  1. Just noticed your luggage tag. We will be your next-door neighbors on the TA next week (11103). We have a one-hour drive so no worrying about flight delays. See you soon. Ed
  2. Do not think it will be that hot in November but if you book deck 11 stay away from cabins 1101 to 1113. They have a service elevator and they run food and supplies down to the Tuscan Grill. The outside door by 1101 (my cabin) was opening and slamming shut all afternoon and early evening add to that the carts up and down the hall. Not very good at all.
  3. I agree stopped booking direct years ago. Found it too hard to deal with different answers from Celebrity plus the wait time. I can just email my TA and she takes care of it or call and she answers the phone or calls me back the same day. The bonus is group rates and we always get extra OBC over what Celebrity gives.
  4. I sometimes do not want an appetizer... lots of other items to order. My upcoming cruise is 15 nights in a Celebrity Suite on the Apex we have 4 specialty restaurants booked to break things up a bit for dinner. 65 cruises and the food was very good on all of them even Carnival. My wife thinks Celebrity has the best food and she is an excellent cook so Celebrity is our cruise line. As for me, I like the E-Class ships so I am happy.
  5. there are also the standard everyday appetizers that he did not mention. I would have plenty to pick from but I would do the escargot.
  6. Here is a recent review of the food just from the pictures I can not wait. My daughter was also on the Apex in January and she said the food was excellent so we all might want to wait before we say the food is not very good. Sure looks great to me. https://thetravelsofmrsb.com/2023/02/08/dining-on-celebrity-apex/
  7. I agree. Just wanted to point out what I call a food hog. It was my post that he or she was responding to.
  8. They would not eat like that if they had to pay for the Extra 2 meals they ordered. Yes, we are all on vacation but sitting on your chair costs nothing. We cruised with friends every night at dinner the couple would order 2 dinners each plus a pasta dish to share of course this was in addition to an appetizer, salad, soup then 2 desserts at the end of the meal. This is common for some, they told me they wanted to get their money's worth. This is a "food hog". When we were in port and had to pay for lunch they would split a piece of pizza and order a glass of water. Feel free to cruise with these people but I will never again if this is your idea of just being on vacation.
  9. All the suggestions are great but...before you decide look also at airfare the price, duration and times.
  10. I agree 65 cruises and have never seen this not even on Carnival. What is the onboard dress code? Formal Night gets a modern reboot. Say goodbye to Formal Night, and hello to Evening Chic. It’s your time to shine—your way. Get glamorous. Get chic. Be sophisticated. Now, on up to two nights on every cruise, Evening Chic activities have been introduced, and Evening Chic attire has replaced Formal attire. While dressier than Smart Casual, Evening Chic is intended to be less dressy than Formal attire. Women should feel comfortable wearing: A cocktail dress Skirt, pants or designer jeans with an elegant top Men should feel comfortable wearing: Pants or designer jeans with a dress shirt, button-down shirt or sweater Optional sport coat or blazer Evening Chic means that you can get glamorous and be sophisticated in your own way. If you would like to still wear a tuxedo or formal gown on Evening Chic nights, you absolutely should. All cruises that are 7 nights or longer will feature two Evening Chic nights. Any cruise 6-nights or shorter will feature one Evening Chic night. All other nights of the cruise will feature Smart Casual attire. Celebrity Xpedition will continue to feature casual attire for the entire cruise. Smart Casual attire can be enjoyed every other night of your cruise. Women should feel comfortable wearing: Skirt, pants or jeans with a casual top Men should feel comfortable wearing: Pants or jeans with a short sleeve sport shirt. Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip-flops are not allowed in the evening hours. The dress code will be enforced at all restaurants. And guests are asked to follow the Smart Casual or Evening Chic dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. The daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening.
  11. Of course not it takes too long, when most people see it done on a ship our restaurant it is for show. A young red would take at least an hour correctly do. Who wants to wait that long during dinner? Swirling your wine in the glass is an effective and easy way to accelerate the oxidation process.
  12. I would take the Sky Suite. We have taken our grandchildren on many cruises. With the Sky suite, you get premium wi-fi which he will want, a premium beverage package, and the retreat area on the ship. Also, look at flights before you make a final decision.
  13. I wish I could same the same but never had that experience. Always much larger.
  14. My experience is they are not that small 30 to 40 consistently.
  15. For me Celebrity Edge Class Ships. If not Celebrity maybe Holland. I like ships that are 2,000 to 3,500 passengers none smaller none bigger. Never a cruise less than 10 nights.
  16. We will never agree on this issue but why... would anyone want to sit in a 200 sq. foot cabin with a 42 sq. foot veranda in the first place? There is a beautiful ship out there! This is a little better picture than posted.
  17. On your so call real balcony, you open a door to walk out it has a roof two sides, and a floor. IV you do not open a window it is more like opening a wall that drops down to a railing level. Same views!
  18. Not me my upcoming Apex TA will be my 66th cruise. My next 3 cruises will also be on E-class ships. The infinite veranda is a balcony how do you not call it one? Plus you get the room extension which is a huge plus. If the weather is bad you will not use your balcony more than likely but the views from the IV will be excellent. The Sky Lounge is a waste of space no one is ever there. I guess if you like being bored go and sit for a while. The Edge class has Eden and much better dining venues.
  19. Yes, thank you I went ahead and booked for my April 15-night TA on Apex. With so many nights I want to try all the different dining venues.
  20. Not sure how anyone would not consider being on one of Celebrity ships, not "luxury". We have stayed at some of the finest hotels and resorts in the world and Celebrity tops them all. For my longer cruises, we take a Celebrity Suite or a Sky Suite but I have enjoyed the lesser cabins just as well on shorter trips.
  21. I agree same at my house. Love lamb my wife hates the smell of it cooking.
  22. Dinner on Edge is listed in my cruise planner Specialty Dining Experience. Odd the date listed is the day we board at 10:00 which cannot be correct. First, what is this and Is it worth the charge of $118.99pp? I would use my OBC to pay for this.
  23. Yes, they are hard to come by once on board...this is why you make them months before. I love Luminae but have 4 specialties booked Eden twice. I have no idea what night is Chic and if it falls on the night of one of my specialty bookings I may cancel if I do not like Eden the first night I will cancel the second.
  24. No not at all we were the only ship on that day. Lots of beautiful private yachts very wealthy.
