#3 - Bayou Cafe on Coral Princess

agreed, but our was on Island - pre-changes

and followed that up with the 'On the Bayou' show - prolly the only show on Princess I would spend extra time for to

    see again

hope to do the ultimate balcony dinner on our next scheduled cruise ...

I got a great deal last October & December for a cruise in March of 2021.  I booked under three for free in October and in December, was able to add on Wifi and Premium Beverage Package for $25/day.  Win-win.  😁  I think this bare bones fare versus plus fare is/was just a trend in the industry.  I've seen it on other websites for other lines.

I think they will bring back three for free sometime in the future but I don't know when.  It worked well for Princess in the past so why fix something that isn't broken?

yep, that worked well with the BEST.SALE, EVER. add-on's

Princess Plus works well for us , but the wifi is just a throw-in as we don't use it that much

Cruise lines should look at how Ticketmaster is handling the cancellation of numerous events.

Completely different situation … Ticketmaster still had monies coming in, albeit not as much

Cruise line bookings and payments went kerplop … with increased expenses draining resourses

. I would be interested to hear what others think about the situation!

unfortunately, this is nothing more that a cash-flow situation and preservation …  are there going to be feelings hurt and pissed off customers - of course … will some people "never cruise again" - of course, until they do …  and then there is the group that states , OK , it happens … when's my next cruise ??

I believe if Princess had just let the faucet flow on refunds, they would already be in some kind of bankruptcy / reorganization ...

and they still may be at some point in time depending on the number of lawsuits filed against them for Covid-19 - but how long will those take to settle … years, of course

now it is well known that I am not in the same situation as a lot of you with thousands of $$$ in limbo with no answers and Princess either not knowing themselves or unwilling to provide you with concrete answers … as this is a major fluid situation

    which can change daily

Even before all this, it was kind of a running joke on Princess that if you called their customer service and didn't get the answer you were hoping / looking for, to just keep calling until you did … these Princess reps don't have answers … that's way up the line

EDIT: and for all those that cancelled their cruise prior to Princess cancelling them … well, check the terms under which you booked … harsh, but in reality ...

No unified compliance by the general population with CDC guidelines really means no cruising period for a long time.

Disney theme parks opening in about 30 days … that speaks volumes, as well as the political rallys that will be taking place

Cruises, in some manner, will happen sooner, rather than later, in my opinion … and by sooner, I mean no earlier than November 2020 … with shorter (4-7 days) and at a reduced capacity 25-50% max - which will be easy to do at first ...

some line / some bodys … gotsta be firstest … and they damn sure better get it right … maybe the younger demographic  Disney out of Port Canaveral ...

Carnival Corp and other cruise lines have sent most of their crew home. It will take months to get them back to the ships, retrained etc. It will be a LONG time before cruising starts again in any meaningful way.

it may be a LONG time … but the cause won't be the inability to get trained crew back on the ships … they will be lined up...

    define LONG ...

As it stands now, there SHOULD be a fair bit experience from the highly commuted early adopters to let us know what the on board experience is like before we have to commit to making final payment.

good luck with that … at 60 days, your final payment is around Sept 28 … which there will be NO Princess cruises by then in my opinion … as I think the first Princess cruises "may" be the November Caribbean cruises ...

Two passengers from our voyage were told last week by Princess "we are processing your voyage at the end of this week or the beginning of next." I personally was told this week by Customer Relations "we are processing your voyage now."

"processing" = getting the amounts ready to be disbursed to the correct accounts = put in the pipeline for payment

now, when the magic person punches the button to release the funds … well 🥃

In fact on 1 trip when we were in Glacier Bay, my 10 year old noted that the people in the private spa area probably could not see much of Glacier Bay and commented that they were really being stupid.  That is one smart kid.

not knowing anything about those people and maybe their physical limitations why they may be inside … apple … tree

Sky Princess is currently off the coast of Cyprus

yes, I saw that with the bridge cam … I'm wondering if it still has crew waiting to get off, or just hanging out waiting for it's next assignment - which according to Princess is a NY to FLL/PE the first week of November

Small update, the Island and HAL Westerdam met up this morning (their time)and the HAL ship gave the Island 26 more Filipino crew members to take to Manila. That gives the Island just over 700 Filipino crew members of which just over 400 came from the Regal. They are chugging along at 14 knots

thanks for the continued updates ...

what's the status of the SKY Princess , as that is our next scheduled cruise … little 5 day , late November ?

Discovery is the only ship sailing the Caribbean in Dec 2021.

bummer, guess that might put our little 4 day "inaugural" USA cruise in doubt ?

I stopped reading the article after seeing the words "as the corona virus winds down". What planet are they on?

the only true metric of increase or decrease is  … positives per test percentage … if this is not included , well it's just bogus

  14. Thursday afternoon ramblings - this post will not include any useless pictures of things not connected

    with Princess cruises …

Actually , I just wanted to post to see how everyone is getting along and what you may have started doing again that

you haven't done in the last 30-60-90 days ...

back to work at your old location ?

    haircuts? nail salons? gyms?

eating out at a restaurant ?

still hoarding tp , hand sanitizer, Lysol , in anticipation of , well...

I went to the Post Office, Bank, and Publix today, wore my mask, used hand sanitizer … worked on clients in my home office ..

wife will cut my hair tomorrow morning … throw some roadkill on the grill tomorrow night ...

hardly have the tv on , except for some occasional sports , law and order reruns … can't stand watching the news about covid-19

and the riots … looting ...

    sorry

    stay safe

    peace out

I just got off the phone with a Princess rep and she says that Cruise With Confidence final payment doesn't apply to my March 26, 2021 sailing because the cruise is 28 days so I still have a 120 day final payment due.  It certainly doesn't say anything of the sort, as a matter of fact when you now look at the standard cancellation policy it states right at the top of the page that the standard policy applies to cruises departing May 1, 2021or later.  For cruises departing prior to April 30, 2021, the 60 day cruise with confidence policy applies.  It was like talking to a brick wall, she kept referring me to the standard policy of 120 days even though that no longer applies.  Did anybody else make any headway with somebody there?

my cruise personalizer is still showing the old policy, in our case 75 days ( short cruise ) … if I go thru a dummy booking all the way is shows 60 days final deposit date
