  1. As you get closer to your cruise, you will find port/city information on your app. You will need to click the download to view. Image is VERY small and not enough quality to enlarge to print. Princess...USED TO have printed port information in your stateroom or as you left the ship. Did away will all any printed copies. Too bad. As for "free shuttles" there were NONE for the Japan cruise or recent New England cruise provided by Princess. Can't speak for Mediterranean.
  2. When you cancelled your transfer, it was attached to your hotel reservations. I can see why the agent felt you meant to cancel it all. You can't cancel just the transfer. As mentioned above, a Princess Hotel includes: Airport to Hotel transfer with agents available at the baggage claim area Hotel stay/night Shuttle from hotel to port/cruise terminal It generally is a per person fee/double occupancy. If your cost was $329 for the two of you, then that was quite a bargain. Generally, it is more like $300 per person. And San Francisco is a high rent place.

    Refund

I am surprised that you were able to ask for a refund after final payment. Is this the correct scenario? If you re-fared before final payment, there would be no refund due. You would just pay less on final payment.
  4. @nasa1974 That is intriguing. Thanks for sharing. I know that the Apple charging block will convert 220V for power. Maybe someone will be able to answer (and there are many out there) if you plug the charging cord in to the USB port and the other end to your device, will it blow up your device (I know...exaggeration).
  5. Lately, they have been in Vines (if the ship has one/CB). But too noisy and crowded to carry on any decent conversations. At 5 pm
  6. I received amenities in my suite recently. Not sure if that is elite or suite related. No bags. aka Sheldon Cooper: You just got to tip more (lol)
  7. Solution....return the blue bags that were given out years ago. (aka sheldon cooper)
  8. The Arizona Memorial is best as a do it on your own excursion. Tour companies are not given preferential treatment for tickets any longer. They only provide transportation. 1. Get your tickets when booking window opens (about 2 months (8 weeks) in advance). https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/facility/233338 2. When you make your reservation, you will need to pick up your tickets and hour before. Plan accordingly. Use the hour before the theater movie to wander through the two small exhibits. 3. UBER, Lyft, taxi, bus over to the Arizona Memorial. You will be extremely restricted to what you can take in to the National Park. There are a few lockers. This is why renting a car is better...but before of "opportunists" who prey on rental cars in the parking lot. After the movie, you will be directed out a door that will lead to a launch. This is the ONLY way to get to the Memorial itself. They have it down to a science. 20 minute movie. 15 minute boat ride. 15 minutes at the Memorial. Next boat of passengers get off, you get on 15 minute return back to National Park. Total....2 hours. While you are there, visit the Bowfin submarine and the Battleship Missouri. Sister ship to the Iowa docked in San Pedro. https://www.pearlharborhistoricsites.org/pearl-harbor/arizona-memorial You will still have the afternoon to go to the beach (I recommend Ala Moana/Magic Island over Waikiki). Da Bus: https://www.thebus.org https://www.holocard.net/for-visitors/ They have changed the way they do bus rides now. I had to go to a City Hall Annex to prove my age. Then given a (free) tap card. When I took my grandson on the "new" rail, he had to buy a plastic rail card for $3 then load his $2 fare since there was no way to prove his age at the station. Do your research to see if they still accept Medicare card for senior discounted fare.
