  1. Thanks for reminding me of the 25th anniversary martini. Used to order that often. These look interesting, too. Not sure if they are off menu. https://www.celebritycruises.com/blog/cruise-cocktails
  2. I want to love the World Class Bar (WCB) but I just don't. I keep going back every time I cruise with an open mind, but nope. Does anyone else really, really miss the Liquid Chef's (Junior Merino's) drink options when Celebrity started this concept on the Solstice class ships? It was so much more fun, and so many more interesting, tasty drink options! The well-trained bartenders would ask you what you liked that was on their menu, and then make you something different that they figured you might like from your preferences. I can remember trying every single drink on their menu throughout a cruise and liking them all (well, except the avocado one.) Question: Is there anything more interesting than the WCB on Edge Class with different specialty drink options, or should I expect the same "world class" options on the Edge class ships?
  3. Interesting...I was told it was one discount or the other. hmmmm
  4. I'm so sorry about this situation. Wishing the best to your husband. My experience was quite a few years ago (possible 8 or 9 years), but I called Celebrity because I had a medical issue (not a heart procedure; much less serious) and Celebrity moved my cruise departure date forward a month or so. I actually had insurance but was concerned that the insurance company might argue that it was a pre-existing condition. Was utterly impressed! It saved my vacation and months of doctors reports, claim forms, invoices, credit card statements, telephone questioning and multiple rounds of paperwork to be reimbursed from insurance company (what I had to produce years ago when my elderly father was diagnosed with cancer 3 days before an extended trip which I had to cancel.)
  5. Celebrity runs an excursion in Boston after disembarkation for those flying home later in the afternoon. We are planning to visit Boston before the cruise so just looking for feedback from those who have done the Celebrity Boston excursion after disembarking the cruise. The posted description is so vague, not sure I event understand what exactly they do until drop-off. All the time driving around on a bus? Are there any stops where you actually get off the bus? Where? Please share any details and provide feedback; was it worth it to you vs 6/7 hours waiting at the airport. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the info @mdj59. That's great to know. Thanks. https://www.nps.gov/bost/learn/freedom-trail-audio-tour.htm
  7. Wow, that was lucky there was another available stateroom. The reverberating bass is exactly what concerned my DH and I. We booked on 9th deck next to the suites thanks to all the great advice posted here. Thanks all! I guess it really depends on the entertainment being offered in Eden. When we cruised on Edge in an Infinity, not Sunset stateroom last year, the musical group playing nightly in EDEN was so phenomenal (Acoustic Experience) I would have been happy to hear them from our balcony every evening.
  8. OMG. It's perfect! Much bigger than I expected. I had seen your excellent video but must have missed the stateroom # that now I see is right there. 😏 Thank you so much!
  9. Would love some feedback on this question... from all of those who have sailed on a sunset deck right above EDEN. Thanks
  10. Can those who have sailed in a sunset veranda on EDGE or APEX comment on whether there is any roof coverage over the sunset balconies? I love to sit outdoors on a real balcony but prefer to have a roof over my head so to not get much direct sun. Does it depend on which deck you choose, or which cabin on the deck? There are available cabins on every deck. Thank you!
  11. Ken, Help me with this. I don't understand the difference. We do the "Book Later" because we have six months to decide what we want to book. Once that's done within 6 months, isn't the $100/PP charge for a change to the cruise booking you made (within six months) equal to the charge if you change the "future cruise" you actually booked on-board? The OBC from booking on-board is part of either booking. I don't understand the benefit. Appreciate you clarifying.
  12. Yes, I see that one; it's perpendicular to the connecting wall between the staterooms. I'm sorry I didn't describe it well. I'm referring to the hard thick black parallel line all along the entire wall dividing the 2 staterooms.
  13. What does it mean when there are HARD thicker solid black lines between cabins on Apex? Like between 10127 and 10129? I see they are connecting rooms, but was curious what those meant.
  14. I thought Edge class did have a Persian Garden with the heated chairs like S-class. It doesn't?
  15. For those who have been getting info directly from Celebrity, is it confirmed that the Apex will only be in drydock for the short period between 10/23/24 and 11/9/24 when the TA is now scheduled?
  16. Hello all, I love to read books that focus on an area before I travel there. They can be fiction or non-fiction as I find that either can provide interesting context, details and a point-of-view about the area. Will be traveling to Boston, Bar Harbor, Sydney, Halifax, PEI, Portland and Quebec City. Would appreciate it if you would share your particular favorites! Thanks in advance. 📚
  17. Much appreciated to all; your feedback was extremely helpful. Helps make my decision much easier.
  18. First some background... I often book AQ on Solstice Class ships for two reasons. One, I like BLU not so much for the special menu (and I'm able to order from MDR on some nights) but because I can sit by the huge glass windows and enjoy the ocean views during dinner. For me, that is very special. Second, on non-port intensive cruises, I like relaxing in the Persian Garden with, again, the views. So on a recent cruise on Edge, I really did not like the location of BLU and really preferred the 4 restaurant options (thankfully, I had booked a veranda.) I'm considering a transatlantic on Apex and wondering how the location and views from BLU compares to the location on Solstice class ships. Ive seen a few pics on-line and the views look quite blocked and unappealing to me. Would love to hear from those who have experienced BLU on any of the Edge ships. I heard that they have made some modifications since the Edge ship, so if you can be ship-specific about your experience, it would be very helpful. Of course, I would miss out on the Persian Garden if I don't book AQ but I can buy a pass for that and I'd rather just do the regular restaurants with some specialty nights if the views from BLU are not appealing. Thanks so much for your help!
  19. I missed this entire Wi-Fi discussion because I thought the Elevate package (which I have for an upcoming Cruise) included the premium wifi package. Just learned it doesn’t, just includes basic. On my planner, only purchasing the premium Wi-Fi is included, not the cost to upgrade from Basic to Premium. Anyone have that info or link to such? Did I just miss a sale on the upgrade? 🥲
  20. Just answered my own question. We don’t anrrive until later in the day. Thanks cruisetitch. Thinking you already figured that out. 🤣
  21. Halifax, but was figuring this was a general question about how celebrity handles these HoHo passes anywhere. But any help appreciated. Ty
  22. On my upcoming Celebrity Cruise, the Hop Off Hop On “so-called excursion” is sale priced with a 30% reduction so it is cheaper than the price on the HoHo bus website. I have OBC so would like to purchase through Celebrity. However, it says the “excursion” starts at 10am while the HoHo website says the bus starts at 8:30am on that date. Anyone have any experience booking the HoHo through Celebrity and being made to wait until later in the day to start using the pass? thanks…
  23. That’s a great deal! Congrats. Is it a 7 day cruise?
