Do the sell wine BTG in Sabatini's and Crown? If so, is it covered by my PBP?
yes - up to and including wines that cost $ 12 per glass
if your ship has a Vines - that is the wine bar with better selections, and the PBP also works in there

So possibly not too much of a price increase to be included in cruise fare.
17 minutes ago, Tedferg said:don't like this 'Availability for the specialty restaurants would be based on Captain's Club level and cabin level.' Perhaps another premium layer like current Plus to include Specialty restaurants
currently Princess Plus is priced at $ 40 pp pd … so how much can you add to that … and wouldn't that create an over-capacity in the specialty restaurants ? or is my way of thinking that ' a lot ' of people get the Plus Package … if any of this even makes any sense ...

The stock market recovery means there will still be disposable investment income which is what fuels the many of us being able to cruise. As to Covid-19, we are still at 5 cases no deaths. Social distancing with masks works. It will be interesting to see what my April 2021 cruise looks like .... that's the 1st of my replacement cruises. But then I see the world as 'glass half full' not pessimisticly
Here's the link. There's 35 slides total on Presentation #6 pdf (which is where I copied 1 from) and 7 presentations
I must be reading something wrong … unless it is better NOT to be paid in full, but be paid up to the full "FARE" amount . to get double the amount paid … whereas paid in full only gets you a 25% bonus , or is that cruise fare + 100% FCC + 25% bonus FCC ?

If you already have a policy booked for a future cruise and it doesn't include CFAR, can you add PVP Platinum even after months have passed since booking the trip?
per Princess website ...
Princess Vacation Protection can be purchased while booking your next cruise vacation on princess.com, by contacting your travel agent, by calling 1-800-PRINCESS, or on Cruise Personalizer. It is available for purchase up until final payment for your trip on all Princess Cruises, Princess Cruisetours, Princess Alaska Land Tours and Princess Canadian Rockies Land Tours, and is available at two levels: Standard or Platinum. Princess Vacation Protection is not in effect until the plan cost has been paid to Princess in addition to any required cruise deposits or payments.

i keep going back and forth with myself over what I want to do as far as sending Princess any more money at this time ...
now ours is just a little cruise at the end of November with a maximum exposure of about $ 1,400 including port fees, taxes , and Platinum PVP with CFAR … with a current balance due of $ 1,000 , which we have in our 'cruise account' plus a little more for incidentals on the cruise
looking at future cruises in 2021, they are definitely a lot more that what we are currently paying on a per day basis for the same type cabin, and basically the same itinerary … at least 50% more and some double … so double the amount paid would be nice, of course ...
we wouldn't be financially devastated if the entire thing goes south , so we got that going for us
I dunno

what if the mdr's opened at say 6:00 am and stayed open continuously thru say 10:00 pm ?
kinda, sorta like a Cracker Barrell type restaurant ??

What is the break even point for the Cruise Lines. I think it is more then 25%. Will not be sailing ships unless they make money.
these 25% cruises are not designed to "make money" … rather, stop the bleeding, show cruises 'can' be safe , and regain consumer confidence

Here is the problem w both of your point -
1) the current rapid tests have a large number of false negatives and until they are improved they are not worth much
2) Numerous studies have shown that the thermal scans miss far more people who have Covid than they find and are also worthless.
DON
of course … there will NEVER be a 100% accuracy of ANY KIND OF TESTING, DUH !!!!!
I'm will to take that risk … clearly others are not
I don't plan to live in a bubble the rest of my life

Yea the beverage package should be good anywhere on the ship.
not for room service for sure ...
but does include Princess Cay
-
Example -
Cruise fare $ 1000
Port Fees, Taxes, PVP - $ 300
Total $ 1300
$ 100 FCC applied from a non-refundable deposit converted
$ 1200 cash paid by me
so cruise is paid in full … then PRINCESS cancels , say 30 days out
if I "let it all ride" and do nothing - how will my account looked after all is done as far as FCC's and 'Holding account'
-
phase 1 - no vaccine but rapid (5) minute testing - 25% capacity - thermal scans at every get on, get off - no self-serve buffet - 4-5 day cruises from USA east and west coasts

There is an 18% gratuity added to all beverage purchase menu prices. This covers the servers, bar staff and others. For a $10 drink your folio will be charged $11.80. No additional tipping required
the OP indicated in the first post that they were inquiring about the Beverage package … are you implying that the PBP doesn't work in the Sanctuary ?? never knew that if that's the case ...Thanks

Would rather put 10% down and pay the rest within 30 days od departure. If the cruise is cancelled then full refund of deposit. The travel industry is stealing money from people with the permission of all regulatory and banking agencies. Just look at how much money is currently being held for an unlimited time by them. ust be tens of millions of dollars. And no one does anything about it.
what kind of gun was put to your head ? seriously, it's your CHOICE … which is a beautiful thing

For us a seven day cruise isn't worth it unless it's an "add on" either before or after a longer cruise. 😉
I've seen you post this before … is it just not worth it to you because of the pre and post cruise travel , or something else ?

☝️ This. I worry that I simply may not enjoy the experience anymore once I find out what the changes are going to be.
and that's exactly why there needs to be numerous 'short' cruises on the east and west coasts of the USA to see if people are all like - OK let's go or OK, I'm done ...

Why is it OK to share the minibar benefit but not the laundry benefit?
well, since you asked … the minibar is a defined / set by number benefit - whereas 'free laundry' is not limited to a certain amount
kinda, sorta, maybe like a coffee plan - that allow the sharing of the set number of specialty coffees, but the unlimited free brew to on the holder

am trying another Princess Cruise on the Sky Princess over this coming Christmas/New Year and hope we don't have the same problems as I had travelled with my teenage daughter and meal times (and off the ship) were the only times we spent together
so, did you choose early or late Traditional set dining time for your upcoming cruise ?
-
why can't / won't Princess sail out of Galveston like Carnival announced they are doing with the limited start-up also including Port Canaveral and Miami ?
-
no free laundry either … but feel free to share the mini-bar, I guess ??
-
no and no , but feel free to join them 🦄

MDR dining once operations resume

we've gone back and forth about going to the mdr - we do like the sit down service, and generally are not in any hurry, but certainly don't want a 2 hour dinner, so we ALWAYS get a two-top ...
not to hijack, but on our next 'scheduled' cruise, we have a balcony on the SKY … big enough to have a UBD ( ultimate balcony dinner ) ?? we've never done it before, so ...
