I received an email from Princess telling me my Oct cruise was cancelled. That is how I found out.
exactly 'which' October cruise because as of yesterday there were still cruises out of LA leaving Sept and Oct, so just because "your cruise" was cancelled ...

We are also Elite. It appears it doesn't mean anything any more. Even on Board they treat the Club class better
so, as ELITE , cruisers have the option to book club class, just as a blue card - then you get the benefits of both !! - which are totally different and well known

all you can eat buffets again
is that really a buffet ? or just a 2 hour window to order whatever you want off a menu for a fixed price
do you actually walk thru a line, see the food you want, then order it ?

seems like on our one and so far only suite cruise ... there was a charge and then a credit for the same amount on your stateroom account ...

space ratio would be more desirable in these times.
in these times - easily done by limiting the number of passengers ... but, as profitable ? no ...

So settle into social distancing, wear your face mask, stay safe, and try not to kill someone today.
don't tell me what to do !! Everyone is ENTITLED to live their own lives ... IT"S MY CRUISE AFTER ALL !!!
( tongue firmly in cheek ... or is it ? )

while it is not cruising - there is an "event" tonight where 19K people will be in an arena for hours, no mask required, no social distancing required ... but you need to sign a waiver to be admitted, and hand sanitizer will be provided
why can't cruising provide that same opportunity ?

@Daniel A we'd be on a cruise like that if we could board in PE which involves no flights for us
sidenote: what's the status of the New York ports as the SKY is scheduled to port there from a TA on Nov 3rd, I believe to start
a repo to PE for the season

Also, don't bother sending it in until maybe a month before the cruise. Do this for every cruise sending a current statement every time.
(found that one out the hard way)
unless you want the OBC to book Princess excursions

feel like letting Princess hold some more of your money, with the chance of doubling it for a future cruise ?

Before the pandemic, a good percentage of the crew were going to be assigned to start up Enchanted Princess. But now, I guess that could definitely change.
I would love to see them again on Sky Princess also.
yeah, some of them had been on our April 2019 cruise on the CB, and they were talking then that there was a good chance
that they were going to the SKY ... and they did
-
yeah, it would be nice in November ( if it sails ) that at least some of the crew is the same as it was when we went on the USA 'inaugural v2.0' in December especially in Vines , Good Spirits, and Bellini's

gutted , then sent to ocean bottom for dive sites maybe ?

for starters ... reduced capacity of passengers ... elevator operators on floors ... tenders aka water shuttles is an easy thing to just limit passengers

Purchase tokens with your cruise card in the laundry room to use the washers and dryers.
Pro Tip - pre-purchase your tokens so you don't wind up in the laundry room with your "stuff" only to find the token machine
out or out of order ... I believe you can also get tokens at the customer service desk

we also missed Crooners ... for some reason Take 5 just didn't "do it" for us ... maybe the timing was off
hope to give it another shot at the end of November if it sails
there's a great thread out there somewhere - I think it was Colo Cruiser - that did a live from on the inaugural TA - maybe someone can find and link that

So it is not as if suddenly CCL Corp decided to sell some ships.
I'm looking for the notice that CCL Corp is "sailing" some ships ... again

wonder when the next group of cancellations will come out ... maybe after CDC lets the current ban expire ( 7/19 or so ?)
or extends the ban - hopefully not another 100 days
but even then , ports have to reopen ...
What will travel look like post COVID-19

I'm making another small payment today for a cruise at the end of November this year
If it goes, we're gonna be on it to experience what cruising is like and what it may become... if it doesn't go, well, we're gambling that Princess offers double amount paid ( prior to final ) FCC for a cruise we've got booked 12/21 on the Discovery Princess.
final payment is now due at the end of September, so hopefully if Princess does cancel, it will be before then.
small $$$ , "gaming the system" ... let it ride
