Current Harmony of the Seas docking in CURACAO and Aruba
lcpagejr replied to Sass4's topic in Royal Caribbean International
WE also backed in on our Odyssey Thanksgiving week cruise in Aruba. Curacao was Port side -
No more... They now have Passport and Birth Certificate lines. WE went thru BC cause we were traveling with our grandson who only had a BC.... Line was just as short as Passport line. Moved thru very quickly...no questions asked.

Live Review, Odyssey of the Seas, Dec 3-11
lcpagejr replied to Stealthdog's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Hey Stealthdog.... Beware you stay on ship time. Funny story as we left La Romana we were having a couple of leisurely drinks in Soalarium Bar. We then headed down to cabin to get ready for our 7pm MTD. In cabin I casually looked at my phone and it said 6:50pm!!! We did not have internet package and left our phones on airplane mode...but the settings automatically changed to local time which moved the clock ahead an hour!! Fortunately we had TV on which showed the time and I soon realized what happened. You can manually move the region in your settings to Miami and your phone will restore to that time. Was a crazy half hour while figuring it out lol!! -

You are correct. We did North Star in Curacao at no charge -
MSC Needs to add a better Variety of Carribean Ports
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in MSC Cruises
You'll enjoy that...Just got back from a 8 night Odyssey of Seas cruise wuth stops in Curacao and Aruba -
I only use Online agencies. Have so since 2000 (15 or so cruises). My goal is to never talk on phone and that has only happened 2x ...both times to clarify a OBC question. I have several I compare with and always get a lower price than booking thru cruiselines direct

MSC Needs to add a better Variety of Carribean Ports
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in MSC Cruises
Nassau is a waste and should be dropped….I’ve done Nassau, a 4pm -12am stop in San Juan, and St Thomas on 7 day cruises…. St Thomas has is only around 60 miles from San Juan -
MSC Needs to add a better Variety of Carribean Ports
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in MSC Cruises
Yes and No... Seems like San Juan is furthest East they go on closed loop cruises originating in FL. No St Thomas, No St Martin, No St Kitts, etc. These are islands other lines big ships visit. Seems they are in love with Nassau which is always a stop even though their Private island is within viewing distance. -
I received my declination after I had boarded lol...Came in my email that afternoon!!

I have enjoyed my past MSC cruises.... Several years ago. But to be honest...their carribean cruise option ports are bland and underwhelming. For a company trying to compete and be a player in the N American market...they need to offer a better variety of ports. No interest in sailing them again based on current ship offerings and port offering over next couple years

WE cruised same week on Odyssey and had a completely different experience...Ship was packed with lots of families...but never felt crowded...had no problem booking shows and had MTD at 7 and 7:15 for all 8 nights plus we were always seated in the same section (requested nightly)...Funny how different experiences happen on different ships

Travel with your Passport and bring your BC with you just in case. I assume your taking a close looped cruise to S carribean from a FL port. I just returned from a S Carribean cruise and used my BC....Got thru immigration in 5".... Threy have seperate lines for Passport holders and BC holders....

Just got off Odyssey Thanksgiving Cruise...Had a 10:55 am flight out of FLL. Left cabin at 8am... carried our bags...went thru immigration...grabbed a cab and was at FLL at 8:35....It took longer to go thru TSA then from leaving our cabin to the airport. Definitely doable...don't give it a second thought!!

Teen Compass for Anthem of the Seas
lcpagejr replied to MemphisDavid's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Unless they have them in the kids club....I didn't see anything on my recent Odyssey cruise. Under Entertainment they do list 13-17 year old events in the regular Cruise Compass. On Odyssey they had a white board at entrance to club with hour by hour planned activities. -
The old style shown above... blue, green or red

On our 11/19 cruise I never saw the officers, CD, etc listed on a document. I kept on looking at each days Cruise Compass hoping they would show their names. All I know was that the Captain’s name was Per and Cruise Dir was Anna -

Odyssey of Seas Thanksgiving Cruise
lcpagejr replied to lcpagejr's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Correct… the hook is only show requiring reservations mainly because it is in 270… not in main theater which is very large. But no worries… I made reservations about 3-4 hrs before show so I’m sure you can reserve after boarding -
I am shocked at the prices for cruises in 2023!
lcpagejr replied to oldmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
All valid points. Interestingly I rarely drink outside of vacations. But #4 is the real reason … piece of mind and not getting mad at my wife as she has several glasses of wine…. Lol -
Is everyone still bringing their vaccination cards?
lcpagejr replied to 8esther8's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Just off Odyssey....Nope -

lcpagejr replied to oldmom's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I was on same cruise... Thats why DBP is still a bargain... if you drink alcohol vs beer... breakeven price is less than 5 drinks a day.... I estimate I average 8 drinks a day....and before you tell me to enroll in AA... Mimosa with breakfast, drink with lunch, 2 drinks in afternoon , drink before dinner, 2 drinks with dinner, 1-2 after dinner. Never a hangover because its spread out all day. -
Odyssey of Seas Thanksgiving Cruise

I thought service was excellent from maitr’D and assistants to wait staff. The first couple days the lines were long but moved quickly… mid cruise no lines.., end of cruise lines again. But you need to remember all cruise was completely full with many families. This was 1 st time we did MTD and immediately bonded with our waiter on 1 st night. Asked to be seated in his area every night when entering dining room and they made sure we sat in his section. I did not see any staff chair hog monitoring… but we didn’t sit in pool area. We sat up top looking down at pool. But I think you could slways find a couple lounges below. Also do t forget to spend time in solarium…wonderful and air conditioned!! as for activities,.. spent a lot of time in Seaplex and Playmakers area… World Cup on so many people watching. Casino too. Wife spent a lot of time sun bathing. Lots of other activities every hour on hour throughout ship for varying interests. You won’t be bored !! Enjoy.. Odyssey is a great ship!!
