  1. We've never done specialty dining, however on our upcoming cruise in March, I saw a special in the planner for Tuscan on the first night. I think it was about $35/pp plus gratuity. I figured that would be worth it. However, I don't think I would ever pay $70/pp or more for specialty dining. I'm happy with the MDR.
  2. They used to have the Grand Marnier souffle in the MDR once per cruise. It used to show up on the menu, however, the last couple times I had it, it was a special and not listed on the menu. Ask your waiter the first night to see if they will have it during your cruise.
  3. We have never sailed NCL before, only Celebrity. I'm kind of interested in one the these two new ships. However, from photos, it appears that when the beds are put together to form the large queen/king bed, that they are just 2 twins pushed together with separate bedding. I'm used to the two beds pushed together but the bedding is for the larger size so there is not a "seam" down the middle. Is this just in photos but not the case or what. Thanks!
  4. I agree with this!! Can't wait to see her again in March! Other small tips: the pastries in the display case in Cafe al Bacio are free!! Yummy. The Spa Cafe is tucked away near the indoor pool and has light/healthy breakfast and lunch options and is included.
  5. Cool!! I haven't been on an S Class ship is quite awhile. Love that drink. I wish they had it on the M class ships. Hope you enjoyed it!!
  6. On Celebrity's website. https://www.celebritycruises.com/things-to-do-onboard/eat-and-drink/restaurants-and-cafes/tuscan-grille It's all the way to the bottom.
  7. Does anyone have information on the Wine Connoisseur Dinner in Tuscan? I saw it mentioned but there's no details. I'm assuming it's an extra cost. If anyone has a menu for this or the cost, I would appreciate it.
  8. If you haven't tried it already, I highly recommend the Above the Clouds drink at World Class Bar. So good!!
  9. Interesting! I would probably contact Bacardi directly to make sure that is up to date. Also could check on Uber.
  10. I believe the first time we did it with Celebrity, but the next time we just took the short ferry ride over and a short taxi ride to Bacardi. It's very easy to do on your own. The ferry leaves from Old San Juan near the cruise terminal in town. On the other side, there will be taxi's available.
  11. We highly recommend Bacardi and doing the Rum Tasting Tour. The tour is very interesting and the rums you'll taste are great (well....except the first which is just the cheap white Bacardi), but the last one...Oh my goodness!!
  12. The gratuities are included in the drink package so you don't need to pay. If you have the Classic package and order something over $9, you will be charged the difference plus gratuity and that will go on your shipboard account. Some bars are open on embarkation. We have always gone straight to the Martini Bar when we board to upgrade from Classic to Premium. The Sunset Bar (aft) is usually open along with the Mast Bar and of course the Pool Bar. We don't have to do that on our upcoming March cruise because we were able to get the Premium included in our fare. There is a changing room area inside the solarium. It's a restroom with changing room facilities. When you board, you can go straight to your room to drop off carry on luggage even if the room isn't completely ready. Have a great trip. The Summit is amazing!
  13. We've been on the Millenium 2 or 3 times. We have always been very happy with the food in the MDR. We've never done a suite so I can't speak to Luminae but I've heard it's great. We've also never done specialty dining because we're always happy with the MDR, however, we are booked for Tuscan on the March cruise for the first night. The shows are normally quite good, however we're not much for the big production shows, but some have been great. The staff is amazing. The ship is beautiful.
  14. You will probably be required to be off the ship by 9:00 or 9:30. New passengers start boarding around 11:00 or 11:30. One suggestion is to grab an Uber or taxi to Old San Juan. Go to the restaurant Barachina and they will hold your luggage for you (it's fee, just give a tip). Then roam around Old San Juan for a few hours then take a taxi or Uber to the airport.
  15. We've been to Orient Beach (not the nude side) several times. It is one of our favorite places while we are on a cruise. Last March we walked along the beach and decided to get chairs and umbrellas at the Le String beach bar/restaurant. We went in there for lunch and all I can say is "WOW!". The food was amazing. My husband had a seafood pasta dish and I had a Chicken Marsala pasta dish. Both were phenomenal!!! Not very expensive either. I had a wonderful glass of Rose' that was only $5 (us). We did not know this at the time, but I've heard if you are going to eat there, then they do not charge for the chaises. Not sure about this. Anyway, I highly recommend!!
  16. We took a taxi there in 2020. Great beach and good food.
  17. We have stayed in Sweet 16 cabins many times. Yes, there is shade. 1/2 shade (from balcony above) and 1/2 sun (of course this depends on the angle of the sun!). We love these cabins. Unfortunately, Celebrity is changing the cabin grade for these on the Millenium class ships little by little. They have always been the least expensive veranda category, but they are going up in price. Still, they are a great cabin for the extra (double depth) size of the balcony.
  18. That sounds amazing. That wasn't on our March 2022 cruise. Maybe it will be next March! And you're right, Marren is wonderful. We can't wait to see her again next March!!
  19. We're looking for something in Grenada for March, so I'll keep an eye out for your review of this tour!!
  20. Marren is amazing!! We were on the Millenium in March and she took such good care of us! I'm hoping she will still be on for our cruise next March!!
  21. Has anyone used this company before to do a sail to JVD for the day? They seem to get amazing reviews. The time is 9:30-4. Our ship leaves at 5:00. I'm pretty confident based on their reviews that we would be fine getting back to the ship but I would love to hear from others that have done this. We are on the Celebrity Millenium in March 2023. Thanks!
  22. I completely agree. The "tea" in Oceanview is not "real" ice tea. I also go to Cafe Al Bacio and have them make me a fresh brewed iced tea!
  23. It's actually very easy to do this on your own. Take a taxi to the ferry dock (Red Hook I believe) and take the ferry over to St. John. Lots of taxis and shuttle buses there or you can rent Jeeps, etc... We have done this 2 or 3 times. We just catch one of the shuttle taxis to Trunk Bay. We spend the day and then head back to the ferry. We make sure to give ourselves plenty of time to get back. If the ship leaves at 5:00 pm then I would start heading back to the ferry at about 2:00 pm. Honestly, I don't know what you would get in St John if you left at 8:30 and came back at 12:30. Not much time to see anything or even spend at the beach.
