  1. I must have been very lucky in over 50 cruises with different companies that I have never had any hard sell. Whether walking around the ship, at dinner table or getting off at ports have been asked if I would like a photograph taken and a polite "no thank you" as always been sufficient and they have moved on.
  2. I have no problems with the photographers and think it is wrong to say we hope they dont return. There is many things on P&O ships that I dont like or use but wouldnt want to see them taken away because we are all different and many like the things onboard that I dont and as with photographers many like having their photo taken.
  3. Yes if you book it as soon as you book the cruise. CPS are not struggling for actual car parking space it is like every company around the country at the moment struggling for staff which impacts on there usual excellent service.
  4. Certainly didnt hover in our case we never saw him.
  5. Apparently this as usual been taking completely out of context according to a report on Faceache from somebody who has contacted one of the operators that use short stay car parks for meet and greet. He was told and I quote "an email was sent to the outside 'meet and greet' operators regarding stopping access to the QE2 terminal short stay as it was needed for staff. After some negotiation, it was agreed that each operator could use no more than 15 spaces; which is adequate for their operations. Under the current legislation, the port authority cannot exclude access to parking competitors, so looks like the initial report on social media has been taken out of context".
  6. I think you have very reasonable chippy our what used to be regular now is charging £9-20 for cod/haddock and chips. So if you added a other fish and curry sauce would be about £18.
  7. But Cunard are not the only cruise line like that now and you try to get in first class on a plane. There has always been differences for those that are willing to pay a higher price for better service. Many have real hang ups about the supposedly "class system" on Cunard. I have cruised in QG and class myself as working class who worked all my life in public sector emergency service and was born on a council estate and lived there very happily until I got married.
  8. There have been a number of cruisers who have used P4C and have met their reps as instructed in short stay car park when they have got home they have received parking fines from Parking Eye. I know that P4C have told people to contact them about fines and they will get them rescinded which they have done. Dont know if this has lead to complaints from Parking Eye or ABP who I think own short stay car parks.
  9. The port authority are stopping 3rd party car parking companies from using the short stay car parks. Nobody knows whether this is a temporary measure or a permanent one.
  10. I have never been asked by anyone about what stateroom or suite I am in while chatting since we started cruising with Cunard in 1997. We have had a few strange looks when getting in lifts and putting in cruise card to access QG/PG deck from those that are not in there.
  11. Correct it will be " what the customer demands" which is the usual response for doing something that benefits Cunard.
  12. We have sailed on all current Cunard ships and also Caronia and QE2 and have had QG, PG, Balcony and inside cabin and in the majority had excellent cruises on them all. What everyone chooses is there own business and decision and not always is it down to cost and whether you can afford it. We have sailed in QG and would never book again not because of lack of money but value for money and dont think it was worth the extra now being charged over PG.
  13. Not freshly made batter that is crispy when cooked like in deep fat fryer. I have tasted it and it was horrible and soggy.
  14. Being a lover of freshly battered Haddock to go with my chips an air fryer would be no good for us so will stick with my deep fat fryer. But wife goes do some lovely stews/casseroles in a slow cooker.
  15. After repeated requests to P&O on their Faceache page with no success it was them that gave me Loyalty Dept e-mail and told me to e-mail them and they would sort it out.
  16. Dont even bother wasting you time and energy you might as well talk to a brick wall. I did not receive Christmas calendar last year and contacted them they eventually sent one at end of January. Queried with them as to why I had not received it as opted in to receive mail from P&O, they said they didnt know why but would sort it. Still no mail or e-mails from P&O so contacted them via P&Os Faceache page and every time they have said they will sort it. Still got no joy so contacted them again and they sent an e-mail address to write to Loyalty department so they could sort it. Still no success so have given up, bit annoying as have been cruising with P&O for 22yrs was Baltic but now Caribbean for few years and only have 4 cruises currently booked with P&O for 2023/24 obviously I am not loyal enough.
  17. Whilst legally you are correct with as far as any litigation for negligence if they prove that pools are regularly checked. I think as a matter of goodwill P&O should not charge them any medical charges for the incident.
  18. Times are a changing due to demand of majority of cruisers or potential new cruisers. Unfortunately P&O or any other cruise line cannot base future cruising on an older clientele who are sadly diminishing, harsh but true. More ports will come online with the more ships that are built with LNG it is just unfortunately Iona with it being one of the few that run on LNG it limits where they can go. Also a major factor the younger cruisers with families see the ship as the destination and not as concerned as older generation of ports of call. Whether we like it or not companies have to look forward and not back and like you say the likes of Aurora/Arcadia will be more costly to run so mean higher prices which puts many off and the more environmentally friendly ports will become the chances are they will not want older ships docking there.
  19. Sadly with P&O's past history of selling ships and cancelling cruises as long as they can find a buyer, which is the the big "IF" then I cant see at least one of those if not both lasting that long. By that time they will have 5 large ships with upwards of 15000+ berths a week to sell I think they will struggle and sell Aurora and Arcadia if there is a buyer.
  20. No Bolette's cruises that have been cancelled are in December because of lack of bookings and there are 4. She is due back in service for her Christmas cruise. The Balmoral has propeller issues and her next cruise has been cancelled so she can go into dry dock for repairs.
  21. Would never book with Saga because all the things offered are included in the price and I wouldnt want "shared" transport to Southampton and I never do excursions so that is a total waste of money.
  22. That is down to your TA some might give you extra discount instead of OBC that P&O offer to encourage you to book with them rather than book with P&O.
  23. Your TA will tell you that you only get BLC OBC if you book direct with P&O.
  24. If you look on BLC website under P&O Cruises and it says under T&Cs that you have to book a Select holiday, book direct with P&O and apply at time of booking cruise.
  25. With my limited knowledge of FO & Saga I don't think many cruiser's will be leaving FO to Saga as they are a completely different price level. Something I will not let it worry me because I would have no interest in cruising with either.
