  1. Interesting observation so far this cruise season, after working scanning guests as they board the ship………far less people seem to be sanitising their hands now then they did pre covid.
  2. That’s because they knew you were a Queenslander 😂😂😂😂
  3. Yes you are correct It is in the opposite direction when we get off the train so I never go that way but might give it a go
  4. You and a couple of hundred others 😂 I will should be up on deck scanning you in, so see you then.
  5. Not that I know of… since Aussie’s closed last year only the cardboard kings ( Maccas) are open at that time.😡
  6. Yes, Sadly Bruno’s is not open at 5:45 when I get to the OPT so we are forced to get our coffee from Macca’s (it is the only one open at that time) which is average at best and I have not yet tried the “ newcomer” van, maybe one day when I can get a break between debark and embark.
  7. Most of our ships don't fit under the bridge but this season Disney Wonder as well as Viking some and other smaller ones will be doing a few turns at White Bay so a soggy roll or two could be a real possibility…..and the coffee is not too shabby either.
  8. Yes, my wife said she really wanted to buy them …….but I could not see the point.
  9. Yes, 18 and 19 but they have not got them yet, saving them for Xmas now that they are a bit more than just a little “pressie” we bought them while we were on holidays. But no big deal…..money was made to be spent wasn’t it? 😂😂
  10. On our recent cruise around Japan I misread the tag ( should have had my glasses on )on a pearl choker type necklace, of which we bought two for our grand daughters, what I thought was 5600 yen each was really 56000 yen so A$1100 dollar purchase instead of A $110.
  11. In an attempt to combine this topic with our “ primary “ subject ie cruising, the coffee shop at White Bay Cruise Terminal sells a particularly delicious sausage roll.
  12. Nah, it’s a bit like calling every second rugby league player a “ super star” . They have to earn it . 😂😂😂😂😂😂
  13. If they are staff, it could be to protect them from “some” obnoxious guests.
  14. Interesting “hypothetical” calculation on gratuities. Average cruise ship, say 2000 paxs pay gratuities multiplied by say 350 days a year at $16 per day with the cruise line having 15 ships, they would collect $168,000,000 .If each ship had 1000 crew that would be $11200 a year per crew member. 🤔🤔🤔🤔
  15. Ahhh…the Rumour of the Seas…….a sister ship to the Speculation of the Seas 😂😂😂😂😂
  16. She actually moves to the OPT this afternoon on probably the shortest cruise ever. 300 or so “ guests” will board her at White Bay to attend a function and will “sail” to the OPT where they will “ debark” at about 10 pm. Carnival Splendor was at the OPT this morning so the Wonder will move there when it leaves at 4 pm.
  17. Smuggle…… I dont think Pirates of the Carribean was a Disney show was it? 🤔😂😂
  18. Disney do not call them balconies..they are verandahs……..sea cards/ passes are called ..Key to the World. Enjoy. Well I am off now to go to our dress rehearsal for the first turnaround tomorrow / Saturday.
  19. The Today Show…a “mickey mouse” outfit on a Disney ship. She arrives Friday morning for debark at White Bay and will go round to the OPT in the afternoon for embark on Saturday.
  20. Sounds like more Speculation to me.
  21. Pretty sure that the 2pm time is not correct. Check in normally starts around 10:30 -11:00 ish and I have not heard any different The first turns of the season for ships arriving in Aust from overseas ports can sometimes have some delays ( face to face with ABF etc ) but not to that extent. Every ship is different and they make the call but we always try for the earliest start for check in. Staggered check in times are still a “thing” but we tend to play it by ear and, unless there is some sort of unforeseen delay, allow guests to check in as they arrive. Obviously if everyone arrived at the same time we would have to enforce times but it all depends on the day.
  22. I don’t think there is any facility at White Bay for water taxi passengers to get off/ on. The pontoon that Captain Cook Cruises used, I believe, was their own and is no longer there ( I could be wrong though). I will check it out next week when down there for Disney.
  23. What happens on board, stays on board. 😱
