  1. So your now sailing solo in a GS??? Hard for me to believe RCL would do this...but Congrats!! Probably has has a light passenger load?
  2. Look at URL...That pretty much answers your question
  3. Odyssey has been in Europe/Middle East since Spring...Not cruising out of FLL until 11/13...not sure how recent planners can be of any use since significant changes usually occur in food, entertainment, events after TA repositioning
  4. Ship transfer not the best option if you have a early flight...Wait time in loading bus...then depending what Terminal you fly out of....more wait time for unloadingpassengers and bags...Uber or taxi
  5. Agree.. My 8 day Odyssey Thanksgiving Cruise has been fluctuating between $72.99 and $67.99....Never lower than $67.99 for past 4 months. Not alot of incentive to book early!
  6. Totally agree... There are several other island countries I feel more uncomfortable on...Jamaica leads the list
  7. You are only able to change a date if you are still outside of your final payment date.... You do not meet that criteria unfortunately
  8. Totally agree...Only way I will cruise MSC is in Yacht Club. No brainer to keep your sanity!!
  9. Was just able to reserve my MTD times for my upcoming Thanksgiving cruise under dining options under "planning my cruise"....I hadnt seen this option when viewing options in the past. Perhaps they open up as you get closer to cruise date....But I was able to reserve 7 and 7:15 dining times.... Thrilled that I don't have to deal with this planning when I board.
  10. Keep those negative reviews coming...Perhaps more YC cabins will open up....Best value in Cruising. Ship within a ship concept is brillant. Cruised 2x on Seaside YC and out of our 22 past cruises on numerous lines...best of the best both times.
  11. Same happened to me when I cruised on Seaside several years ago...I had a YC balcony cabin and about 2-3 weeks before cruise I received an email to bid for an upgrade on Deluxe Suite. I commented about the bid offer on Cruise Critic....and believe it or not a person who was booked in the Deluxe Suite commented that he was booked in a Deluxe Suite and another friend had the other Deluxe Suite. It was news to him and we had a chuckle of it. Obviously my bid was declined.
  12. Afternoon cocktail party casual....Evening party I can't provide as we didn't attend...but it may have been tied into the ships white theme for that night
  13. When we cruised on Royal Princess both NCAA semifinal basketball games (Final 4) were shown on big screen by Pool. Great experience!
  14. The sad thing is...I rarely drink at home...yet on cruises I regularly have 7-8 drinks a day. I only feel drunk when drinking champagne. As for other drinks...I can only surmise...they are very weak because I rarely feel fatigued or hung over in the morning! Then again...Im spreading drinks over all day...not partying at night and having numerous drinks in a short period of time
  15. Cruising has become much more casual...atleast in North America. You will find people in gowns and Tuxes to polos and slacks.... The cruiseline use the word "suggested" when stating the type of evening wear. We've cruised MSC twice...both times in Yacht Club, and was not unusual to see shorts worn by men in the Yacht Club dining room and no jackets on the formal nights. So dress as you wish...No one will be enforcing dress code unless your wearing swim wear
  16. Most definitely.... Odyssey of Seas Playmakers has 56 TVs.... OLder ships ,like Adventure of Seas, has it in the promenade pubs. I watched Tiger woods for 4+ hours win his last Masters at that Pub
  17. It really isn't hard... Mimosa with breakfast...drink at lunch...several drinks in afternoon, drink before dinner and 1/2 at dinner ....Thats around 7 drinks and doesnt include your night drinks. In Labidee your drink cost is included....so obviously several while at that stop. On port days ...those could be days you could lose out on....but alot depends what you do in evening. So for a couple who wants to enjoy their cruise vacation, have daily drinks....and not worry about what your end of cruise bill may be....its worth it
  18. They will have a evening deck party...usually mid cruise. They will also have aafternoon cocktail party in the Top Sail lounge hosted by the Captain and some officers. Usually a Piano player provides music
  19. Likely because your coming in from Jamaica after one sea day...Pretty good haul ...so Im sure they built in some extra time. Still wouldn't be surprised if you arrived earlier.
  20. Another benefit of Aurea is a dedicated/exclusive sundeck and bar...which usually is right behind Yacht Club area
  21. You can choose early/late seating as well... Anytime dining is like my time dining on otgher cruiselines. You still dine in Main Dining Room
  22. Very crowded...people bumping in to you...Dare I say a "Carnival" feel. Gorgeouus ship....poor organization...different answers from different crew.....I've cruised 20+ times, on numerous cruise lines, from interiors and up to Yacht Club.... Once you do it..there is no turning back (atleast on MSC)
  23. 10-10-30am assuming ship disembarks with no delays. You will checkin at White Tent. Butler will escort groups of people up to security. Then you will be taken to Yacht Club lounge where they look at your docs and check you in ....Enjoy drinks and finger snacks why you wait. Nice way to start cruise!
  24. Point Taken...Since they said they placed a "bid" for YC ...I'm assuming they are trying to get at a lower than normal price so just for them to experience the huge difference in YC vs other categories would be a huge experience. I have cruised MSC twice in YC...and after walking around the ship and dealing with the crowds and watching the lines and chaos at the customer service desks and the way they organize tender returns.... YC was the only way I would ever cruise MSC. Having a concierge, a butler who takes you around the crowds and to shows, special tender access to skip the lines, superior service for food and drink on the Pool deck/Top Sail Lounge/Restaurant, our own embarkation and disembarkation by our Butler, etc was very relaxing, worry free and made our cruise truly memorable.
  25. Are you sure your arrival time in Miami is 8am??? All the itinerraries I see for various dates shows 6am arrival??!! It seems extremely late unless they are factoring in a Coast Guard Inspection. But this would be unusual for MSC since they are not the most organized when it comes to planning and communication!
