AARP Raises Limit on Gift Card Purchases
Pluto_fan replied to Rick&Jeannie's topic in Princess Cruises
Thank you all for the helpful information! Final payment for our first Princess cruise is next month, so I'll be buying gift cards through AARP today and March 1! Also wanted to share my gift card tip...we shop at Kroger and they frequently offer 4 times fuel points for gift card purchases. I bought a $500 Princess gift card to apply to our cruise, which earned 2000 fuel points. 1000 fuel points gets you $1.00 off per gallon of gas, up to 35 gallons, so we will save $70 on gas with two fill ups. To purchase the gift card I used a credit card that, this quarter, is offering 5% back on grocery store purchases, so that will be another $25 off. Net cost of the $500 gift card is $405. 😀 -
Thanks for your input. The problem I'm running into is that the one person is a child. I don't think it would be difficult to book either of the two adults coming from different places independently. I will try calling to ask. As as aside, since I am working with a travel agent, can I have them do that, or do people who use travel agents book EZair themselves anyway?

I'm considering whether we want to use EZair for our cruise on the Sapphire Princess next June, Whittier-Vancouver. We have booked two cabins, one for DH and me and the other for our kids, ages 25, 23, and 15. DH and I and our teen will be flying from DFW, while the big kids will be coming from Chicago and Pittsburgh (at their own expense I hope 🙃). From an initial look at the Princes/EZair website, it doesn't want to let me book flights for the teen "alone". Has anyone else encountered this issue, and is there a work-around? I think including the teen in our cabin would require the four adults swapping cabins (DH and I are in a cabin for 2), which I'm guessing would require a cancel and re-book. Any other options or suggestions? Thank you!

Following this thread in case anyone comes across an Amex offer! Thanks!

ALMOST live. Sapphire Princess. 10 day Mexican Riviera. Oct 23rd

Thank you for the helpful and enjoyable trip report! -
Yes, Pluto the dog 😊 I spent way too much time on the DISboards before joining CC, and kept the same screen name. We have been to the Florida and California parks several times, and were annual passholders at DLP for a year when we lived in Belgium. I need to start planning an extensive trip to Asia to round out our experiences!

Thanks to everyone for the knowledgeable input on this. We'll be sailing out of Whittier and I'm trying to figure out the best way to incorporate a visit to Seward beforehand, so this is all helpful to me!

Thanks to everyone who has provided helpful information on this topic! I have a question on the "four ships" point. I'm hoping to visit Skagway on June 24, 2023, on the Sapphire Princess. Also scheduled for that day are the Carnival Luminosa, HAL Volendam, Seven Seas Explorer, and Viking Orion. None of them are massive ships, and the latter two are under 1000 passengers each. Is it reasonable to hope that two medium ships, a small ship, and two very small ships could be accommodated? Thanks!
