  1. Love that show. Note that it was filmed ten years ago; Canadian drug laws have changed. But, yeah, you can get in serious trouble bringing pot into foreign countries, even countries that seem to have a high tolerance for personal use. If you choose to risk bringing pot on a cruise (1) go with edibles; nothing that needs to be smoked (2) keep it on ship.
  2. For a board overview, check out Rick Steve’s Mediterranean Cruise Ports - either the book or the YouTube video.
  3. Note that the Village People appeared on the Love Boat, automatically making them “on topic” for any CC thread.
  4. Where can you learn to fly, play in sports and skin dive Study oceanography?
  5. You've got style, that's what all the girls say Satin sheets and luxuries so fine All your suits are custom-made in London
  6. My guess it wasn’t so much the soccer t-shirt that got him in trouble. It was the lack of pants.
  7. According to that internet thing, MSC did occasional sailings before, but the Divina in ‘13 was the first long term NA ship.
  8. Where are you going? Also keep in mind it’s at best 50/50 the boat won’t be blocking line-o-site to the satellites.
  9. The big thing to understanding Mediterranean cruises is that ports aren’t necessarily in the places you want to visit. the resources suggested above can explain better than a post here. So many great options. The only thing I’d strongly suggest is not going in July and August. People aren’t exaggerating about heat and crowds.
  10. I’m a big fan of MSC. Take much of what they are “notorious” for with a grain of salt. But with any cruise you are considering, do follow the advice above look at the itinerary and note how long you’ll be in port.
  11. Rick also has an hour-long teevee episode that’s on YouTube.
  12. Im not going to argue you shouldn’t go to those place. But I’d highly - highly - recommend you get away from “tourist Rome” and into Rome-Rome at least some of the time. Many great choices, though my personal answer for all things Rome is Trastevere.
  13. Barcelona’s beaches are very much like California’s. It’s about the beach “scene,” more so than the beach itself.
  14. I’ve seen lobster. Swimming in a pool of butter.
  15. Divina or Seashore? Seashore Why? Why the hell not Hope this has been helpful 🙂
  16. Or you could skip all the beauty product and use those Jenga skills seeing how many mini bottle of booze you can fit in there. It’s all about priorities.
  17. Vegetarian options are great. Vegan is more limited. Carbs, cheese, fruit and veggies all great. Lentils, etc are there but it’s not their speciality. There are three levels of drink packages. IMO, the basic package is ok, the mid-level is a nice indulgence, the highest legal is extravagance. Plus the No-alcohol package of course. If you want a balcony, go at least Fantastic level to pick your cabin. My person thought is the Aurea cabins aren’t necessarily better than Fantastica.
  18. I don’t know for sure, but my guess is a senior citizens nudist club 🙂
  19. I hope to god there was a drummer to give an appropriate badumtiss. That joke needs it. Sadly, that’s still how a ton of people see HAL. I have a hard time seeing the brand survive, at least not under Carnival. Why do you need both them and Princess.
  20. I don’t believe that voluntary tipping is a good way of doing this.
  21. Hmmm. I’m sensing a plan for when I want to sail on one of them fancy cruise lines, but don’t want to deal with the dress code.
  22. I see your Danny Noonan, and raise you with Lacey Underall
  23. Is that a good thing, or bad?
