  1. . “arrival time was not being checked/enforced .... Isuspect many knew this hence arrived early and the full lot at 18” we were on same cruise.., arrived at 11:30 ( our assigned time) … not crowded at all. On ship in less than 20 min . Fyi… I did receive an email and a text that morning requesting we adhere to assigned check in time …
  2. Just off Odyssey... There was already a blank white card in the switch slot when we entered cabin
  3. 2nd night and 2nd to last night. Enjoy...She is a beautiful ship!
  4. Odyssey was decorated Friday after Thanksgiving
  5. Just returned from 8 night Thanksgiving Cruise on Odyssey of Seas… Wonderfull cruise. Excellent and friendly service, food (especially beef/lamb dishes)were plentiful and delicious , ship is absolutely beautiful. The Seaplex and Playmakers has to be the greatest innovation I have seen on any cruise ship! Despite a full cruise with many families and children it never felt crowded except on disembarkation morning when everyone was at Windjamner for breakfast. Also we received a daily Cruise Compass in our cabin ….most of events were listed on the Royal App daily planner but it was nice to have the Compass for a more casual overview of the days activities and save the “swiping” ! Royal has the crowd control and flow down to a science. The Quantum class and other smaller class ships benefit from crowd flow procedures in place to handle the Oasis class ships. Embarkation was a breeze… 15-20 min from dropping luggage off until on ship… ques never more than a couple people deep Disembarkation even faster!! Left stateroom at 8am, exited ship, cleared immigration and was at FLL by 8:35 for our 10:55 flight!! Going through TSA was longer than getting off ship and taking cab to FLL!! Haven’t cruised for a few years but now they have seperate lines for passport holders and BC holders … both moved quickly and had very few people in line if any. Facial recognition for Passport holders. I had BC … no delays what so ever. Lastly… don’t panic if you did not pre buy Deluxe Beverage Package. Lowest price I saw was $67.99 pp for last 3 months (when on sale) then$72.99pp with the buy one 50% off normal offering. With only a $5 per day savings I kept on waiting for lower price and didn’t prepurchase. On embarkation day only they offer packages at the buy one get one 50% off price you see on your cruise planner ( non sale) I will provide a more detailed review later… any questions feel free to ask!
  6. Wow..lucky you with all those cruises booked!!
  7. Yes BC's are fine if your on a closed loop cruise to carribean departing from FL. We have cruised MSC 2x in past and both my wife and I used BC and DL for ID purposes...and BC for my preteen grandson. Note: if any of your children are 16 or over they will also need a state issued photo ID
  8. Don't disagree but.....all I remember is crew blocking off areas and directing you to stairwells when drill started. I'm pretty sure they have been trained to follow specific procedures. When they do the life boat drills and water tight door closing drills you see crew throughout ship at their assigned locations
  9. Lets think about this....There are many repeat cruisers on a cruise. Do you seriously pay attention?? Prior to Covid I have found the muster drills are getting shorter and shorter...just do a life jacket demonstation and remind you the location your at is where you go if an emergency. They weren't even making you take life jacket anymore. Everyone would just show up from anywhere on ship so they really arent getting practice leaving from cabin to their actual muster location.Atleast when you had to take a life jacket you were forced to go back to your cabin to get it...other than some savy passengers who would carry with them on top decks in preparation for the muster drill (lol) Bottom line... we are still going to your assigned muster station to check in (check) ...The inroom video is on your TV when you arrive and you can see it all week (check)....Asfor the crew, They have several internal drills througghout cruise...so they are more then ready if an emergency occurs.
  10. IMO...A nice pair of shorts with a collored shirt is fine.
  11. About 3 weeks out the MTD reservations times became available on Cruise Planner for our upcoming Thanksgiving week cruise on Odyssey. I had no problem reserving 7/7:15 for each night.
  12. Better yet...just book online. I cruised 2x on MSC (in YC) and did everything through a online booking site. If you've been on 45+ cruises...you obviously know the ins/outs and don't need any hand holding!
  13. Wrong.... Not for Panama on a closed loop cruise. I ve cruised to Pnanma several times from Miami. Can't speak for Costa Rica
  14. Great review and Totally agree!! We've cruised YC on Seaside 2x and loved it. YC is a game changer IMO and although th YC pricing has been increasing..... it still shelters you from all the inconsistencies, crowds, and port day chaos
  15. So can norovisus, the flu, gastro illnesses, etc....Stop the fear mongering
  16. Yes... this would be your arrival time for check-in. Highly doubt they will even look at your Vax doc as long as you completed the health questionnaire online
  17. Slim to none. A tropical storm this late is pretty rare unless it is a traditional Nor'Easter
  18. No need to. They won't even ask. As long as you filled out Health form and state you were vaccinated....its a done issue
  19. A regular drivers license (For picture ID) along with a certified copy of Birth Certificate is perfectly acceptable for closed loop cruises originating from a US port. I have cruised twice on MSC Seaside using these forms of ID and citizenship. Children under 16 do not need a picture ID...Certified BC is all they need.
  20. I'll be on Odyssey beginning 11/19... Looking forward to watching World Cup and other sports...They have 56 TVs of various sizes in Playmakers.... Ill probably spend more time there then anyway else....atleast wife will be able to find me...😂
  21. disembark does not factor into equation ...Thats technically the 8th day on a 7 day cruise.
  22. We are also cruising over Thanksgiving on Odyssey of Seas... Have cruised numerous times over Thanksgiving...really can't add anything to what has been previously commented. However I do not recall them decorating for Xmas while on ship ...I do recall seeing boxes of trees, ornaments, decorations etc as we disembarked the Sat/Sun after Thanksgiving
  23. Good point...my bad... solo or 2 is irrelevant since your paying double. Enjoy the perks and extra space!!
  24. Totally unacceptable....without prior communication!! At a minimum a letter should have been in your cabin explaining the emergency repair need. We've been on cruises where crew have closed portions of sun deck to do repair work...but we always had an option to use the other side to get from point A to point B Now a days it seems customer service/communication is a after thought
  25. Thats how it works... If you bid $95pp to upgrade to a GS from a Balconey...You would be charged $190 additional.Thats it. I just put a $95/pp bid in to upgrade to a 1 BR GS.... Don't really care...but if they are willing to take a low ball offer....Happy to oblige
