  1. We don't visit the casino but maybe we will run into you onboard. We are driving now to the port.
  2. IMO it is for the AI as well as free fitness classes. We paid a VERY minimal premium and actually less than a verandah.
  3. Anyone know what brand is provided in Aqua Class? I've searched and googled.
  4. I drink wine and the options are not great with Classic and better with Premium. Also, DH drinks premium bourbons and none are included in Classic package. We chose to upgrade.
  5. Apparently. I've been on all but VV and the only two I agree with are Oceania and Seabourn.
  6. We are as well. Looks like a full sailing. I have not been on X since 2005. Taking the extended family on this one. Hoping there are places to escape the masses on board. Martini Bar used to be a favorite and I am sure we will check it out.
  7. Ok, hopefully the sushi bar is open. I was aware that Blu does not open for lunch. Spa Cafe would have been fine. I don't do buffet.
  8. Yikes! Looks like I will be in Solarium on this cruise.
  9. Can anyone provide details on the kids club on Equinox? We are getting to cruise in ten days and the app is not very detailed in terms of what is offered and when. I called and could not get any details. We are traveling with extended family and have a 7 YO and a 10 YO. I see that there are sometimes evening events (7-10) which will allow them to have an adult dinner or two. I'd like to book a specialty restaurant but it's difficult without an agenda for the kids. If anyone has a sample program to share, I would be appreciative!
  10. It's been years, since the last 2 were so disappointing. We are taking the extended family on Celebrity in 6 weeks as the lines we enjoy are not a fit for kids. I have VERY modest expectations.
  11. Oceania is a premium line. I would choose an inside on O over anything on Celebrity, all day, every day. Your price comparison is apples to oranges. O ships are 1000 persons max. You are not inundated with photographers, sales of this and that. Specialty dining is included. There is no nickel and diming. If you are looking for lower price, then you found it, but the two do not compare.
  12. We are on that sailing in Aqua Class. Mostly because of Blu and being able to avoid the MDR. We generally do not cruise on large, mass market ships but are taking extended family on a cruise and hopeful it will be a good experience for them.
  13. We are driving from London to Dover on the 23rd and not taking chances to delay our arrival to meet the pre-assigned boarding time. We will arrive at noon and wait until they let us board.
  14. I don't know how it is possible to monitor something like that in advance. The UK newspapers said it was holiday related. I suspect Easter will have similar. Hopefully we will not.
  15. Forced meaning that leaving puts us in Dover by 9-9:30am and would necessitate stopping along the way. We are not interested in doing that just to accommodate the road closures. I also learned that the day before is a separate mini-marathon, also affecting the hotel we had booked. Being forced to alter our schedule to accommodate the race did not work for us. Plan B does.
  16. Lunch is only bento boxes from what I read. No nigiri or sashimi, which is what I most enjoy.
  17. I looked at that as an option but it just was too forced. I also learned that there is a mini-marathon the day prior that also will have roads closed. Not worth it. I'm happy with my Downton Abbey decision 😄
  18. I decided to avoid London altogether this trip and booked a lovely manor home in the country instead. Thanks!
  19. We are spending a few days in London prior to boarding Ovation later this month. I just learned from our driver that streets in a five block radius of our hotel will be closed from 7:30am on. Our option is to leave by 7am (which puts us in Dover at 9am) or change hotels to be out of the path of the marathon. Hotels of course are far more expensive now than when I booked 6 months ago. We have no problem wandering about Dover for a few hours before boarding. Seabourn is advising we cannot drop luggage this early. What has been your experience with the earliest we can drop bags?
  20. Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review! We are on Ovation in three weeks and I will share our thoughts upon return.
  21. Yes, I would not accept for that cost either. Willing to roll the dice!
  22. That's me most nights, if I last until 5am. That would qualify as sleeping in!
