Princess took $1159 in penalties when we cancelled our 4/18 & 4/25  cruises,on Feb 28th . Then they came out with they will issue future cruise credits . Now they are  cancelling their cruises for the next 30 days . Thus ,we too should get our money back   .

as of today, do you have any cruises booked in the next 60 days with Princess ?

  2. I know this is about Princess and cruising, but many more areas are also shutting down operations for a time period,

specifically sporting events - NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA basketball - and that hits way to close to home for us.

mods feel free to nuke, didn't mean as a thread hijack ...

Does anyone know if we used a travel agent do they have to do the paperwork or can we just fill out the form ourselves.  I know the agents will be very busy and I don't mind doing it but just not sure if it has to go through the travel agent.

will TA's have to refund their commissions ?  Will they get an additional commission when the FCC is used to book another cruise ?

The only reason I cancelled Friday was because it was the last day to get 25% refund. I hated bothering my TA for that given that I knew how crazy her day would be.

the above quote was actually Coral - but was quoted by azbirdmom - I think that's how some posters think they have been misquoted )

Anyway - thought better and just deleted the rest of my post

3/10/2020-Real-time updates: 25 corona virus deaths among more than 267 cases in Washington.

Gov. Jay Inslee said Tuesday that up to 64,000 people could be infected within two months if actions aren't taken now to stop its spread. Let's see what this does to Princess Alaska cruises this summer?

    Just Princess ?

  6. so did you cancel ??

these are very fluid times and the Princess Reps are stressed , as are you ... maybe a cooling off period, if that is even possible might do both sides good

dunno, but I do understand about booking a future cruise at currently inflated prices with a credit from a cruise that may have been booked under a very good sale

the fears are not for ourselves, but of getting quarantined, cancelled ports/tours/flights, etc.

    agreed - the fear of catching COVID-19 < 5%

cancelled ports, etc - totally dependent on which ports, tours, etc, and if we had been there before

potential of 14+ day quarantine - that's the kicker - at least 80% of the reason to cancel

He just updated us but had no news yet from the coast guard.  It was more informative regarding dinner and entertainment. 🙁

are the lounges / bars still open ?  casino ?  PBP / other beverage packages still being honored ?

I'm guessing the dress code in the mdr is really non-existent now, huh ?

"Leaving on a Jet Plane" is a song written by John Denver[1] in 1966 and most famously recorded by Peter, Paul and Mary. The original title of the song was "Babe, I Hate to Go", as featured on his 1966 studio album John Denver Sings, but Denver's then producer Milt Okun convinced him to change the title. Peter, Paul and Mary recorded the song for their 1967 studio album, Album 1700, and Warner Bros.- Seven Arts released it as a single in 1969.[2]