  9. Here's my story: Both knees replaced at the same time. I was told before hand...get in shape and lose some weight (neither of which I did). January had them replaced. They wanted me standing a couple of hours after surgery. I told them where to go...they didn't care. I was standing for a few minutes. 2 nights in the hospital. 5 nights at a rehab hospital. And 5 weeks at a nursing home. I really wanted to go home. Lost the weight at the last place, it's not a cruise ship! Physical therapy twice or three times a day. They would not let me out of there until I could climb stairs, do (pretend) laundry, and give myself a shower. Hind sight, I am really glad I had so many looking after me at the nursing home. I was stuck in Hawaii (ahhh, poor baby) due to the Pandemic. All of my flights to my local airport were canceled (I was NOT going to fly into LAX). More outpatient PT. Got our of the wheelchair, off the walker, then off the cane, and could drive within 2 months. Surprisingly, the knees never really hurt. It was all of the strengthening exercises (muscle recovery) that ached. Use the gym. Ask your doctor/PT to prescribe an exercise routine you can do on the ship. Enjoy being pampered on the ship. I'm one of those that lacks the discipline to do the work by myself. Only you can judge how much you can push yourself. Will it be a cruise to recover or are you planning on doing many excursions. I would take a cane with you when the "boat" starts to rock and roll. One knee? A trip to the park. Listen to your body, but don't baby the knee. Cruising would be a great way to recover. Ask for a shower stool and hand held shower head.
  10. The New Royal Class builds (Regal) has pretty much eliminated "ballroom dance floors". Currently, the dancing is allocated to the Piazza when the party band plays. It is NOT the best dance floor. Mosaic on concrete, and not smooth. Even the Grand/GEM class ships have moved away from ballroom dancing venues. They used to have them in the Explorer's Lounge and/or the Wheelhouse. Pretty decent wooden dance floors. They would even have canned music during the first hour of dinner time in Club Fusion. Super great dance floor. Horrible lighting and not the classic Ballroom music. I did manage once to find the ED and asked him for waltz's, foxtrots, and swing music. He was so kind to oblige. Back to the Regal, you will find some die hards (maybe 5 couples) who will dance for the public. If you are a traditional ballroom dancer, you will not find this conducive to your taste.
  11. I had suite breakfast in Sabatinis (CB). My sister was provided with a choice of the following: Almond Milk Lactose Free Soy Oatmilk was not available. I am sure, if they have it for suite breakfast, it must be also available to other guests. If there is something you prefer, I would bring your own.
  12. Correct, the CB has no entrance without navigating stairs for Deck 6 in the Princess Theater. BUT...there are a few other Grand/GEM class ships that allow entrance directly from Deck 6. It would have been nice to have a standard...but this is Princess (without any consistency). I believe (but do not rely on my memory), the Ruby may have direct access to Deck 6 seats. The Grand, Emerald, Caribbean do not. Not sure about the Crown. I'm sure there is someone out there who can verify/deny my recollections.
  13. I was on the CB in October. I was given a bag for each purchase I made. They did ask me if I wanted one.
  14. I have used the app to pick up dishes. They were soon removed. I am guessing those who place dishes out…and they remain there for long periods of time…do not alert Room Service and/or steward is off duty.
  15. Aren’t you glad there’s the Medallion…..so they could easily find you? I have filled out those forms before with positive results. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  16. It might help posting your itinerary and the ship you have chosen. There are so many variables to consider.
  17. Some of Princess' older ships allow you to "drive" in to the bottom (deck 6) of the theater and park on the side of the aisle, in case you wanted to be closer to the stage. Unable to recall exactly which ship, but think Ruby is one of them. Never heard of a "private driver" to take you around the MDR (Main Dining Room). You drive yourself up to the table, transfer to a seat, and magically, your scooter is parked and returned to you at the end of the meal. Those drivers "love" being able to move your scooter for you. Special embarkation is not like the airlines. You won't be the first to get onboard. They space out mobility passengers amongst groups, a few at a time. Same with disembarkation, you may be escorted off the ship, a few at a time. Are you traveling with someone that is able to open doors for you? I know that mid-ship, there are automatic doors to the Promenade. Sometimes they are roped off due to excessive wind/weather. Princess sells a few excursions that are handicap friendly. These sell out quickly too. I am like you....I often want answers to questions I don't know how to ask. I am sure that someone will have an answer for you if this thread stays active.
