  1. Good afternoon, It is another frustrating day working on my sons estate. I have a judges order that I am administrator and can act on his behalf. I went to sell his car and the dealership said I had to go get it registered in my name first. When I previously went to the DMV they said all I have to do is sign the title. The dealership said there was no signature or notary on the administrator paperwork. Luckily I had friend who is a paralegal with me who said all judges orders are electronically signed now and judges don’t need to be notarized because they supersede any other paperwork. I left things with them to figure it out. I will await their call. If my friend wasn’t with me I am sure I would have been in tears.
  2. I am glad my Roll Call for my first solo cruise in May is very active. I feel like I will know people right away. I find lately roll class are hit or miss.
  3. Good morning, Lots of early activity for clocks moving ahead. I would still be in bed but I have to get DGS to his soccer game. He is really dragging this morning. Happy birthday to anyone celebrating today. Prayers to those on care list. I need to get DGS moving or we will be late.
  4. Good morning, Another gray gloomy day in Kansas. It is hard to get motivated with weather like this. I had a dream last night I accidentally got my cast wet and they took it off early. Hmmm wishful thinking. I loved my Fanny packs. So easy to wear and have both hands free and no strain on your neck. They are back in fashion but as a cross body bag. I have gotten lazy with my lasagna and use ready made Rao’s sauce. Everyone seems to like it and a lot less work. Have a great weekend everyone.
  5. I cruised SA twice in March and it was great. Very few kids were seen.
  6. I just got a call that a dear friend from medical school died this morning. She had the same cancer that my DH died from. Ocular melanoma is a rare form of eye cancer and the only thing it has in common with skin melanoma is the name. There is no cure. It seeds to other areas almost immediately. The speed at which it kills you is based on the genetics and how aggressive it is. My husbands showed up in his liver 6 years after diagnosis and he died 20 months later. Hers showed up in her liver 20 years after diagnosis and she died 4 years later. We were both 36 when we started medical school so we bonded as the atypical student. She was an amazing person.
  7. Happy Friday all, Fridays do not have the same emotional impact it did when I was working. I am looking at one of the new Legendary voyages in HA. It is a 27 day Amazon cruise in 2025. I am looking for any input if cruising the Amazon is worth it and if HA is the right cruise line. Have a great weekend.
  8. Good morning, A misty miserable morning here. I kept putting off grocery shopping but now I have to do it in the rain. Luckily my rain jacket fits over my cast. I met up with some friends yesterday I had not seen for months. It was nice but I think almost harder on them seeing me without DH. Those firsts are always difficult. You get that sad hesitant look to see how I am doing. In one week it will be one year since he died. He was a hot rodder and loved to drive his Nova. I kept the mustang but sold the Nova because I could not reach the pedals with the modifications he made. We are planning a car ride to a place we would go to grab lunch and sit outside to talk around the cars. Fingers crossed the weather is good. I will need to get on detailing the Mustang it is a dusty mess. Debbie the recipes look delicious. It is one of my favorite meals. Roy I hope the test results will be helpful. Terri I hope you are feeling better today. have a great day everyone.
  9. Haha, you are like me I overthink and hem and haw trying to decide the best deal. Good luck in your decision. Whatever decision you make will be the right one because you chose it.
  10. I have read conflicting reports on whether it is refundable or not if you cancel. You might look up old CO threads.
  11. Some TA ‘s are not familiar with club orange as well as some HAL agents. You may need to push until you get the answers you want.
  12. Good morning, It is a cloudy gray morning with rain expected. I should be back home before it starts. Happy Birthday Bob! I hope you have lots of fun things planned today. Thanks to all that keeps this thread going. Prayers and good wishes to those in need. Have a great day.
  13. Another way to approach it is to talk to the patient advocate and describe your experience. This will push it up the chain of command. Ask that they write up an incident report if they haven’t. I will add it is ok if you don’t want to do this. I know it takes energy and whatever decision you make is the right one.
  14. I stayed in the Haven on the Norwegian Joy last November. It was great. I loved the Haven restaurant and they had both indoor and outdoor seating. The butler was super attentive and there was a well stocked haven lounge with lots of goodies. I have only done the Retreat on the Infinity and was not super impressed. It is definitely like comparing apples to oranges. I would sail in the Haven again in a heartbeat if the price was right.
  15. Yes it is an antibiotic in the class called cephalosporins used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Unless you are allergic you should not have a problem. It just makes me so mad that this happens when there are so many checks in place to prevent this. Not a comfort for you I am sure but there are procedures in place that when this happens it is reviewed by the hospital and if it is a serious mistake that causes harm it does get reported to the state. I sat on the committee for my hospital for years. This will get thoroughly investigated.
  16. Oh no @Cruzin Terri! My DH had so many medication errors that I wrote out meds he should and shouldn’t take in a sheet protector and pinning it to his nightgown front. He was so out of it after his procedures he still at times could tell them wrong med. please let us know how it goes.
  17. Good morning all, Lots of early Dailyites this morning. Thanks for the rice recipes. I love fried rice. I freeze lots of meals so I do eat lots of frozen foods. I have not been to today’s port. I had a failed attempt in 2019 and it is on the list for the Grand Australian cruise next year. I have a great dentist but still have extreme anxiety when I go. Prayers and best wishes to all in need. Have a great day everyone!
  18. I really envy people who can be in inside cabins. I am claustrophobic and can not do it. I will be doing an OV on the Volendam for the Grand Australian cruise but chose it on the promenade deck where I am steps from outside. If I am successful with OV it will open up more affordable solo cruises.
  19. Good morning, I almost hate to admit it that I had a great sleep last night. My DGS had a sleepover with me and we slept well. Me 8 hours and he slept 12 hours. His parents are jealous, they never get that break at home. Roy, I may have missed it when I was out of town did you get your sleep study results? I love pot roast and may try it for today. I will eat off it for several days. I used to cook a big meal on Sundays for all to enjoy. I am slowly getting back to cooking for one. When will the San Diego terminal remodeling be done? I sail out of San Diego next January. So many sad pet stories of late. Prayers out to those losing their best friends. I was the only one of 6 kids who was not named after someone. I never asked my parents why. I think we all have multiple personalities based on the situation and who we are with. I often told my children when they were snuggling with my mom and getting whatever they wanted that she was not the woman who raised me! Now I can truly say I turned into my mother. Have a great Sunday everyone.
  20. Thanks Rich for posting the menus. I have food allergies and I get worried there won’t be a lot to choose from. I can see that at times MDR won’t work but I can find what I like in the Lido.
  21. Do they separate the light from darks before washing?
  22. I think if we keep posting the thread will stay alive even if they don’t make a sticky.
  23. Good morning, I am back from Vegas and way behind on the Daily. I am sending hugs and well wishes to all that need it and will catch up later. I had a great time. I was born in the middle of 4 brothers. The DB and DSIL I met in Vegas was such a god send when my DS died in August. I was in the middle of moving when he died and they came and finished packing me up and helped moved me. It was good to see them under happier circumstances. We cried we laughed and all felt better when we parted ways. My DS played drums and marched 6792C358-B278-497E-A76C-2B87E0DF2410.MOV and then taught drum lines for DCI (Drum Corp International). You age out at 23 but he taught drum line for 5 more years. At his Celebration of life his snare drum line who had not played together for 21 years played and left an empty snare for him. It was a beautiful tribute.
