  1. Sea Day/Norfolk/Sea Day/New York (Brooklyn) Day 2 - Sea Day.pdf Day 3 - Norfolk.pdf Day 4 - Sea Day.pdf Day 5 - New York.pdf
  2. Embarkation Patter - Test run. This is not going as well as I expected. I have all Patters/aka Event Listings scanned. Now to get it uploaded. You will have to open the ones you want. Was hoping to "display" Patters. Embarkation.pdf
  3. Thank you for starting this thread. It's always difficult to cross the Pacific with an medical emergency. I hope the patient is resting comfortably. There's a lot of water between LA and Hilo. Helicopters can only go so far out to meet the ship. It doesn't look good for Lahaina. I've been trying to keep up to date with rapidly changing news. I would fathom to guess that the Emerald will not tender in Lahaina. Hopefully you will still be able to port at Kahului. It's more central to the island. The good news: 'Beyond Hana' - Road has now Re-opened The county of Maui has now fully re-opened the Hana Highway (Road to Hana). Previously, the county had closed a portion of the Hana Highway at Alelele Point near Kipahulu (beyond the Oheo Gulch) due to safety issues. This closure ended in late July 2023 as construction wrapped up. I would not do this independently, but the ship will do an excursion. Upcountry is also nice, but there are fires there too.
  4. @PMGS247 All good numbers, but OP is new to Princess. WiFi will cost them $15.00 pp/pd. I wish OP a lot of luck trying to come up with a workable plan. Sometimes convenience is worth the extra money. If it is only for a week... If it is port intensive.... If they aren't "big" drinkers... If they want to relax and not worry about every twist and turn.... There are ways to do a cruise on a budget. But it takes lots and lots and lots of planning. @Generator515 Here's my best advice. You mentioned getting the FULL Plus Princess Beverage Package (or what ever it is called for wifi/tips/drinks) at $50. Lock it in now. You can always remove it when final payment is due. Then you won't be under the stress of do I do it or not.
  5. There are a lot of "free" foods from Princess: Slice (Pizza) Salty Dog GRILL (Hamburgers/Hot Dogs/Tacos) International Cafe (Cookies/sandwiches/snacks/breakfast) Lemonade, coffee, tea, in Buffet Hot chocolate/chocolate milk in MDR Made to order omelettes (buffet) Scones/clotted creme after 3 PM in the buffet. Soft serve ice cream in cups or cones ... with sprinkles Ice cream is served every lunch in the MDR. You can even get a banana split in the evenings.
  6. Here's a different approach. Crew Appreciation $16(Inside/ocean view) to $18 (CC mini/suite) per person Wifi $15 a day per person Difference is for "extras" wine/cokes/other charges. First two passengers have to pay the same. Children can be excluded (but you need to still factor in Crew Appreciation daily x 2) These are standard "deductions". All else is fluff. You mentioned $50 for plus. How was that special included? With or without all the recent changes? Current price is $60/$80
  7. Agree, I love sailing under bridges. But that's just the beginning. You will have 10 sea days. The Hawaiian Cultural Ambassadors will make all the difference in the world. Currently there are three pairs and an odd duck. I won't compare the three sets but have cruised with two. Everyone has their favorites. It's being immersed into Hawaiiana that makes Princess stand out above the rest of the cruise lines. ELUA (Tiki Dave and Leialoha) Tui and Maile Rowena and Brian
  8. Started the insurance claim process. I called AON this afternoon to find out the steps I need to file a claim. 877-846-8833 8 AM to 10 PM M- F (I'm guessing EDT) 9 AM to 5 PM Saturdays. Very nice agent. 1. Start claim online (needed my name and booking number). She found my PVP and sent me a direct link with my booking number. Did I say I am not the most organized? 2. 15 business days to acknowledge opening of claim. 3. I do need to file a claim with Medicare and my secondary health insurance then submit an EOB to AON when it comes through. This can be done before or after initializing claim. I take baby steps. Today was to call AON. There's always tomorrow. Like @Thrak (learning from the best). I now have a physical folder for papers. A folder on my laptop for electronic pdfs. AND a folder in my email for communications. This is going to be a long process. But I did finally looked at my medical records. They have me checking in to isolation on July 30 and checking out on August 1 (2 nights). I was concerned that I did not get that documented. Remember Flow Charts? Maybe that is what I should be doing.
  9. I, now...recall your Tuscan Luncheon. A person was approaching each dining table on Embarkation night in the Crown Grill. "Opportunity of a lifetime. Better than Chef's Table. Only 2 places left." @Australia08 Thanks for sharing the photos. I declined since I am such a wine light weight.
  10. Are you on a cruise now? If so, you are unable to access other bookings while using Medallion Net. I had to go into the terminal, turn off MedallionNet, and use the free wifi. I can use both Safari and Chrome to get into my personalizer/app to access all of my cruises. In the app, I have to click on my photo to access all the other bookings.
  11. @pantherlady I was also disappointed in the shops. Calypso Cove was in a much smaller location on Deck 7. The main shop was 3 rooms large with high end merchandise. Do you get the feeling that Princess doesn't want you to spend your non-refundable OBC?
  12. Re-faring before final payment = cabins in your category are still available. Re-faring after final payment = at the sole discretion of who is at the other end of the call.
