you also enjoy them. Have a great cruise.

I love the towel animals but missed the eyes so on our November Eurodam cruise brought eyes 😁 I agree, HAL laundry is the best.

I think economy & premium economy is the premium has a bit extra leg room and closer to the front of the plane. (Not positive though). We have only used Flight Ease once before & I looked on Google to find which flights/airlines I wanted then called Flight Ease to see if pricing was same or not. I’m not much help but hopefully others will chime in with their experience/opinions.
