  1. That’s a lot of price difference. Which ship? Time of year? Maybe consider a Reserved Mini-suite instead? How often do you (want to) cruise? Can you afford it comfortably or would you rather use the difference to purchase excursions? Maybe put in a bid instead? Although, suites to Hawaii are often sold out. For me, I often do a suite since there are so many sea days to enjoy the suite breakfast.
  2. Received a “definitive” answer from an assistant Food and Beverage officer. The $5 charge for picking up the phone, from a suite/without a package, will incur a charge…..for delivery! I am on the CB. Did not test this out, Supposed to be fleet wide.
  3. On the way up July cruise, we had 3. And I am glad that the variety show is returning. It will be crowded. Thank goodness this voyage is not full, Also, I received an invitation the the Captain Circle Party for Elite (and Platinum), but my sister did not get one for Ruby. Is this also gone? I will admit that I have received personal phone calls for suite thermal spa and Grapevine wine tasting. HaHa…the green sticker bled onto my watch band and I did not return to use the services. I did get a lovely gift bag when I toured the thermal spa.
  4. Before $5. I asked for my tiramisu to go. I received 3 delivered by Room Service. Takeout container from Crown Grill on Grand, foil on the Crown. After $5. Most recently: Birthday cake was wrapped in foil from Sabatini’s Coffee from suite breakfast taken back to room in cardboard cup (they prefer not to allow glassware out of restaurant) pralines served in metal dish taken back to room.
  5. Sabatini’s suite breakfast is different than at dinners when one is assigned to your table. Everyone pitches in and it is excellent service. I tip each person and the Assistant Manager. I asked the Assistant Manager how come the CB has breakfast on the last day and this is what he told me. Since the restart (not on the Grand for me earlier), he said the Room Service was overwhelmed by Suites ordering breakfast. So Princess decided it was easier to keep breakfast at Sabatini’s. Not sure this is across the fleet. Bob, will Sabatini’s be open on disembarkation morning. @Woobstr112G, thank you so very much for doing a live report. I’ve appreciated your bigger print and enjoyed your writing style.
  6. I have a friend who just completed the Island World Cruise. Bought a balcony because she didn’t think she could do an inside for that many days. Solo with supplement….$60,000. I think you have a “bargain” here. aka Sheldon Cooper.
  7. It is still a paid event, but complimentary for Elite. I stopped attending too. I will go today since I have an Elite friend on this cruise. Leave after the whites are poured.
  8. That’s a first for me to hear. Thanks, I’m not on this voyage. Were the passengers on a Princess excursion? Was this your last port? Hilo and Nawiliwili are day time ports as set be the Harbor Division. Very small ports. Love to watch the intriguing S shape maneuver to position the ship for a fast get away in Kauai.
  9. today….3 versions of praline. buffet - cake like dessert MDR - torte like dessert MDR - similar to what I considered a praline/almond and corn syrup crisp Sorry to disappoint you but the wine tasting is an elite perk. You would need to see Future Cruise people if you are not automatically switched to Elite. On my last cruise, I went to the office to pick up a pin for my cabin mate. Not even a welcome packet at the end of her cruise.
  10. I’ve been “busy” and haven’t followed along as I would normally. I do hope your visit to the islands were both relaxing and enjoyable. “We” could really use your visiting dollars!
  11. A Reyn’s Schooner’s Hawaiian shirt is a “nice” shirt. There are several other brands, but I can’t spell some of them (and no way to Google them easily at the time of this posting).
  12. I understood there is a price break or free for cruisers. Check their site.
  13. The Princess musicians are a talent bunch or instrumentalist. By throwing it together in a couple of hours means: Sound checks Lighting checks Strike Bravo set/put up her set design Musical scores run through, pauses, finite instructions. Guest stars also go through said limited amount of time. Raquel and musicians did a wonderful job. They’ve got to be excellent sift readers!
  14. I hope you don’t mind my addition. We are rocking, rolling, and creaking. This is just the beginning. IMG_4687.mov
  15. The CB holds about 3500 passengers. There are 2463 onboard this voyage. 400 Blue 474 Gold 299 Ruby 741 Platinum 549 Elite Suite check box Express laundry…turn in by 9 AM returned after dinner same day. Last night was the nosiest I’ve experience in quite a while. Stabilizers were working very hard below me. Suite cocktail hour/Meet and Greet officers was very nice. A new perk since there is no concierge lounge on Grand/GEM class ships. Malory is our concierge. JP from corporate (not JP, the president) is back onboard again. There are 3 JPs at Princess. No pigeons that I can find as stowaways. @KenTheCruiser Been trying to locate you. Please stop by corner window round table at the opposite of lady servers in MDR. Or window round table in Sabatini’s at breakfast. Thanks.
  16. Pier 10/11 - Aloha Towers is a more historic terminal with beautiful murals. It’s too bad that the state sold the land to a college. Pier 2 was actually built by NCL for her supposedly 3 cruise ships around the island. So she has first dibs. Funny how she was parked/moored at Pier 10 for the entire pandemic shut down.
  17. But….we could have been the last to be serviced. I’m sure they paid rent for all of July.
  18. I have hacked into HAL Vista Suites. Here’s my take. PCL reserve mini-“suites” Reserved MDR, shower tub combo. HAL Vista Suite Has something similar to Royal Class concierge lounge. No complimentary mini-bar. Nicer ”suite” like bathrooms. Not sure about MDR perks. Similar size to Window Suites but includes balcony in square footage. PCL Grand/GEM Class Window suites Similar “suite” bathroom. Includes complementary mini-bar, Reserve MDR, and just recently, dedicated “concierge” behind the scenes. No Balcony, but bigger interior space.