  13. I’m so sorry for your missing out on time with your daughter. Planning a cruise used to be the fun part. Wishing you get the cruise you want.
  14. I was surprised that Japan also had this similar law. Hence the need to stop in Korea.
  15. Princess has 3 new long cruises to Alaska for 2025. LA round trip San Francisco round trip Seattle round trip I wonder if this is a test market? Or are they trying to win back their seasoned cruisers that they have alienated. Very popular Very expensive
  16. While we are at it….let’s throw in the Jones Act (cargo) AND, the fact that foreign airlines are not allowed to fly between US cities (don’t know the name of that law), Think about that one!
  17. NCL Pride of America (why they didn’t keep Pride of Hawaii….) is just the tip of the iceberg. Lots and lots and lots of politics involved in that conversion. Correct.
  18. PSVA is only a United States law. It only applies to foreign flagged vessels that cruise from US ports.
  19. I asked that same question on live chat today. Agent said that I could not put it on a courtesy hold. I had to "book" it to get a number and use my FCD. I fooled him. Texted my TA immediately and she booked it an hour later. It was a risk. There was only one Window Suite left. Agent did tell me what cabin. I couldn't book it online since I could not see cabin numbers. Plus site was circling.
  20. If you are considering: LA to Vancouver to SEA to Alaska to SEA, you would still be in violation since you are starting in LA and ending in SEA. Write your Congressman/woman. I've dealt with this for most of my life!
  21. Princess does not sail in/out of Long Beach. Their home port is San Pedro/LA.
  22. There are several check list factors involved when doing a back to back. Is it a closed loop (start at same port and end at same port)? Requires a NEAR foreign Port. Example LA/Hawaii/Ensenada/LA). Does it involve 2 different ports (LA/Panama Canal/FLL)? Requires a DISTANT foreign port as in one of the ABC islands or a port in SOUTH America. Your B2B2B simply starts in LA and ends in SEA. They are both in North America. You would need a DISTANT Foreign port not part of North America (Canada counts as a NEAR foreign port). Since you are ending one segment in Vancouver, why don't you spend the night and hop on another ship going to Seattle? Princess requires every ship leaving San Francisco or LA to got to Vancouver before starting their season round trip out of Seattle.
  23. Qualifying "Yes, you can purchase". I had to return to the office to pick up a hard copy. There was no way I was walking off the ship without verification since nothing was sent to my email account. Even after returning home, my TA never received notification. I had to send her the certificate numbers. Do it early. Make sure to get that hard copy. I have heard that others had done it. I did check with several people on board before talking to the Future Cruise Department. They told me that I could do it from my room. I'm sorry...not that trusting.
  24. Completely off topic. But if I don't jot this down now, I will forget. And if you haven't figured it out yet, I did not do much touring on this cruise. Hence, very little to report on each stop. No Blue Bags. I did see them around the ship. Not sure if other's got them or brought their own. No bar soap. No tube amenities. 1 shower cap, 1 chap stick, 2 eye shades. Paper laundry bags in "other" cabin. Blue nylon reusable laundry bags in the suite. Bathrobes and slippers in suite. Different types of thermostats in suite and balcony. Starboard Deck 6 (Fiesta) seemed to be a "favorite" location for primary gangways. Also sometimes had one on Deck 5 (near Good Spirits). Tendering was on Deck 3. Saint John was the most fun with the extreme tides. Disembarkation from Quebec happened on Deck 6. Monkey Bread was available in the mornings. Peanut Butter cookies could be found at the IC on most days. You do have to ask for them. Pub Lunch on 2 out of 4 sea days. No roaches. No trouble with toilet in my cabin. Refrigerator never worked. Neville Saldana joined the ship. I met him back on the Golden Princess. He is very personable and visited our CC MDR table frequently. Comes on for 2 months at at time and "gets the staff in shape" and then leaves. (He claims he's in semi-retirement mode). Amazing how quickly they can change out the officer's board. Did I mention that I met "JP" from corporate? He sat in the Customer Service Officer's office for most of the time. When I first saw him, I asked who he was. He told me that he was "support". On one of the last few days, I delivered a 7 page hand written note to Carla (Customer Service Officer) detailing my encounters with her crew. ALL were positive interactions. But I did add in a few comments about the direction Princess is going and what I was unhappy about. I sure hope she shared it with this JP. Saint John, NB. Fascinating to watch the tidal change from my cabin window. They have a very sophisticated gangway that adjusts by many feet. Not a very good photo. But, we started out the morning even with the top ramp. Saint John: Princess completed immigrations and customers with a few of the officers and CBP. Did not involve passengers. I was told by Carla that Canada may select a "few" passengers from the ship and Canada to "interview". Can not confirm that. We did have to fill out a form and submit it to our steward. Day of disembarkation in Quebec, walked off the ship and onto a bus transfer. Lots of porters around to help you. And of course, no visit would be complete without a photo of the Fiddle in Sydney. Thanks for being so patient. I will be getting around to posting the Patters soon. I think this is the last of the cruise comments. About isolation. Yes, they had me in two rooms, but the television did not recognize me as being in there so I couldn't do any "business" on the tv. Even the phone didn't have any identification except room number.
  25. This is interesting. Please tell us more. Dilemma. Book it with Plus/Premier now. Wait for 50% off? Risk buying in onboard with OBC and hope that rate does not go up between now and then. Oh....the problems.
