  1. Yes, it works but both users need to make sure they are always connected to wifi. Also, it is more reliable to message one person at a time rather than group messaging.
  2. I was on the transatlantic Journey cruise, and we definitely got priority debarkation. They offered early luggage tags or meet in the dining room for self-carry. For embarkation, they called Suites first and then boarding group numbers.
  3. You can check in and then wait inside the terminal for everyone to get there before you board. No one will force you to get on the ship. I would not wait outside in July!
  4. I have rented a car from Budget at MCO/Port Canaveral before. Yes, drop off the passengers and luggage at the port and then return the rental van to the Budget office. It is much easier to take the Budget shuttle back to the port if it's just one or two people versus 10 people plus luggage. Always remember to keep your passport/wine/soda in your carry on and don't give it to the porters. Check-in is at 12:01 am EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) on July 8. Some people stay up until midnight to get an early check-in time but other's don't care. It's up to your group. If anyone is Platinum or Diamond, they can check in on July 6. The Faster to the Fun cabin is able to use the Priority Check-in Line at the port and can arrive earlier than the check-in time on their boarding pass. They also have a different waiting area in the port. They are not required to sit in that area if everyone wants to sit as a group. Each minor checking in should be with an adult assigned to their cabin. Plan accordingly when deciding who to send back with the rental van. Otherwise they will need to wait until that adult returns to the port. Have fun!
  5. She can be a no-show. I found it best to not mention it at check-in. I let Guest Services know once on board.
  6. I am a long time anytime dining fan but after my last cruise, I want to try late dining again. The services at ATD seem so rushed and disconnected. I think you can easily see the early shows/comics and then eat dinner.
  7. 1. No self-service laundry, only send out laundry. Your clothes are washed separately from other guest and general housekeeping items. I hope they add some ironing rooms in the future. 2. Yes to expanded menus 3. The gelato is an upcharge but it was cheaper than the gelato places in Europe. They did offer free gelato in the buffet on one day. 4. Tomodoro offers breakfast burritos as well as huevos rancheros. 5. La Strada is only open on sea days and worth a try. The grilled vegetables were delicious but I avoided the salads as they looked like they had sat in the sun for too long. 6. I never knew about the wax museum but I did see that they removed the karaoke rooms at the front of deck three. Enjoy the ship, she is beautiful.
  8. Yes, they will issue new keys for you. It's best to bring all adults plus the person being moved to guest services when making the request. Your mom needs to give them permission to move someone into her room and that person needs to agree to be moved. If that person is a minor child, the parent of that child should be present.
  9. There is a non-smoking annex with slot machines and table games. Go through the mid-ship elevator bank and turn right, then left.
  10. In the past, I have been able to edit the name of the 2nd person in the cabin by logging into My Cruise Manager at carnival.com.
  11. It might depend on the agent. My son (minor at the time) was once stopped from checking in until I arrived since he was in my room. I was parking the car. His dad/my husband was with him but assigned to a different room. The agent wanted me to be present to check in my son since I was the adult assigned to the room with the minor. In your scenario, your wife should attempt to be present at check-in with the 7 year old or even check-in before him.
  12. There are plenty of lounge chairs on the Venezia and multiple sets of stacked chairs not being used. I think it depends on the steward and how you ask!
  13. I watched 80 for Brady on the plane ride to the cruise, so the fanny pack got renamed as the "strap on".
  14. The Fanny Pack and a ship pin. We also received a Venezia Picture and a tote bag made from recycled plastic.
  15. What a fun surprise! I’m on this cruise also. We got into Barcelona this morning at 6 am after flying ATL to JFK to BCN. Jet lag is tough but tomorrow should be better. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to say Hi! in person.
  16. Ugh! You seem to be hitting one snag after the other. Can you track bags on the app and put in information to have them delivered to the hotel? That baggage line looks brutal. You are reinforcing my plan to carry on my suitcase. I will be less stressed if it stays in the cabin with me!!
  17. Aside from the tourist shops, I could live in this town. The narrow passageways and plants/flowers are incredible. I got the same email from Carnival, and I think the TLDR was: "When there are so many of you, you're not that special!" My dog has heterochromia too.
  18. Sweet! At first glance, I thought you had a gallon of frozen sangria!
  19. So excited to follow along! I am on the Venezia Transatlantic. We leave Friday for Barcelona.
  20. I don't think you are supposed to arrive earlier than the check-in appointment time printed on your docs. Plus, it's a Journey's cruise where a large portion of the passengers are Platinum/Diamond. It sounds like you need a PDF editor!
  21. Looking forward to following along! My DH and I are on the Venezia TA also. We arrive in Barcelona on 5/27. I think I am more excited to read about your train travel. I would love some pointers on how to arrange train travel through Europe.
  22. Those are good tips! It's tough because when kids are hungry they are "right now hungry." It would be nice if Shaq's, Guy's or even Blue Iguana were open later. The buffet might have been able to help you if you mentioned the kid's allergies. I know when my kids were younger that they occasionally ate dinner in the buffet with the kids club. The menu looked like chicken nuggets, fries, etc. You can call the Special Needs department before your next cruise to find out who to talk to for each ship.
  23. I am using Fly2Fun for the first time for our May Transatlantic cruise on the Venezia. Fly2Fun offered the best one-way fair to Barcelona as flights to Europe are very expensive right now. I can log into the Iberia website and see my booking and change seats if needed. I was able to book the flight myself from the Cruise Manager page. It is one of the drop-down categories. It depends on the airline if you can choose seats at the time of booking or if that has to be done later. Check prices for self-booking your air and then call your PVP to see what Fly2Fun has to offer.
