  1. Thanks...that's what I meant to type (updated). It was hard for me to go back and forth. I should have taken a screen shot and used it to directly quote. Thank you for your catch.
  2. "Dine My Way" will now become "Reservations". Then they need to change "Reserve Club Class/Reserve CC Dining". I have witnesses SOOOOOOO many passengers who line up the the "Reserve Dining Room" and are disappointed to be turned away as it is NOT MDR for those with reservations, but MDR for Club Class (now Reserve CC). There is a small sign outside that says "Reserve Dining". The host/hostess and sometimes the Assistant Manager calmly escort diners to the "other" door. "AND SOME OF THE TERMS HAVE BEEN UPGRADED". Princess really needs to hire an English teacher.
  3. I will look into other voyage. I know the Island will do one (not interested).
  4. @jagoffee Starting in Iceland would be ideal. Guessing this was not a Princess itinerary.
  5. I know what it is like to live in an island where everything is shipped in. One of my biggest concerns is missing the few port stops due to weather. Mahalo Nui Loa to all that have posted. Really appreciate your insights. Yes, I realize the final decision is mine and mine alone.
  6. I am currently booked for a voyage to Iceland and Greenland (all in one). It is one of my bucket list cruises. After traveling so much in 2023, I am not sure I am up to this cruise. Reserved this booking years ago to get my treasured Window Suite. What's holding me back? Very long flights from West Coast to LHR (via EZ Air) Expenses for hotels (LHR and Southampton)...if you are going that far....might as well tack on a few extra nights More sea days than days in Iceland and Greenland Expensive excursions Would love to hear from other passengers who have gone to Iceland and/or Greenland. Was it worth it? I know I can do Greenland from the East Coast. This may be one of those "not meant to be". I've cancelled (or had cancelled) 4 cruises to Iceland or Greenland. I know of people who have done land tours. Thank you in advance for your comments. Looking forward to hearing from all of you.
  7. Had it on the Caribbean Princess...but it seems to be only on longer cruises (more than 7 days). Offered in the MDR on a sea day. Not quite the same, but close. I doubt short port intensive itineraries will see a Pub Lunch.
  8. It was still available in October 2024 (Caribbean Princess). I thought I took a camera shot...oops...not this time. Many Caribbean Cruises. Nothing of interest for me. Suites and Reserve Club Class are rarely available.
  9. @Knickearth has been active on the boards since starting this thread. It would be nice to know what happened when they tried to board without a passport. It would be helpful to others to know what documents allowed them on to the ship.
  10. You did the right thing by going to Guest Services. But I would not have stopped until I was given the opportunity to speak to the manager immediately. His/her office is just to the side of the counter. They could have/would have paged him/her immediately. The office is in a private area and would have afforded you some privacy. Thank you for sharing. Were you the only occupants?
  11. I am sorry that your “safety issue” was not properly addressed while on board. Without prying for more details, I’m not sure if you will get much assistance. It might have been more workable if this was escalated while still onboard. The chain of command onboard a ship would have been: Guest Services counter Customer Service Officer Hotel General Manager If it was a food matter: Assistant Manager Maitre d’ Food and Beverage Officer Hotel General Manager i don’t know the chain of command for Safety Officers. i doubt you will get any further resolution after the fact via land based customer service department. Wishing you luck. It seems as though you are trying to make sure “this” doesn’t happen to another passenger. Kudos to you.
  12. Don't get too excited about the milkshakes. Ice cream, milk, and chocolate syrup blended. Very thin. They did use "real" ice cream. Still not the same as your diner experience milkshake in the tall metal container. I recently discovered ice cream (or maybe gelato) being served near the scones in the buffet. Interesting...in a bowl that was in an ice cube bath and hand scooped. Looked freshly made.
  13. While on the cruise, did you find out if the cabin steward know/find out how you made the purchase?
  14. On the Caribbean Princess, those specialty cakes from the IC were included in Premium (and guessing limited on Plus).
  15. You may request other vegetables, if it is in the galley. I have seen lots of broccoli and sometimes asparagus. Even have been offered Shanghai cabbage.
  16. Yes, I prefer to eat around 6:30. Missed too many cocktail hours and tea times. I seem to pick the "wrong" cabin mates...lol... Sailing solo has its benefits.
  17. AND at one time, Suites had these small, but really nice white heavy duty cloth laundry bags. The new blue nylon laundry bags hold more.
  18. Welcome back. So glad you don't have to post incognito....
  19. AND....suites used to have nice canvas Princess bags. Those are gone too.
  20. There is a huge difference between connecting to WiFi (paid INTERnet Service) and connecting to Princess MedallionNet (free INTRAnet for Medallion Class APP). I have had success with my iPhone with and without paid INTERnet service and iMessages. Others have not been so successful. I don't know why I could and they couldn't. I believe there must be some little mouse in my phone working overtime. To answer the OP's question, YES, if you purchase WiFi and place your phone on airplane mode, you will be able to receive texts, make wifi calls, and do FaceTime. Be sure to turn on WiFi calling feature.
  21. Clarification: You may have to wait a few minutes..... I was on the Diamond Princess: Club Class/Reserve didn't start to fill up until after 6 PM. (Late diners). I was on the Grand/Caribbean: Line up at the door by 4:45 (5 couples). The rest trickled in. Tables filled in during the first hour. There were always one or two couples "waiting" for me to leave at 6:30/7 PM. I was on the Grand (solo) and decided to do dinner between 6:15 - 6:45. Often I had to wait for "my table/wait staff" for a few minutes as the previous passengers finished up their coffee and dessert. Wait time is minimal, but sometimes the host/hostess will have you sit in the overflow area until a table opens up. Once, I mentioned that I would wait at Vines instead. Hostess came down to let me know that my table was ready. Wait time is nearly non-existent if you don't want a window, same table, or the same wait staff. On the CB in July, we found crew that we really liked in the overflow area. Never had to wait. "Our" table was always available. On the CB in October, by the end of the second week, I was almost always first in line when the doors opened and walked straight to my favorite table. It takes about an hour to 90 minutes to complete dinner. If you arrive during the first "seating", then you will probably have to wait (for a few minutes). I did not want to give the impression that Club Class/Reserve dining was "always" a no wait walk in venue. Once I saw a family of 4 seated at a small round table for 3. They didn't want to "wait" for a. table in the larger section. They were seated next to us in the overflow area and began meal service. Their order was taken, and they began with cocktails and bread. THEN they moved to the main area for the rest of their meal. I am not implying that the overflow area is bad. There are 4 - 6 tables in that area. It can be noisy when the Party Band is in the Piazza. But it is very entertaining to watch people coming and going. We happened upon a terrific wait staff and decided to stay with them. I do like "traditional dining".
  22. You will find many opinions on various searches. There are a few benefits with Club Class/Reserve cabins: 1. Location, more midship in most situations. 2. I love the no reservations/no waiting/sometimes a few extra menu items. Usually desserts (flambé), lobster thermidor, lamb chops, Caesar Salad, etc. 3. Keep in mind that you would either need to be the first in or choose 60-90 minutes for next "seating". I have arrived at 5:30 and, depending on port days, may not have to wait. 4. If you want the same wait staff, let the assistant manager know. 5. Priority boarding, disembarkation, and I'm not sure about tendering. I am not sure if you are aware these cabins are NOT full suites. Now, is it worth the upbid or extra cost? Only you can decide what your budget will allow.
  23. I stopped watching her videos after I got mis-directed (and corrected by cc members).
