Nice to know Canadians are welcome. As businesses all over have suffered so much, I for one plan on spending my vacation money in Canada this year.

Agreed - maybe Canada will buy some of the ships for sale, flag them, and then sail them where it wants to ... effectively ending all

Princess ships sailing out of the USA to Alaska needing that foreign stop in Canada ?

Safe bet that no cruises will be sailing for the rest of the year.

"IF" that happens 🥃 (always half-full) ,,, I hope they announce cancellations before the end of September ... (our final payment due date)

I am trying to sign into their website and it says having difficulties or I can’t even sign in. I have closed my browser and turned off and then on my iPad. For those who have technical smarts what can I do to see my future cruises.

🥃 🍷 🍸🍻  and try again tomorrow after normal Princess weekend maintenance

  4. we're playing the 'wait and see' game for our late November cruise, with a late September final payment date ... and then the somewhat still new 30 day before sail date with FCC and refunds ... if ANY cruises go, this could be one of the first ... and in some perverse way ... I hope ... well, anyway now off to our local (Publix) with required mask in hand ...

how do you determine who gets it first?

not to go into too much detail ... but we know someone who works in the entertainment industry, who gets tested in the morning

and has the results so they can work the next day

also know someone who works in a medical care facility - they get tested on Thursday, and will get the results back on Tuesday, after working on Fri, Sat, and Sun without either them or the facility knowing the results

Money talks ... follow the money

  6. well, we are now trying to decide ( unfortunately, not cruising ) how to spend a day or two in a couple of weeks to

    celebrate a birthday ...

    1) day trip to the Atlantic Ocean - about an hour each way - hang out on the beach, then go to a nice, casual seafood restaurant on the intercoastal - then drive home

    2) get up early and drive to the Gulf - specifically Siesta Key Beach - about 2 1/2 hours, get a motel room just to shower and sleep, go out to a nice, again casual seafood restaurant, go to the beach again the next day, then drive home after that.  We've done this exact trip before Covid -19 and really enjoy it ... but just have to consider that staying in a motel ...

both of these trips would be during the middle of the week, so hopefully fewer people ...

It has been acknowledged that Australia's success in reducing the rate of infection from COVID comes from its closed borders. There has to be an reason for an individual to get permission to leave or enter the country. Anyone arriving has to undergo 14 days strict quarantine. The Aust government has indicated that the international borders will not fully re-open until there is a vaccine. They would undoubtedly require widespread use of the vaccine, not just that there is one available.

(Sorry to say) I do not think Australia will be allowing international arrivals in time for the cruise you mention. It is also unlikely that Australia will allow cruise ships to operate in its waters early next year.

When cruises do start, it is possible they will be restricted to Aust & NZ residents and that crew will have to undergo quarantine before the first cruise.

yep P & O Australia will be ready and standing by !! 🦄

  9. I only care about MY NEXT CRUISE ...really don't care about EU cruises, OZ, etc ... just MY CRUISE

so if Mexico opens ... great ... if not, maybe the Bahamas, and the US Virgin Islands will do for a weekend getaway cruise

    MY CRUISE !!! 🏁  I just need FLL/PE to open first ...

Exactly which countries do you think will allow Americans to disembark in the next 5 months?

The way CV19 is spiralling out of control in the US at the moment, I think your list will be pretty small.

When I booked Alaska 2021 it came with $150.00 pp shipboard credit. If I try to get the specialty dinning I would loose the shipboard credit. Make sure you are not loosing a perk when you booked just to get specialty dinning.

it's been reported here, including myself, that you are able to add the specialty 'dining' to an existing booking without 'losing' any perks already applied

well worth a phone call to most, but not all as it is not worth their time for such a meager amount ...🤑

  12. not really a lot of progress this last 100 days or so ... maybe add another 100 days to get to end of October ?

asked before, but how long does it take to re-crew a ship, sail from say Manilla to FTL , go thru all required inspections, training, etc ?
