    how was this offer presented different from a valid casino offer? - different contact? different wording? different department? - In other words, did you think 100% that this was just another casino offer?

    I initially reacted to the email as a threat. Monday is the deadline to cancel outright and get my $ back.

    I called. I cancelled. 
    I was told the cancellation fee of $540 will be waived.

    I received a cancellation notice charging me $540, after my call.

    The booking is gone from my Personalizer.

    I am not surprised by Princesses handling of the mess after seeing how the Sun passengers were treated.

    I have one fully paid cruise with them and a deposit on another.  They are no longer the type of business I choose to spend my money on, after this next cruise.

    On my original thread, others mentioned they have had this offer and it was honoured and they took advantage of it.  So, the “too good to be true” really was true.  I suspect some who book will have their offer intact. Happy for you.

    We're currently 8 points shy on RCI.  Have a 7 day booked for March on the Odyssey out of Bayonne.  Frustrating that our next cruise would not let us achieve the Diamond status perks.

In 2010 when we first sailed on the Ruby Princess we were very pleased with the Princess product.  A few more cruises and we were hooked on Princess with a sprinkle of the others in there!  We just love their itineraries, the price point, the onboard culture, the crew, the staff, etc.  Is it perfect...no way, but we feel at this time it's perfect for us!
    BTW, one of my best friends sails almost exclusively on Celebrity but she's a gambler and likes the smoke free casinos.  Not saying there was anything wrong with Celebrity and we may try it again but right now we're content with our choice.

    I, and I think most, understand how to do the math to justify the package.  After all, it is not rocket science.

     

    Some days it would pay off for us but most days it would not.  It simply doesn't pen out for the two of us over the length of a cruise.    If I want something, I buy it without a seconds thought.  But, I'm not going to buy something I don't care about to justify having a package.  If I ever got to the point a package is a better deal, I'll buy the package.  

     

     

    I have never bought wifi on a cruise - even with the old Best. Sale.Ever.  you could get Best2DG  so the 'value' of the wifi for us is $-0- in any package evaluation.

    So, currently in the $60 PLUS - $16grats = $44 for ALL other - ALL

     

    that's about 3 Princess pours of a decent Cab - Port day or not

    and if anyone knows, if you have Premier, go ahead and pay by credit card, is the OBC that you get onboard for that ($180 for 2 x 2 dinners) "REFUNDABLE"?  I don't need non-refundable obc and I am well aware or the current way ... - and  ... cash out
