  1. Ive cruised on the Seaside twice when it sailed out of Miami.... Ship was full both times...Never waited for a drink. Always either stepped up to a bar or a server greeted me in a lounge. I don't get where your coming from with this large time lag to be served??
  2. Got my Edocs 45 days out for me.... Keep an eye out from around 49 days in...especially if you want to grab early boarding time slots
  3. No comparison between Vista and Excel class. Havana is not worth the extra cost on Excel class....You can find privacy in other areas away from main pool deck without paying Havna upcharge. Carnival really blew it by reducing Havana experience and amenities on Excel class ships
  4. I've been on Adventure which is same class as Explorer. Interestingly I am booked on the Odyssey next month. Explorer will be 22 years old next year...Odyssey set sail in 2021 and as should be expected has more bells and whistles such as a 2 level entertainment deck. Odyssey is 30,000 tons heavier and almost 100' longer. Odyssey supposedly has more space per passenger. We enjoyed the Adventure...Weren't blown away mainly because we have sailed on newer ships .... but ship was layed out well and had a nice Promenade. I would suggest you view the numerous ship tours on You Tube for both ships. Also...the med intineraries are usually port heavy/extensive so you wouldn't necessarily be spending many days on board (ie like Carribean sea days) so evening options would hold more weight IMO. I don't think you can go wrong either way
  5. Interesting...My upcoming Odyssey cruise is not offering the deluxe package with Voom?
  6. I've noticed over the past few days any excursion says "currently unavailable" ....Appears to be for all?! Other options (beverage, dining, etc) allow you to buy/reserve. Anyone know whats up??
  7. Weve done Yacht Club twice out of Miami...Usually arrive around 11am,,, No more than a 10 min wait before a butler takes you thru security then you go to Yacht Club lounge and enjoy beverages and finger snacks....Very relaxful as you wait for the staff to check you in and then your on your way inside the ship. Enjoy,,,your in for a treat...Yacht Club is theb only way to go when cruising MSC
  8. No worries a certified birth certificate and DL will be fine
  9. AS others have said he is top notch....We also toured with another family.... He takes you to places you would never see on a ship tour excursion. My then 10 year old grandson had a blast...getting to pet a monkey and going to off beat locations to trully get a feel for country. The views were fabulous and it was a wonderful day!
  10. Diisagree with 1st sentence...remainder is accurate. Weve cruises twice on Seaside and never had to constantly be with my grandchild. As long as they behaved...never an issue. This isn't prison..and well behaved children are given liberties...Its their vacation too
  11. My experience was exacly the same when we've cruised with my grandson on 4 previous cruises!
  12. Now a days pricing is pretty even.... However many more perks (OBC, gratuitities paid, etc) working through a Internet agency
  13. You said you purchased the DBP....why didn't they make your husband purchase as well?? They always state both in room must purchase if one does.
  14. I never received a response...lol. Several years ago when I cruised in Yacht Club on Seaside...I posted I was offered a upgrade to Suite in Yacht Club.... I received responses from passengers on same cruise saying they had booked the 2 Suites being offered....which I found interesting!! Maybe MSC had offered a upgrade to them and were covering their bases... But with the inconsistent customer service of MSC I wasn't surprised
  15. Expect to see many more... MSC has committed to be a main "player" in North America... Very aggressive ship building plan and they have stated their goal is to be on par with RCL and Carnival in gaining marketshare
  16. I know schools in Northeast have Presidents week off. But during the winter sailings there will always be a fair amount children regardless of dates. We would pull our kids out of school when they were school age if we found good pricing for a winter cruise....so just prepared.... If you want a more quiet/adult type atmosphere try Celebrity or Princess. They don't have the slides and flowriders, etc which draw families
  17. Agree... While we only do Mexican Riviera, and Carribean cruises we saw no need for a PP. (Yes I know in the evnt of leaving a ship for a emergency, etc....) We have cruised numerous times...just using BC and License.... My Passport expired as I no longer do Int'l Business. When disembarking on our last cruise (3 years ago)...The Immigration officer lectured me for 5 minutes on why didn't I have a PP!! Im not a kid and in my 60's.... I politely listened.to him ranting while the line behid me didn't move lol.... I was very close to "politely" reminding him that my documentation was perfectly acceptable....but instead of forcing the issue....didn;t want to show him up and likely deal with further inspection... So we did get a Card and as my wife said....we can use if for flights until we get our Real ID once regular licenses are no longer an acceptable flight boarding ID
  18. click on this link.... English: https://www.chargerback.com/reportlostitemcbembed.asp?customerid=14677&languagecode=en-US
  19. IMO...This is a perfect example NCL burying the nickel and diming and just boldly overcharging upfront. Most everything included in the package is at full retail...which means you pay through the nose on gratuities (where applicable). This is highway robbery lol,,,, But people go right along with it...smh. The only real deal is included airfare... The current prices they charge are well below what you would pay booking on your own especially during peak holiday/Spring break periods. However you have no control in the flight times assigned...so its a crap shoot there too
  20. Covid is so watered down (mutated) their is a verry very low chance of serious illness. I read a recent article that a normal flu season will have more deaths than the current mutated covid illnesses....so yes...we should live our lives as "normal"
  21. Perhaps this may be the case in Europe or middle east...But weve cruised numerous times to Mexico and Carribean and never have had a problem with our CC being declined when visting port of calls. Calling your bank is still recommended...even most of their websites have a form you fill out and tell them your travel destination plans
