  1. I should imagine the Carnival senior management are very worried about the share price. Not all due to the general fall in markets around the world, there has to be a lack of confidence regarding the debt and whether Carnival will survive. Think recent announcement by new CEO that all cruises are being sold too cheap is not the problem. If they increase fares across all the brand's bookings will drop and put further strain on share price and the company.
  2. They are not stored there for the duration of your cruise. What happens to all the other cars using CPS whilst your away. The car park where you pick your car up is not big enough for that number of cruises. They are stored in secure compound and then returned to that car park ready for your disembarkation.
  3. They drive them away and park your car in secure compound and then return your car to terminal you are disembarking from the day before your cruise ends. So your car is ready for you when you disembark the next morning.
  4. The cars are driven away from the terminals and parked in a secure compound within the port boundary. If you think they are parked where you pick your car up when you disembark then just think how many Cunard, Princess and P&O cruiser's leave cars with CPS on a daily basis and that car park is not big enough. If you want clarification read CPS website for confirmation.
  5. Unfortunately there are far more cars that use CPS when booking with Cunard, Princess and P&O on a weekly basis and the number of ships compared to Celebrity. The compound CPS used to store cars is a distance from terminals within the port area. Such a small amount usually park at Southampton when sailing with Celebrity so easier to park and leave cars in that position until return.
  6. Would never tire of cruising Norwegian Fjords. Much prefer them than cruises to the Med. Good job we are all different and all not sunseekers.
  7. Well I have checked price of our stateroom on Arvia in September 2023 which we booked when first released. Even with huge OBC being offered currently taking everything into account it is still cheaper when I booked than it is now. So be careful with the "huge discount" might be misleading and a great publicity stunt.
  8. Even at £8 unless it is Pollock is cheap. Our usual chippy is £9-20 for cod or haddock.
  9. Think it is a sign of the times and people worried about cost of living and fuel prices. Also not so appealing a maiden cruise in December just before Christmas.
  10. I dont honestly know as that is something that doesnt concern me but you never know what info is shared between UK and US without us knowing.
  11. I had e mail from TA only this week because we are going to New York in May next year on QM2. They categorically stated that if I had visited Cuba since March 2011 then you have to apply for a visa and an ESTA would not be granted.
  12. I don't blame you for booking a FCD it is a very good offering that should be taken advantage of. Unfortunately it is not something that is available to UK cruiser's when onboard and don't understand why and cannot get a straight answer from Cunard. They initially lied and said FCDs were stopped for everyone which is clearly not true. They only admitted that they were available to US cruiser's after sending them proof. Since then I have had nothing more than corporate nonsense with no realistic or honest reason.
  13. Why should they as they are all on ships named after a Queen and they aren't not going to change them.
  14. If you honestly believe that if in future Cunard change their T&Cs after you have made a booking and they will honour original T&C's then you are seriously mistaken. Been there done that and Cunard dont care about T&C's when you booked but what they are at the present time.
  15. Yes I know what you said but like I said it is one hell of a risk to book a cruise in 2024 that you dont want to do just to change for 2025 when nobody knows if T&Cs will change prior to then in UK or US or both. I agree paying the £175 deposit for the extra benefits is a no brainer for US cruisers but unfortunately this has been taken away from UK cruisers. I have been trying to get a reason for this from Cunard since cruising restarted but to be honest I either get corporate clap trap or lies and eventually ignored when they cannot give an honest answer why this has happened. One thing for certain I shall have an interesting chat with Future Cruise Sales onboard QV at the end of the month about this.
  16. So if T&Cs change before you cancel and move your booked 2024 cruise to 2025 you could possibly end up in having a 2024 cruise that you had no intention of booking and cannot transfer it to 2025. One hell of a risk to take. Like I said earlier it is easier if you are in the US just to purchase a FCD when next onboard and use it to book 2025 cruise and get the extra onboard benefit.
  17. As a US citizen you could purchase FCD whilst onboard that you can use at a later date without the need of booking a cruise. Unfortunately for some reason Cunard have stopped UK cruiser's from booking FCDs whilst onboard and cannot even give me the decency of a reply telling me why they treat UK cruiser's different than US cruiser's when onboard.

    2024

Anyone heard any more whispers on when the rest of 2024 programme goes on sale.
  19. Yes you will be and if you book onboard you get extra onboard account as stated previously on top of what you choose with regards to free parking, free coach or onboard credit.
  20. For a cruise of 6-9nts you get $100pp for booking inside/oceanview cabin, $150pp for balcony and $200 for a suite. Your best bet is to ring Cunard direct and ask them what onboard credit is attached to your booking as it is added automatically you dont have to apply for it.
  21. You dont get those offers just because you booked onboard you can get them booking through any TA if the offer is current. What you get for booking onboard is extra onboard credit per person and the amount depends on length of cruise and which stateroom grade booked.

    2024

Was hoping to book on QV Canaries cruise at beginning of November but doesn't look like 2024 will be released by then so will not be able to take advantage of extra OBC. So will be looking for another cruise line for our 2024 cruise and tempted to try Celebrity.
  23. Ah OK was under the impression it wasnt until end of October.