  18. It is best to book far in advance for an accessibility cabin. They go quickly. If a wheelchair/scooter is needed, you must provide your own. There is some assistance to get on and off a ship with a wheelchair service provided by Princess, but very limited. There are always people on the ramp with a handicap vest on to assist passengers. Best to book near an elevator. Sometimes it is difficult to make it down the passageways with steward carts and other obstacles in the way. There are some tables in the MDR that do not require going up a short step. Waiter/assistants will move the walker/wheelchair/scooter out of the way. Without invading your privacy, it is difficult to give you a definitive answer to your question.
  19. I'll never know...I only can speak for Grand/GEM class ships. Good to know that both remotes work independently on a Royal Class ship.
  20. The Caribbean Princess does not have USB outlets/plugs/sockets/connections in any of their cabin categories like some of her sister ships. Most of the cabins will have a set of two 110v power outlets: One at the desk, the other might be found behind the television (some have one/some have 2). There will be multiple 220V: at the desk and for each lamp in the room. Bring an adapter that has multiple outlets. You will be able to plug the 220v lamp into one and an American plug into the other. Most medical devices are dual voltage. Most Anker products are dual voltage. All Apple products are dual voltage. I would not advise adding an extension cord to the adapter. There are many multiple outlet devices on the market. As long as they are NOT surge protectors, you should be fine. And/or bring an old fashion extension cord. On my last cruise...it was rather challenging. My sister took over the desk with her devices: Rechargeable hearing aids iPhone computer wireless bluetooth headphones Apple watch I used the outlet behind the television with my multi-outlet Anker unit: iphone Apple watch tablet I used the 220v outlet behind the bed for my CPAP machine. And you wonder why can't travel light !!
  21. I will never get the chance to do 360 since I don't plan (99% no) to be on a Royal Class ship. Saying that.... I thought 360 was by invitation to suite passengers. Did hear/read that 360 was being offered to a few mini-suite passengers for $140 ???? I have only witnessed the parade of staff and plates during a Chef's Table. Just happened to be in the Crown Grill when the Chef's Table was being offered. Also was told that there are multiple seatings for this glorious event during the voyage. Everything is included in both dinners (liquor paired with dishes). You would need to contact the DINE line in order to place your name in a lottery for the Chef's Table. I don't think you can invite yourself to 360.
  22. Glad you have Platinum PVP (100% returned). You will need to submit a claim directly to AON. If you booked with a travel agent, TA will need to cancel your cruise. Penalty phase will not apply. There are two avenues: 1. Cancel for Any Reason = FCC 2. Cancel for Covered Medical Reason = Reimbursement The following experience will be for Cancel for Medical. * You will receive some funds back from Princess via check or credit card. I do not recall if it was taxes/port fees and/or penalty amount. * You will not receive the amount you paid for insurance (this is why you buy insurance). * You will be assigned a case number. * You will need to submit a report from your doctor. * You will be assigned an adjuster and will be able to submit papers via the web and/or as attachments with your adjuster. https://aontravelclaim.com/#/home Document everything and keep good records/copies. AON will be in communications with Princess to verify any needed information. Be patient, this may take several months. AON will cut you a check. They have just started to do direct deposits too. The one time Princess cancelled a cruise (due to pandemic), I was automatically issued FCC. Sorry for your medical issues. You can file up to embarkation, but I wouldn't cut it that close. I hope this will not be the end of your cruising days, but can understand why you don't want to risk getting FCCs. Malama Pono (Take Care)
  23. He was on the Emerald. When Princess does it right, they have terrific enrichment lecturers. He has a full gamut of information. I listened to him discuss the Beach Boys.
  24. Correction: When I stated that it was no much more than an extended balcony, I was referring to the balcony stateroom (not the outdoor balcony). (Grand/GEM Class) Balcony cabins and mini-suites are more like each other than they are similar to FULL suites. * A mini-suite will have a bathtub instead of a shower stall. * It will have 2 televisions (too close together to make a difference plus/a long time ago/when one remote changed one television, it also changed the other. Hope they fixed that) * It will have a larger living space with a sofa and a coffee table. They have the same closet space. The same amenities. Same floor to ceiling glass doors. Same elite benefits (mini-bar set up).
