  1. I like your thinking! It's a shame that such a beautiful venue is empty on sea days.
  2. No excuse for cancelling an overbooked desirable excursion in that manner. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I would also have been furious. A significant credit or OBC for a 2nd Norway cruise would have been more appropriate.
  3. I hope I'm staying on topic but I would love for BLU breakfast to be open later. Especially on sea days. Would I pay extra, yes. I think I already do but charge me a few bucks more if needed, please.
  4. Yes, and stay away from spring break weeks. For the Caribbean, only choose 10 day itineraries as well.
  5. I’m definitely looking forward to our Canada/NE cruise next month for many reasons but fresh lobster rolls is definitely up there among them. Yum!
  6. On our last cruise in May, they just brought 2 per person without being asked. We were seated with some folks we met on board and they asked for more-TWICE. But honestly, they were really small. and the wait staff were utterly gracious about it.
  7. Very cool to learn something new ever day! Thanx.
  8. Check your cruise planner. Flash sales have a 50% off premium upgrade right now for some cruises.
  9. Happy to learn Summit has been revolutionized! Sailing Summit for first time next month. Thank you. I liked the new decor and key card system on Equinox this year (I guess I was lucky to unknowingly book one of the "updated" cabins.)
  10. Gosh again! Of course, most of us don't think anyone will choose or not choose Celebrity because of those free drinks. In my case, I was responding to the OP who initially posted, why doesn't Celebrity honor the happy hour on first night of the cruise? Most of the explanations go back 100 years ago (when I and many others here first reached Elite status) and went to the Happy Hours in the set location before drink packages. After that, I got totally spoiled by being able to order Rusty Nails (i.e., Glenfiddich and Drambuie on 2 rocks) before dinner and "better" wines at dinner (than the old wine packages we used to buy) without looking at drink prices or signing tickets. or having a balance owed at the end of the cruise. For newer cruisers, who have reached Elite status more recently, they don't know that on the first night, there was no Happy Hour (for a variety of reasons explained in earlier posts.) So for them, it just doesn't make sense that the first night is excluded. That's all; it's that simple! Celebrity is making lots of changes in the other direction, so why not this? It just seems logical if you don't know the history and for those newly eligible people, it's inexplicable. Finally, I must admit I don't know why I keep responding here but I guess, for me, it's the comments about "entitled people" and "being cheated" and "being owed" which just seem over the top and unnecessary. Hopefully, I'm just wrongly interpreting them. We're just having a conversation. I've learned so much, saved money, and enhanced my cruise experiences from all I've learned here and there are so many helpful people. So for that, I thank you!
  11. Interesting. I never receive those flyers. Do you receive them via email? Saw the flash sale posted here, thankfully.
  12. Is the Edge Class spreadsheet being updated? I can’t find anything but EDGE ship cabins on it.
  13. It’s worth it to us. Check your cruise planner right now. There are flash sales currently going on with a 50% reduction in the cost to upgrade on many cruises.
  14. I upgraded from classic to premium today. Although I already had the classic package, I saw the sale price for the classic package, the premium package as well as the flash sale to upgrade to premium. Same thing with wifi. Saw them all there although already have a Wifi package. I understand your point; I’ve just never had your described experience.
  15. So far, I haven’t seen any flash sales offered only to some passengers (booked on the same cruise) depending on what they have already purchased, rather than offered to all passengers on that cruise. But considering all the other changes, it doesn’t mean they couldn’t if they chose to, I guess. Or that they couldn’t change the policy that allows guests to cancel, without penalty, to rebook at the better price when flash sales occur.
  16. Thank you. That’s what I had noted on an earlier post, but someone asserted it had nothing to do wlth that. 🤷‍♀️
  17. Thank you. You were completely clear and I (and others, I'm sure) appreciate your detailed explanation. Interestingly, although what you say makes perfect sense and is what anyone would expect, what I have been finding lately is that the upgrade to premium wifi per person for one device is priced at $4.99 per person (you can book one for each guest), but is significantly higher for 1 guest with 2 devices ON THE SAME CRUISE (See below.) Which is why I was asking if I was just missing something because it made no sense to price it that way. I expect some people may not understand that you can book the $4.99 wife premium upgrade for each of two guests (so in effect, have 2 devices with premium wifi) and instead mistakenly select the $26.99/per day pricier option believing that's their only choice to upgrade 2 devices. UPGRADE Upgrade to Premium W-Fi - 1 Device From + $4.99 $9.99/ per guest per day (50% OFF) FLASH SALE UPGRADE Upgrade to Premium Wi-Fi - 2 Device From + $26.99 $33.99/ per guest per day (18% OFF) PRE-CRUISE SAVINGS PER PERSON
  18. That's exactly why I called in and had the agent do it from her end. No waiting for the excursion slot to re-open and the OBC to show up as available, which sometimes is immediately and sometimes is not in my experience.
  19. Thanks, I had figured that. But my question is why not buy 1 device for each of two passengers (for $4.99 each on some cruises, so much cheaper) and have those two devices connected at premium speeds? Since the 2nd guest has to disconnect, I guess it depends how often you need 2 devices simultaneously. Or am I totally missing something?
  20. Interesting. That seems to be what people attributed it to & it seemed to make some made sense. What do you suppose was the rationale, then? To save money on the first night of the cruise?
  21. Thank you. I called as the excursion is sold out and doing anything on-line can be iffy. The CC agent cancelled and rebooked for me while I was on the phone. Surprisingly, only took 5 minutes & was lucky to get a very knowledgeable rep. It was worth it for $39 savings to OBC I applied to another activity. BTW, she also confirmed that (1) flash sale (or any) sale prices cannot be combined with CC loyalty discounts, and (2) the 5% CC loyalty excursion discount ONLY applies to Small Group Discovery Tours.
  22. How do you reprice excursions that you booked on-line which are now cheaper with the flash sale? Do you call or can it be done on-line? What if excursion is now sold out? Will they reprice it for you without requiring you to first cancel it if you call? Also, please remind me how the flash sale price works with any Elite discount you are otherwise entitled to… I’ve gotten myself confused as to how that works. 🤦🏻‍♀️ TIA
  23. It was understandable when the first night Elite Happy Hour wasn’t held due to staffing concerns on turnaround day. Now, it just makes no sense. It could be a small change to benefit their loyal cruisers in the sea of other changes which don’t. Listen up, Celebrity.
